Cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler
Description
Regenovue Filler – 1.1 ml refers to a range of cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal fillers designed to restore lost volume, correct wrinkles and sculpt facial contours. The Regenovue line is characterised by a very high HA cross-linking factor (often described as 100%) and a very low residual BDDE content compared with many conventional fillers. The range comprises three main products – Regenovue Fine Plus, Regenovue Deep Plus and Regenovue Sub-Q Plus – which differ in injection depth, gel rheology and clinical indication. The fillers are used by trained aesthetic professionals to smooth fine lines, correct deeper folds and to augment or define features such as cheeks or chin. Each syringe contains 1.1 ml of cross-linked, non-animal hyaluronic acid gel intended for single-patient use only.
Bnefits
- High cross-linked HA content for long-lasting volumising and wrinkle-filling effect.
- Very low residual BDDE level, minimising exposure to cross-linking agent while maintaining gel stability.
- Three formulations (Fine Plus, Deep Plus, Sub-Q Plus) allow tailored treatment according to indication and injection depth.
- Non-animal, biocompatible hyaluronic acid with gradual biodegradation over time.
- 1.1 ml syringe volume offers flexibility for treating multiple areas or achieving more pronounced correction in a single session.
- Smooth, cohesive gel designed to integrate well into tissue and provide natural-looking outcomes when correctly injected.
- Suitable for a broad range of facial rejuvenation procedures, from fine lines to deep folds and structural contouring.
Indications
- Correction of fine lines and superficial wrinkles (e.g. perioral, periorbital) with Regenovue Fine Plus.
- Treatment of moderate to deep wrinkles and folds (e.g. nasolabial folds, marionette lines) with Regenovue Deep Plus.
- Volumisation and contouring of areas such as cheeks, chin, jawline and correction of very deep folds with Regenovue Sub-Q Plus.
- Restoration of age-related loss of facial volume and improvement of overall facial harmony in appropriately selected patients.
Composition
- Cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin (concentration and particle size depending on specific variant: Fine Plus, Deep Plus or Sub-Q Plus).
- Trace amounts of BDDE (1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether) used as a cross-linking agent, with very low residual levels after purification.
- Physiological phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) carrier at approximately neutral pH.
- Sterile, pyrogen-free injectable gel intended for single use.
Formulation
- Injectable, ready-to-use cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel supplied in pre-filled 1.1 ml glass syringes.
- Luer-lock syringe design for secure attachment of appropriate sterile needles or cannulae (gauge and length chosen according to indication and injection depth).
- Different gel viscosities and elasticities in the Regenovue range (Fine Plus, Deep Plus, Sub-Q Plus) optimised for superficial, mid-dermal and deep/subcutaneous injections respectively.
- Non-animal stabilised HA, gradually resorbed by the body over time.
Packaging
- Each unit typically contains 1 sterile, pre-filled 1.1 ml syringe of Regenovue filler in a blister tray.
- Each syringe is packaged with one or more sterile needles (exact specification dependent on the particular product and market).
- Outer carton labelled with product name (Fine Plus, Deep Plus, or Sub-Q Plus), batch number, expiry date, HA concentration and manufacturer information.
- Intended for professional distribution channels only; not for retail sale to the general public.
Usage
- For professional use only; injection must be performed by a licensed doctor or appropriately trained medical/aesthetic practitioner familiar with facial anatomy and dermal filler techniques.
- Review patient history, indications and contraindications carefully; obtain informed consent before treatment.
- Clean and disinfect the treatment area and apply topical or local anaesthesia as required according to clinic protocol.
- Attach a sterile needle or cannula of suitable gauge and length to the pre-filled syringe using aseptic technique, ensuring a secure Luer-lock connection.
- Inject slowly into the recommended tissue plane for the chosen product (e.g. superficial dermis for Fine Plus, mid-to-deep dermis for Deep Plus, deep dermis or subcutaneous/supraperiosteal plane for Sub-Q Plus), using small aliquots and appropriate injection techniques (linear threading, serial puncture, fanning, depot, or cannula techniques as clinically indicated).
- Gently mould and contour the treated area immediately after injection to achieve an even distribution and desired shape, avoiding excessive pressure.
- Do not overcorrect; consider staged treatments for substantial volumisation.
- After treatment, advise the patient to avoid extreme facial movements, alcohol, excessive sun/heat exposure, saunas and strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours, and to avoid massage or pressure on the treated area unless specifically instructed.
- Monitor for early adverse reactions and schedule follow-up assessments as needed.
- Dispose of all used needles, cannulae and syringes immediately after use in appropriate sharps containers; do not reuse or resterilise.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to hyaluronic acid, BDDE, or any component of the product.
- History of severe anaphylactic reactions or multiple severe allergies.
- Presence of active infection, inflammation, herpes lesions, or skin disease at or near the intended injection site.
- Autoimmune diseases, uncontrolled systemic illness or immunocompromised states, unless injection is deemed appropriate by a specialist and with informed consent.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (elective cosmetic injectable treatments are generally not recommended).
- Previous permanent or semi-permanent fillers in the same area, where interactions or complications may be more likely.
- Bleeding disorders, current anticoagulant therapy or use of medications that significantly increase bleeding risk, unless carefully assessed and managed.
- Injection into blood vessels, eyelids, or areas where intravascular injection risk is high is contraindicated; never inject intravascularly.
Adverse Effects
- Common, usually transient reactions at injection sites: redness, swelling, pain or tenderness, itching, bruising, firmness, or small nodules.
- Short-term asymmetry, contour irregularities or over/undercorrection which may require massage, adjustment or, in some cases, additional treatment.
- Less frequent but more serious complications such as infection, granuloma formation, prolonged oedema, or inflammatory reactions.
- Rare but severe events related to inadvertent intravascular injection, including tissue ischaemia, necrosis, visual disturbance or blindness, and embolic events; these require immediate recognition and emergency management.
- Hypersensitivity reactions (immediate or delayed) which may present as swelling, erythema, induration or systemic symptoms; product should be avoided in patients with known relevant allergies.
Storage Conditions
- Store in the original packaging at controlled room temperature as indicated on the carton (typically between 2°C and 25°C).
- Protect from freezing and from direct sunlight or sources of heat.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
- Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised personnel.
- Do not use if the blister or syringe is damaged, the tamper-evident seal is broken, or the solution appears cloudy or contains visible particles.
Duration
Clinical effects commonly persist for several months and can approach 9\u201312 months or longer depending on product variant, injection site, volume used and individual patient factors; touch-up treatments may be performed as required.
Onset
Results are usually visible immediately after injection, with optimal appearance after initial post-injection swelling and redness subside over several days.
