Description
Calypso Kids Suncream SPF50 - 150ml is a high-protection children’s sun lotion designed to protect delicate skin from harmful UVA and UVB radiation. The light, non-greasy and water-resistant formula offers SPF50 broad-spectrum protection and contains gentle moisturisers to help replenish the natural skin oils lost through exposure to sun, wind and water. The lotion is photostable, meaning it maintains its level of sun protection between applications, and it is formulated with hypoallergenic ingredients suitable for children’s sensitive skin. Usage
- Apply generously and evenly to all exposed skin 20–30 minutes before sun exposure.
- Ensure full coverage of commonly missed areas such as ears, neck, shoulders, backs of knees and tops of feet.
- Reapply frequently to maintain protection, especially after sweating, swimming, towel-drying or prolonged sun exposure.
- Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken or irritated skin.
- Ideally perform a patch test on a small area of skin before first use, especially in very sensitive individuals.
- For best protection, use in conjunction with other sun-safety measures such as protective clothing, hats, sunglasses and seeking shade during peak sun hours.
- Keep babies and young children out of direct sunlight; extra caution should be taken with children under 6 months (who should generally not be exposed to direct sun).
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients listed on the label (e.g. fragrance components such as coumarin, phenoxyethanol or other excipients).
- Do not use on broken, inflamed or severely sunburnt skin.
- Discontinue use if irritation, redness or rash develops and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
Adverse Effects
- Possible mild skin irritation, redness or allergic reaction in individuals sensitive to one or more ingredients (e.g. fragrance, preservatives).
- Stinging or irritation if the product enters the eyes.
- As with all cosmetic products, serious adverse reactions are rare but should be reported via appropriate pharmacovigilance/cosmetovigilance channels.
Storage Conditions
- Store below 25°C where possible and protect from direct sunlight and excessive heat to maintain product quality.
- Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.
- Do not freeze.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children when not being applied under supervision.
- Observe the period-after-opening (PAO) symbol on the packaging (typically 12 months) and do not use beyond this period or after the printed expiry date.
Duration
Use throughout periods of sun exposure; reapply at least every 2 hours and after swimming, perspiring or towel-drying.
Onset
Protective effect begins as soon as the product is correctly applied and absorbed (typically within 20\u201330 minutes of application).
