Alcohol disinfectant wipes

Description

Azo™ Wipette 70% IPA Disinfectant Wipes x 100 are professional hard-surface disinfectant wipes impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for rapid and effective disinfection of non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical devices. Each tub contains 100 strong, durable wipes (approx. 130 × 180 mm) that deliver fast bactericidal action and broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy. The quick-drying, preservative-free formulation leaves no smearing or streaking, making the wipes ideal for use in clinics, dental practices, laboratories, cleanrooms and other healthcare environments requiring reliable infection control.

Bnefits

  • Impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol, providing efficient and rapid disinfection of hard surfaces and non-invasive medical devices.
  • Fast bactericidal action, killing bacteria (including MRSA and E. coli) in under one minute when used as directed.
  • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy (bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and yeasticidal) with high kill rates and validated to relevant EN standards in the Azo 70% IPA range.
  • Saturated with 70% IPA, offering approximately 10% more alcohol per wipe than many competing alcohol wipes, for reliable disinfection performance.
  • Strong and durable non-woven wipe fabric designed to resist tearing during use.
  • Suitable for use on all hard, non-porous surfaces where alcohol compatibility is confirmed.
  • Preservative-free formulation leaves no smearing or streaking, supporting quick turnaround of surfaces and equipment.
  • Convenient, easy-to-dispense canister with foil seal to minimise alcohol evaporation and extend product shelf life.
  • Manufactured in-house under an ISO 9001 quality management system (and typically ISO 13485 for medical device lines) to ensure consistent quality.

Indications

  • Rapid cleaning and disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces in healthcare, dental, podiatry, aesthetic and laboratory environments.
  • Decontamination of non-invasive medical devices and equipment surfaces between uses, where compatible with alcohol and in line with manufacturer instructions.
  • Disinfection of worktops, trolleys, couches, treatment chairs, door handles, resuscitation manikins and other frequently touched surfaces.
  • Use as part of routine infection prevention and control procedures in clinics and other professional settings.

Composition

  • Isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) 70% v/v (Biocidal active ingredient, BP grade).
  • Deionised / purified water (approximately 30% v/v carrier).
  • Non-woven wipe substrate (single-use synthetic or cellulose blend material).
  • No added preservatives, detergents, dyes or fragrances in the impregnating solution.

Formulation

  • Pre-saturated non-woven wipes in a tub canister.
  • 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol in deionised water, fast-drying and low-residue.
  • Alcohol-based, preservative-free formulation designed for one-step surface disinfection (after pre-cleaning of visibly soiled areas if required).
  • Unscented, colourless solution that leaves no smearing or streaking on compatible hard surfaces.

Packaging

  • Tub / canister containing 100 pre-impregnated wipes.
  • Approximate wipe size: 130 × 180 mm (13 × 18 cm).
  • Foil-sealed inner to help prevent alcohol evaporation during storage.
  • Easy-dispense aperture in the lid to allow removal of single wipes and reduce wastage.
  • Label with product name, code (81104), usage instructions, safety information, batch number and expiry date.

Usage

  • If surfaces are visibly dirty, clean first using an appropriate detergent or cleaning product.
  • Open the tub, pull out one Azo™ Wipette and immediately reseal the lid to minimise evaporation.
  • Wipe the hard, non-porous surface or compatible non-invasive medical device thoroughly, ensuring it is completely wetted.
  • Allow the surface to remain visibly wet for the recommended contact time (typically up to 1 minute) to ensure effective disinfection.
  • Leave to air dry; do not wipe dry immediately to allow sufficient contact time for antimicrobial action.
  • Use a fresh wipe for each separate item or area to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Do not use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Dispose of used wipes in accordance with local clinical or hazardous waste procedures; do not flush.

Contraindications

  • Not for use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Do not use on invasive medical devices or in situations where device manufacturers advise against alcohol-based disinfectants.
  • Avoid use on alcohol-sensitive materials (e.g. some plastics, rubber, acrylics, painted or varnished surfaces) unless compatibility has been confirmed in a small, inconspicuous area.
  • Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to isopropyl alcohol or similar solvents.
  • Do not use near naked flames, hot surfaces or other sources of ignition due to the product’s high flammability.

Adverse Effects

  • Prolonged or repeated skin contact with the solution may cause dryness, irritation or dermatitis.
  • Inhalation of vapours in poorly ventilated areas can cause transient headache, dizziness or mild respiratory irritation in susceptible individuals.
  • Eye contact with the liquid can result in irritation, redness and watering; immediate rinsing with plenty of water is required.
  • In rare cases, allergic contact reactions may occur; discontinue exposure and seek medical advice if signs of allergic reaction or significant irritation develop.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Keep the canister tightly closed when not in use to minimise alcohol evaporation and prevent wipes from drying out.
  • Keep away from all sources of ignition, including open flames, sparks and hot surfaces, as 70% IPA is highly flammable.
  • Avoid exposing the product to extreme temperatures or freezing conditions.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Dispose of empty containers and unused wipes in accordance with local regulations for flammable or clinical waste.

Duration

Used intermittently as needed for surface disinfection; each application provides rapid antimicrobial activity within seconds to under one minute. Frequency of use is determined by local cleaning protocols and infection control policies.

Onset

Rapid \u2013 antimicrobial activity begins on contact, with effective bactericidal action and reduction of many key pathogens usually achieved within under one minute when surfaces are adequately wetted.
