Alcohol disinfectant wipes

Description

Azowipe® 70% IPA Disinfectant Wipes - 200 wipes are professional-grade bactericidal hard surface disinfectant wipes impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for rapid and effective disinfection of non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical equipment. Each tub contains 200 strong, durable wipes (approximately 200 × 200 mm) that deliver fast kill rates against a wide range of microorganisms, including MRSA, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and many clinically relevant viruses. The quick-drying, preservative-free formulation leaves no smearing or streaking and is designed to provide 10% more alcohol per wipe than many competing alcohol wipes. Azowipe® 70% IPA wipes are BPR compliant, independently tested to multiple EN standards and manufactured in-house in Britain under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality systems.

Bnefits

  • Impregnated with 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol for convenient, efficient and rapid disinfection of hard surfaces and equipment.
  • Fast bactericidal action, killing bacteria (including MRSA and E. coli) in under one minute when used as directed.
  • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy with high bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and yeasticidal activity, validated to multiple EN standards.
  • Quick-drying, no-residue formulation (70% IPA blended with 0.2 μm deionised water, no additives or impurities) allowing surfaces and equipment to be used shortly after application.
  • Saturated with 70% IPA, providing approximately 10% more alcohol per wipe than many alternative alcohol wipes for reliable disinfection.
  • Strong and durable non-woven wipes that resist tearing and linting during use.
  • Suitable for use on all compatible hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical device surfaces.
  • Preservative-free, non-smearing and non-streaking on compatible surfaces.
  • Convenient, easy-to-dispense canister with foil seal to minimise alcohol evaporation and maintain product performance.
  • Manufactured in-house in the UK under ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems and compliant with the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).

Indications

  • Rapid disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces in healthcare, dental, aesthetic, laboratory, veterinary and cleanroom environments.
  • Surface decontamination of non-invasive medical devices and equipment (e.g. monitors, trolleys, examination couches, treatment chairs, worktops) between uses, where compatible with alcohol and manufacturer guidance.
  • Routine infection prevention and control in clinical environments such as GP and dental surgeries, treatment rooms, wards, theatres and outpatient clinics.
  • Decontamination of frequently touched environmental surfaces (e.g. door handles, switches, benches) to help reduce cross-contamination risk.

Composition

  • Isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) 70% v/v – biocidal active ingredient (BP grade).
  • Deionised water (0.2 μm filtered) approximately 30% v/v as carrier.
  • Non-woven wipe substrate (single-use synthetic/cellulose blend material).
  • No added preservatives, detergents, dyes or fragrances in the impregnating solution.

Formulation

  • Pre-saturated non-woven disinfectant wipes supplied in a tub canister.
  • 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol blended with 0.2 μm deionised water.
  • Fast-drying, low-residue, non-smearing and non-streaking formulation.
  • Single-step surface disinfection after removal of gross soiling where present.
  • Intended for professional use on hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical devices compatible with alcohol.

Packaging

  • Tub/canister containing 200 pre-impregnated wipes.
  • Standard wipe size: approximately 200 × 200 mm.
  • Foil seal under the lid to reduce alcohol evaporation during storage.
  • Easy-dispense aperture and resealable lid to allow single-wipe dispensing and maintain wipe saturation.
  • Outer labelling with product name (Azowipe® 70% IPA Disinfectant Wipes), code (e.g. CAW300 / 81103), batch number, expiry date, usage instructions and hazard information.

Usage

  • If surfaces are visibly soiled, pre-clean with an appropriate detergent or cleaning product before disinfection.
  • Open the tub, remove one wipe and immediately reseal the lid to minimise evaporation and drying.
  • Wipe the hard, non-porous surface or compatible non-invasive medical device thoroughly, ensuring complete coverage so that the surface is visibly wet.
  • Allow the surface to remain wet for the required contact time (typically up to 1 minute, according to local protocol and EN efficacy data) to ensure effective disinfection.
  • Leave the surface to air dry; do not wipe dry immediately, so that adequate contact time is achieved.
  • Use a fresh wipe for each separate item or area to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Do not use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Dispose of used wipes as clinical or general waste according to local regulations; do not flush down toilets.

Contraindications

  • Not for use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Do not use on invasive medical devices or in situations where the device manufacturer contraindicates alcohol-based disinfectants.
  • Avoid use on alcohol-sensitive materials (e.g. some plastics, rubber, acrylics, painted or varnished surfaces) unless compatibility has been confirmed by testing on a small, inconspicuous area.
  • Contraindicated in users with known hypersensitivity or allergy to isopropyl alcohol or similar solvents.
  • Do not use near naked flames, hot surfaces, sparks or other sources of ignition due to high flammability of 70% IPA.

Adverse Effects

  • Prolonged or repeated skin contact with the impregnating solution may cause dryness, irritation or cracking, and can lead to contact dermatitis in susceptible individuals.
  • Eye contact with the liquid can cause serious irritation, redness and watering; immediate thorough rinsing with water is required.
  • Inhalation of vapours in poorly ventilated areas may cause transient headache, dizziness or respiratory irritation.
  • Repeated exposure to vapour may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
  • If signs of allergic reaction or significant irritation occur (skin rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty), discontinue exposure and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
  • Keep the tub tightly closed when not in use to minimise alcohol evaporation and prevent wipes from drying out.
  • Keep away from all sources of ignition, including open flames, sparks and hot surfaces – 70% IPA is highly flammable.
  • Do not store at very high temperatures or allow to freeze.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Dispose of empty containers and unused wipes in accordance with local regulations for flammable and/or clinical waste.

Duration

Used as required for routine and ad hoc surface disinfection. Each application provides rapid antimicrobial activity within seconds to under one minute; frequency of use is determined by local cleaning schedules and infection prevention and control policies.

Onset

Rapid onset \u2013 antimicrobial activity begins on contact, with many key microorganisms (including MRSA, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and several viruses) achieving required log reductions within 15\u201360 seconds when the surface is adequately wetted for the validated contact time.
