Description

B. Braun Injekt Syringes 20 ml - Luer Slip - 2-Piece are sterile, single-use hypodermic syringes designed for aspiration and injection of fluids in combination with appropriate medical devices via clinically intended access routes. This version is a 20 mL capacity 2-piece syringe with an eccentric Luer slip tip and no attached needle, supplied individually sterile-packed in a box of 100. The Injekt Solo range features a distinctive green plunger for easy volume recognition, a highly transparent barrel with clear graduation, a safe plunger backstop and smooth, steady plunger movement. The syringes are made from polypropylene and polyethylene, are silicone-oil free and contain no natural rubber latex or DEHP, making them suitable for a wide variety of medical and laboratory applications where reliable fluid handling and clear dosing are required.

Bnefits

  • 20 mL 2-piece hypodermic syringe with eccentric Luer slip connector, suitable for a broad range of injection and aspiration tasks.
  • Distinctive green plunger for easy recognition of filling volume and improved visibility during dosing.
  • Smooth, steady plunger operation for controlled aspiration and injection of fluids.
  • Large, stable finger grips to support secure handling and ergonomic use, even when wearing gloves.
  • Highly transparent barrel with high-contrast, permanent black graduation marks for accurate and easy-to-read volume measurement.
  • Safe plunger backstop designed to prevent accidental plunger withdrawal and loss of fluid.
  • Individually sterile-packed, helping to maintain sterility until point of use and reducing cross-contamination risk.
  • Not made with natural rubber latex, reducing the risk of latex-related allergic reactions.
  • Not made with DEHP and manufactured silicone-oil free, supporting compatibility with a wide range of clinical applications and patient sensitivities.
  • Box of 100 syringes provides cost-effective bulk supply for hospitals, clinics and laboratories.

Indications

  • Single-use hypodermic syringe for aspiration and injection of fluids in medical and laboratory settings.
  • Use in combination with suitable needles or medical devices via standard Luer slip connection for intravascular, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intracutaneous and other clinically intended injection routes when appropriate.
  • Preparation, measurement and administration of injectable medicines, solutions or flushes, when used with compatible devices and in accordance with local protocols.
  • General-purpose fluid handling in hospital wards, outpatient clinics, GP surgeries, emergency departments and laboratory environments.
  • Situations where a 20 mL volume with clear graduation and controlled plunger movement is required for accurate dosing or fluid transfer.

Composition

  • Barrel material: highly transparent polypropylene.
  • Plunger/piston rod material: polyethylene, green-coloured for enhanced visibility.
  • Plunger seal: 2-piece syringe design without an additional elastomeric rubber gasket; sealing is achieved by the plastic plunger geometry.
  • Connector: eccentric Luer slip male connector manufactured to ISO 594 / ISO 80369-7 standards.
  • Silicone oil-free internal surface (no silicone oil lubrication).
  • Latex-free construction (not made with natural rubber latex).
  • DEHP-free and PVC-free as specified for Injekt Solo syringes.

Formulation

  • 2-piece single-use syringe with Luer slip connector and without attached needle.
  • 20 mL nominal capacity with 1.0 mL graduation scale for dosing and measurement.
  • Eccentric Luer slip tip configuration, facilitating certain injection angles and reducing dead space with appropriate needle selection.
  • Smudge-resistant, high-contrast black graduation printed on a transparent barrel for accurate reading.
  • Safe plunger backstop to prevent unintentional plunger removal.
  • Supplied sterile, single-packed, intended for single use only and to be discarded after use.

Packaging

  • Each syringe is individually packaged in a sterile blister or peel-pack to maintain sterility until point of use.
  • Box of 100 individually sterile-packed syringes per sales unit.
  • Outer carton labelled with product name, volume (20 mL), connector type (Luer slip, eccentric), 2-piece design, sterility information, latex/DEHP-free status, manufacturer details and lot/expiry information.
  • Shipper cartons for bulk logistics, containing multiple boxes of 100, used for distribution to hospitals, clinics and wholesalers.

Usage

  • Check the packaging before use; do not use the syringe if the individual sterile pack is damaged, opened or expired.
  • Open the sterile pack immediately before use using aseptic technique and remove the syringe without contaminating the tip or plunger.
  • If required, attach a compatible sterile needle or medical device to the Luer slip connector by pushing firmly onto the tip and securing with a slight twist to ensure a leak-free connection.
  • Draw up the required fluid by pulling back on the green plunger while the needle or device is immersed in the solution or connected to the fluid source, ensuring no air is drawn in unnecessarily.
  • Expel any air bubbles by gently tapping the barrel and advancing the plunger until only fluid remains at the tip, then adjust to the exact desired volume using the clear graduation scale.
  • Administer or transfer the fluid according to local clinical protocols, taking appropriate precautions for the specific route of administration and fluid being handled.
  • Do not exceed the 20 mL nominal volume or attempt to force the plunger beyond the piston backstop.
  • After use, do not recap needles unless local sharps safety policy requires a specific technique; immediately dispose of the entire syringe (and needle, if attached) into an approved sharps container.
  • Do not reuse or resterilize; these syringes are designed and validated for single use only.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if individual sterile packaging is damaged, opened or past the expiry date, as sterility can no longer be guaranteed.
  • Not suitable for use as an implant or for any application requiring long-term contact with tissue or vasculature.
  • Do not use for injection of fluids that are incompatible with polypropylene/polyethylene materials or with Luer slip connectors, according to the fluid manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Use only with compatible needles and medical devices that conform to relevant Luer connection standards to avoid leakage or disconnection.
  • Not intended for reuse; reuse can lead to infection, cross-contamination or device malfunction.

Adverse Effects

  • No direct adverse effects are expected from the syringe materials when used as intended, as it is latex-free, DEHP-free and silicone-oil free.
  • Improper use, such as reuse of the syringe or failure to maintain aseptic technique, may result in infection or cross-contamination.
  • Use of excessive force on the plunger or connectors may cause leakage, disconnection or breakage, potentially leading to under- or over-delivery of medication.
  • Incorrect attachment or removal of needles or other sharp devices can result in needlestick injuries to healthcare workers if sharps safety procedures are not followed.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature within the range specified on the packaging, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
  • Keep in original outer cartons until required to protect from dust, moisture and mechanical damage.
  • Do not expose to freezing conditions or excessive heat that could damage packaging or compromise material integrity.
  • Protect from chemical vapours or solvents that could degrade plastics or printing.
  • Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised personnel.
