Disposable insulin pen needles

Description

Insupen Original 32G 4 mm pen needles are ultra-fine, sterile, single-use needles designed for subcutaneous injections (commonly insulin). They feature precision-engineered needle geometry and anti-friction treatment to facilitate smooth, comfortable injections. The needles are compatible with all standard insulin pens and are supplied as a box of 100 sterile units, making them suitable for repeated home or clinical use over time.

Bnefits

  • Ultra-fine 32G needle for minimal pain and discomfort during injection.
  • Thin-wall design allowing efficient insulin flow and smoother injections.
  • Universal compatibility with most standard insulin pens.
  • Sterile, single-use packaging to minimise risk of contamination or infection.
  • Cost-effective bulk packaging (100 needles per box) for convenience and regular use.

Indications

  • Subcutaneous injection of insulin in individuals with diabetes.
  • Can also be used for subcutaneous administration of other compatible medications as per prescribing information.

Composition

  • Needle tube: medical grade stainless steel (AISI 304L or equivalent) with ultra-fine 32G gauge (approx. 0.23 mm outer diameter) and 4 mm length.
  • Hub: medical-grade polypropylene plastic.
  • Lubricant: medical grade silicone to facilitate smooth skin penetration.
  • Needle shield/primary container: polyethylene or similar non-toxic polymer, forming part of the sterile barrier.

Formulation

  • Single-use disposable pen needle (not a syringe), sold in boxes of 100 units.
  • Gauge: 32G (0.23 mm); Length: 4 mm.
  • Compatibility: standardized thread design to fit most insulin pens per ISO 11608-2:2012.

Packaging

  • Box containing 100 individually sealed sterile pen needles.
  • Each needle packaged in a sterile barrier (inner sheath + outer packaging) to maintain sterility until first use.
  • Outer box labelled with brand (Insupen), gauge (32G), needle length (4 mm), batch/lot number and expiry date.

Usage

  • Remove one sterile pen needle from its packaging using aseptic technique.
  • Attach the needle securely to a compatible insulin pen.
  • Remove needle caps carefully without touching the needle tip.
  • Hold the pen upright and prime (if required) to ensure insulin appears at the needle tip.
  • Administer the insulin subcutaneously according to prescribing instructions; after injection, count to 10 seconds before removing the needle.
  • Dispose of the used needle immediately in a proper sharps container; do not reuse.
  • Store remaining needles in a cool, dry place out of reach of children; do not use after expiry date.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if sterile packaging is damaged, opened or expired.
  • Do not reuse needles. Reuse may lead to needle dulling, increased pain, tissue damage or infection.
  • For single-patient use only; should not be shared between individuals.

Adverse Effects

  • Brief discomfort or pain at injection site (minimal due to ultra-fine gauge and lubricated needle).
  • Possible localized skin reactions (redness, bruising or irritation) depending on injection technique or patient sensitivity.
  • Risk of contamination or infection if aseptic technique is not observed or needle reused.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Keep in original sealed packaging until use to maintain sterility.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Duration

Onset

Immediate injection delivery \u2014 effect onset depends on the administered medication (e.g., insulin) not the needle itself
