Sharps disposal kit with needle-resistant gloves
Description
The Evolution Sharps Disposal Kit with TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L is a large sharps and biohazard clean-up kit designed for the safe removal, containment and disposal of needles, syringes, lancets and other small sharps in workplaces and public environments. Based on the core Evolution Sharps Disposal Kit, it includes a 65 cm Safe Hand grabbing device for picking up sharps and other hazardous materials at a safe distance, stainless steel and polypropylene forceps, two 0.25 L sharps bins, disinfectant sprays and wipes, and multiple pairs of disposable gloves, all housed in a durable yellow Evolution plastic case (approx. 30 × 35 × 12 cm). This variant adds a large pair of TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430 needle-resistant gloves to provide enhanced cut and puncture protection for the user when handling or approaching discarded sharps. The kit is intended as a single-location, multi-use sharps disposal solution for trained staff in healthcare, facilities management, local authorities and similar settings.
Bnefits
- Provides an all-in-one solution for the safe removal, containment and disposal of discarded sharps such as needles, syringes and lancets.
- Includes a 65 cm Safe Hand grabbing device that allows sharps and other biohazardous objects to be picked up at a distance, reducing the risk of needlestick injury.
- Supplied with both stainless steel and polypropylene forceps to allow precise handling of sharps and small contaminated items directly into the sharps bins.
- Two 0.25 L sharps bins provide secure containment for used needles and other sharps, reducing the risk of injury and cross-contamination before final incineration.
- Disinfectant spray and disinfectant wipes support decontamination of the surrounding area following sharps removal.
- HypaTouch disposable gloves (multiple pairs) allow the responder to maintain barrier protection and change gloves between tasks or incidents.
- The TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L gloves add high cut and puncture resistance, including over the fingertips, providing extra protection against needlesticks when used as a liner or primary glove.
- Durable plastic Evolution case protects contents from dust and damp and is clearly identifiable for rapid access in an emergency.
- Compact case size (approx. 30 × 35 × 12 cm) makes the kit easy to store in workplaces, vehicles and public sites where exposure to discarded sharps is a risk.
Indications
- Safe removal and disposal of discarded needles, syringes, lancets and similar sharps found in and around workplaces, public areas, toilets, parks and car parks.
- Use by trained staff in healthcare facilities, local authorities, housing associations, transport hubs, leisure facilities, schools, custodial settings and cleaning/maintenance services.
- Sharps management for organisations whose employees may encounter discarded sharps during their everyday duties (e.g. caretakers, grounds staff, cleaners, security staff).
- Provision as part of workplace health and safety equipment for managing sharps-related biohazard incidents in compliance with local sharps and needlestick policies.

- Case dimensions approximately 30 cm (height) × 35 cm (width) × 12 cm (depth) as stated by multiple distributors.
- Internal layout designed to accommodate the Safe Hand grabbing device, sharps bins, forceps, sprays, wipes, disposable gloves and the TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L gloves.
- Typically sold as a single kit per unit; outer transit cartons used by distributors may contain multiple kits for bulk orders.
Usage
- Intended for use by trained personnel familiar with sharps disposal procedures and local health and safety policies.
- Before attending an incident, visually assess the scene and don appropriate PPE, including HypaTouch disposable gloves and, where additional puncture protection is required, the TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L gloves.
- Open the Evolution case and remove the Safe Hand grabbing device; extend and lock it as per its design (if applicable).
- Use the Safe Hand grabbing device to pick up needles, syringes, lancets or other sharps without directly approaching them with the hands wherever possible.
- If necessary, use the stainless steel or polypropylene forceps to carefully pick up small sharps and place them directly into an open 0.25 L sharps bin, keeping the sharps pointed away from the body.
- Ensure sharps are placed point-first into the sharps bin without overfilling; when the fill line is reached or the bin is two-thirds full, close and lock the lid according to the sharps bin manufacturer’s instructions.
- Use HypaClean disinfectant spray and disinfectant wipes to disinfect the immediate area where sharps were found, in line with local infection-control guidance.
- After completion, remove and dispose of used HypaTouch disposable gloves as clinical waste in accordance with local regulations; TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider gloves can be retained and reused if uncontaminated and if permitted by local policy, or disposed of as appropriate clinical or contaminated PPE waste if visibly contaminated or damaged.
- Seal the sharps bins and arrange for disposal via an approved clinical waste route (e.g. incineration) according to local sharps disposal rules; do not place sharps bins into general waste.
- Restock or replace the kit after use to ensure all components (sprays, wipes, gloves, sharps bins) are available for future incidents.
Contraindications
- Not intended for use by untrained individuals; users should be trained in safe sharps handling and local needlestick protocols.
- Not suitable for disposal of large clinical waste items beyond the capacity or intended design of the 0.25 L sharps bins.
- Do not use if the Evolution case or internal components (e.g. sharps bins, grabbing device) are visibly damaged, compromised or missing.
- Do not use the TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L gloves if the user has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any component material of the gloves.
- Sharps bins must not be overfilled or forced closed when above the fill line, as this can increase the risk of sharps protruding or injuring handlers.
- Not intended as a substitute for formal clinical sharps bins installed in healthcare settings for routine sharps disposal at point of use; this is a portable incident-response kit.
Adverse Effects
- If sharps handling protocols are not followed, there remains a risk of needlestick injury and potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Improper closure or overfilling of sharps bins may increase the risk of sharps protrusion and injury to users or waste handlers.
- Users with sensitive skin or allergies may experience irritation or allergic reactions to materials in the disposable gloves, TurtleSkin gloves or disinfectant products.
- Inhalation of aerosol from disinfectant spray in poorly ventilated areas may cause transient respiratory or mucosal irritation in susceptible individuals.
- Extended or repeated wear of any PPE gloves may cause sweating or minor skin maceration, especially if used without breaks.
Storage Conditions
- Store the kit in a clean, dry environment, protected from excessive moisture, dust and direct sunlight.
- Keep within typical room temperature conditions recommended by distributors (e.g. approximately 5–25 °C); avoid extremes of heat and cold that may damage plastic components, sharps bins or disinfectant products.
- Ensure the Evolution case is closed securely when not in use to maintain the cleanliness of internal contents.
- Store in an accessible but secure location known to staff, away from unauthorised access, particularly by children.
- Check expiry dates on disinfectant sprays, wipes and disposable gloves periodically and replace any components that have expired or been used.
- Inspect the TurtleSkin CP Neon Insider 430L gloves periodically for signs of wear, damage or degradation and replace them if punctured, torn or significantly worn.
