Broad-spectrum disinfectant concentrate for salon/barber tools and surfaces

Description

Barbicide Solution 16 oz is a hospital-grade, broad-spectrum disinfectant concentrate designed for use in salons, barbershops, spas and other beauty or aesthetic settings. When diluted per instructions, it provides germicidal, fungicidal, virucidal and pseudomonacidal action against a wide range of pathogens including HIV-1, hepatitis B & C viruses, staphylococci (including MRSA), Pseudomonas, fungi and more. It is used to disinfect hard, non-porous instruments (like scissors, combs, shears, razors), implements, tools, and surfaces (metal, plastic, glass). The iconic blue solution is widely recognized in professional beauty settings as a standard for hygiene and infection control.

Bnefits

  • Broad-spectrum disinfectant — effective bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal and pseudomonacidal action, including against HIV-1, hepatitis B & C, Herpes, MRSA, and other pathogens.
  • Suitable for non-porous salon/barber tools and surfaces (metal, plastic, stainless steel, glass — combs, shears, razors, salon chairs, sinks, counters).
  • Rust-resistant formulation protecting metal tools and shears during immersion.
  • Widely accepted and EPA-registered disinfectant complying with salon/health-care hygiene standards.
  • Relatively simple dilution and use instructions, making it easy to implement in busy salon/barber workflows.

Indications

  • Disinfection of hard, non-porous barbershop and salon instruments (combs, shears, razors, brushes, clips, etc.) before and between clients.
  • Disinfection of non-porous surfaces and workstations — countertops, sinks, chairs, bowls, tools trays in salons/spas.
  • Use in professional beauty, barbershop, spa, tattoo, nail salon, and other aesthetic / personal care environments requiring sterilisation/disinfection of instruments and surfaces.

Composition

  • Active ingredient: Alkyl (50% C14, 40% C12, 10% C16) dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride — 5.12% by volume.
  • Other constituents/inert ingredients include sodium nitrite, solvents, water — per Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
  • Proprietary formula including rust-inhibitors to protect metal tools during immersion.

Formulation

  • Liquid concentrate (dark blue liquid) to be diluted prior to use.
  • When diluted (2 oz concentrate to 32 oz water) yields a ready-to-use disinfectant solution for immersion or surface disinfection.

Packaging

  • 16 fl oz (approx. 473 mL) concentrate bottle of Barbicide Solution for dilution. Common salon packaging.

Usage

  • Dilute properly before use: mix 2 oz (¼ cup) of Barbicide concentrate with 32 oz (4 cups) of water to prepare a ‘hospital-grade’ disinfectant solution.
  • For instruments and tools (combs, shears, razors, brushes, clipper blades, etc.): thoroughly clean tools with soap/water first, then immerse completely in the diluted Barbicide solution for at least 10 minutes.
  • After immersion, rinse tools with clean water, dry thoroughly before next use. Fresh solution should be prepared daily or whenever the solution appears diluted or soiled.
  • For surfaces: apply diluted solution using a cloth, sponge, mop or spray so as to wet the surface thoroughly; maintain contact time of 10 minutes before allowing to air dry.
  • Do not mix with other chemicals, and do not use on porous surfaces or skin. Use only on hard, non-porous surfaces and implements.

Contraindications

  • Do not use on porous items, untreated wood, fabric, leather, or skin — only for inanimate non-porous tools and surfaces.
  • Do not mix with other chemicals, detergents, or disinfectants.
  • Not suitable for critical medical device sterilization (only for general salon/barber disinfection) — not intended for invasive medical instruments.

Adverse Effects

  • Causes skin and eye irritation on contact — may irritate or burn skin or eyes; use gloves and eye protection when handling concentrate.
  • Flammable liquid — avoid open flames, sparks, heat when handling concentrate.
  • Prolonged immersion of metal without proper rinsing and drying could lead to corrosion if rust-inhibitor is insufficient or washing/rinsing is inadequate. (Users typically rinse and dry after disinfection.)

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, sparks or open flames.
  • Keep container tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children.
  • Store away from incompatible chemicals; do not mix with other cleaning agents or disinfectants.
