Description

Azo Wipe Hard Surface Bactericidal Wipes x 200 are professional-grade, non-woven wipes impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for rapid disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical equipment. Each tub contains 200 strong and durable wipes (approx. 200 × 220 mm) that provide fast bactericidal action against MRSA, E. coli and a wide range of other micro-organisms. The quick-drying formulation leaves no residue, smearing or streaking and is preservative free. Azowipe 70% IPA wipes are BPR compliant and manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems, making them suitable for use in clinical, laboratory, aesthetic and other critical environments.

Bnefits

  • Impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol for convenient, effective and rapid disinfection of hard surfaces and equipment.
  • Fast bactericidal action against MRSA, E. coli and a broad range of other clinically relevant micro-organisms, with 99.9999% efficacy validated to European standards.
  • Quick-drying, no-residue formulation (70% IPA blended with 0.2 μm deionised water, with no additives or impurities), allowing equipment and surfaces to be used shortly after application.
  • Broad-spectrum activity – bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and yeasticidal when used as directed.
  • Strong and durable non-woven wipes that resist tearing during use.
  • Suitable for use on all hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical device surfaces (where alcohol-compatible).
  • Preservative free, with no smearing or streaking on appropriately compatible surfaces.
  • Convenient, easy-to-dispense canister with foil seal to minimise alcohol evaporation during storage.
  • Manufactured in-house under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems and fully BPR compliant.

Indications

  • Rapid disinfection of hard, non-porous clinical and environmental surfaces (e.g. worktops, trolleys, couches, treatment chairs, door handles).
  • Surface disinfection of non-invasive medical devices and equipment between patients, where compatible with alcohol and in line with manufacturer instructions.
  • Use in healthcare, dental, aesthetic, laboratory, veterinary, hospitality and food preparation environments where infection prevention and control is a priority.
  • Ideal for use in operating theatres, casualty departments, GP surgeries, wards and other high-risk clinical settings.

Composition

  • Isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) 70% v/v (Biocidal active ingredient, BP grade).
  • Deionised water (0.2 μm filtered) approximately 30% v/v as carrier.
  • Non-woven wipe substrate (single-use synthetic/cellulose blend material).
  • No added preservatives, detergents, dyes or fragrances in the impregnating solution.

Formulation

  • Pre-saturated non-woven disinfectant wipes in a tub.
  • Impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol in 0.2 μm deionised water.
  • Quick-drying, low-residue, non-smearing formulation.
  • Single-step surface disinfection (clean visibly soiled surfaces first if required).
  • Designed specifically for hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical devices.

Packaging

  • Tub/canister containing 200 pre-saturated wipes.
  • Wipe size: approximately 200 × 220 mm.
  • Foil-sealed inner to reduce alcohol evaporation during storage.
  • Resealable lid / easy-dispense aperture for single-wipe dispensing.
  • Labelled with product name, batch number, expiry date, hazard and usage information.

Usage

  • If surfaces are visibly soiled, pre-clean using a suitable detergent or cleaning product before disinfection.
  • Open the canister, remove one wipe and immediately reseal the lid to minimise evaporation.
  • Wipe the hard, non-porous surface or compatible non-invasive medical device thoroughly, ensuring complete coverage so the surface is visibly wet.
  • Allow the surface to remain wet for the required contact time (typically up to 1 minute, depending on organism and local protocol) and leave to air dry.
  • Do not rinse or wipe dry immediately; allow to dry naturally to ensure effective disinfection.
  • Use a fresh wipe for each separate item or area to reduce cross-contamination.
  • Do not use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Dispose of used wipes in accordance with local clinical or healthcare waste procedures; do not flush.

Contraindications

  • Not for use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Do not use on invasive medical devices or equipment where the manufacturer advises against alcohol-based products.
  • Avoid use on alcohol-sensitive materials (e.g. some plastics, rubber, painted or varnished surfaces, acrylics) unless compatibility has been confirmed on a small inconspicuous area.
  • Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to isopropyl alcohol or similar solvents.
  • Do not use near naked flames, hot surfaces or other sources of ignition due to high flammability of 70% IPA.

Adverse Effects

  • Prolonged or repeated skin contact with the solution may cause dryness, irritation or cracking.
  • Vapour inhalation in poorly ventilated areas may cause transient headache, dizziness or respiratory irritation.
  • Eye contact with the liquid may cause serious irritation, redness and watering; immediate rinsing with plenty of water is required.
  • Repeated exposure may lead to skin dryness or dermatitis in susceptible individuals.
  • In cases of significant irritation, allergic reaction or respiratory symptoms, discontinue exposure and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Keep the tub tightly closed when not in use to minimise evaporation of alcohol and prevent wipes drying out.
  • Keep away from sources of ignition, open flames, sparks and hot surfaces – 70% IPA is highly flammable.
  • Do not store at very high temperatures or allow to freeze.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Dispose of empty containers and unused wipes in accordance with local regulations for flammable or clinical waste.

Duration

Used as required for routine and ad-hoc surface disinfection. Each application provides rapid antimicrobial action within seconds to under one minute; frequency of use is determined by local cleaning schedules and infection control policies.

Onset

Rapid; bactericidal and broader antimicrobial activity begins on contact, with many key micro-organisms killed in under one minute (some within 15 seconds) when surfaces are adequately wetted for the specified contact time.
