Alcohol pre-injection wipes / skin cleansing swabs
Description
Cutisoft Pre-Injection Wipes are individually wrapped, single-use non-woven skin cleansing swabs saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol. They are designed to disinfect skin prior to injections, reduce skin bacterial count, and remove adhesive residue from plasters or dressings. Supplied in a box of 100 swabs — ideal for frequent injections such as insulin use or clinical procedures requiring sterile preparation.
Bnefits
- Saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol for rapid and effective skin disinfection before injections.
- Individually wrapped and single-use to maintain sterility and reduce risk of cross-contamination.
- Convenient and portable format, easy to carry and use in clinical, home-care or diabetic self-injection settings.
- Also useful for cleaning skin before other procedures (e.g. tattooing, microneedling) or removing adhesive residue from dressings or plasters.
- Non-woven swab material does not leave fibres on skin — suitable for sensitive skin and clean injection sites.
Indications
- Pre-injection skin disinfection (intramuscular, subcutaneous or intradermal injections, e.g. insulin, aesthetic injections, vaccines).
- Skin cleansing before minor procedures such as blood sampling, piercings, microneedling or tattooing (where local protocol allows).
- General skin cleansing before applying adhesive plasters or dressings, or when removing adhesives from skin.
- Home-care use by patients requiring frequent injections (e.g. diabetics) or clinics performing repeated injections or skin procedures.
Composition
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol solution (active antiseptic agent).
- Non-woven viscose or similar wipe substrate (disposable).
- No added dyes or heavy detergents — designed for gentle yet effective skin cleansing.
Formulation
- Single-use, individually sealed, non-woven alcohol-impregnated wipe/swab.
- Pre-saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol for immediate antiseptic action.
- Disposable and intended for external skin use only, on intact skin.
- Compact size (often approx. 3 cm × 3 cm or 60 × 30 mm depending on variant) for targeted skin cleansing.
Packaging
- Box containing 100 individually wrapped pre-injection swabs (Cutisoft / Leukoplast brand).
- Each swab sealed in sachet to maintain sterility until use.
- Retail and medical-supply packaging labelled with brand name, quantity (100 swabs), and indications for use as pre-injection skin cleansing.
Usage
- Wash hands thoroughly before handling the wipe.
- Open a single swab package and remove the wipe.
- Apply the wipe to the skin area intended for injection, wiping in one direction to clean the surface.
- Allow the alcohol to evaporate fully and skin to air-dry before performing the injection.
- Discard the used wipe immediately; do not reuse.
- Wash hands again after completing the procedure.
- Do not apply to broken, irritated or inflamed skin. Do not use for wound cleaning or on open wounds.
Contraindications
- Do not use on broken, inflamed, or infected skin or open wounds.
- Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or open mucosal surfaces.
- Not for internal use or ingestion.
- Do not use if allergic to isopropyl alcohol or any component of the wipe.
Adverse Effects
- Possible transient skin dryness, irritation or redness after use, especially on sensitive skin or frequent use.
- Rare risk of allergic contact dermatitis in those sensitive to isopropyl alcohol or wipe substrate.
- If applied repeatedly to large areas, excessive alcohol exposure could cause drying or skin barrier disturbance; use moisturiser if needed.
- Not to be used on open wounds — improper use may delay healing or cause irritation.
Storage Conditions
- Store sealed boxes in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
- Keep away from heat sources, open flames or sparks (alcohol-based).
- Protect from prolonged sunlight or high humidity to maintain wipe integrity and alcohol potency.
- Keep package sealed until use; once opened, use wipes in a timely manner and reseal remaining if resealable or store sealed in a clean, dry container.
- Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised persons.
Duration
Not a treatment \u2014 single-use wipe: the disinfection effect is immediate; allow alcohol to dry (few seconds) before injection.
Onset
Rapid \u2014 antiseptic action begins on contact due to 70% isopropyl alcohol; skin should be disinfected within seconds after wiping and drying.
