Sporicidal surface cleaning and disinfection wipes
Description
Incidin OxyWipe S is a ready-to-use, sporicidal surface cleaning and disinfection wipe based on a patented Hi-speed H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) formulation. It provides broad-spectrum efficacy (bactericidal, yeasticidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal, virucidal and sporicidal, including Clostridioides difficile spores), while the active ingredient decomposes into water and oxygen, leaving no active residues. The wipes are designed for rapid, one-step cleaning and disinfection of non-invasive and semi-critical medical devices and general healthcare surfaces, with excellent material compatibility and short contact times.
Bnefits
- Patented Hi-speed H2O2 hydrogen peroxide formulation with broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy
- Sporicidal activity, including efficacy against Clostridioides difficile spores
- Bactericidal, yeasticidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal and virucidal performance verified to multiple EN standards
- Active ingredient decomposes into water and oxygen, leaving no active residues after drying
- Ready-to-use wipes that clean and disinfect in one step, supporting efficient workflows
- Short contact times for many pathogens (from around 1–2 minutes for bactericidal activity, depending on test method)
- Excellent material compatibility for a wide range of healthcare surfaces
- Low odour and residue-free drying for user and patient comfort
- EU-wide approval as a biocidal product under Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) 528/2012 (PT2)
- CE-marked medical device (Class IIb) for surface disinfection of medical devices
Indications
- Rapid cleaning and disinfection of non-invasive medical device surfaces (e.g. examination couches, trolleys, worktops, external parts of equipment)
- Disinfection by wiping of semi-critical medical devices when immersion is not possible (e.g. probes and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) probes), followed by rinsing with potable water as per instructions for use
- Routine and terminal disinfection of environmental surfaces in hospitals, clinics, dental practices, general practice surgeries and care homes
- Situations requiring sporicidal activity (e.g. areas with risk of Clostridioides difficile contamination), according to local infection prevention protocols
- Use as a ready-to-use biocidal product for general hard, non-porous surfaces where hydrogen-peroxide-based disinfection is appropriate
Composition
- Hydrogen peroxide 1.5 g per 100 g (1.5% w/w) as the active ingredient
- Aqueous base with stabilisers and excipients (non-ionic surfactants and formulation aids as specified in the safety data sheet)
- Pre-impregnated non-woven wipe substrate (single-use)
Formulation
- Ready-to-use sporicidal surface cleaning and disinfection wipes
- Hydrogen-peroxide-based (Hi-speed H2O2) broad-spectrum formulation
- Non-alcohol, low-residue aqueous disinfectant system
- Single-use, pre-impregnated non-woven wipes in resealable flowpack
Packaging
- Flowpack containing 100 standard wipes (approx. 20 cm x 20 cm) for this SKU
- Outer case: typically 6 x 100-wipe flowpacks (as per Ecolab packaging information)
- Resealable label / lid on flowpack to minimise wipe drying between uses
Usage
- For routine surface disinfection, remove one wipe from the flowpack and immediately reseal the pack to prevent remaining wipes from drying out.
- Wipe the target surface thoroughly, ensuring it is completely and evenly wetted and that all areas and crevices are contacted by the liquid from the wipe.
- Ensure the surface remains visibly wet for at least the recommended contact time for the relevant microorganism (refer to the product label and local protocols; typical contact times range from 1–2 minutes for bactericidal activity up to 30–60 minutes for sporicidal claims).
- Allow the surface to air dry; do not rinse after routine environmental surface disinfection unless specifically indicated by the device manufacturer or local policy.
- For semi-critical medical devices (e.g. probes) where immersion is not possible, wipe the device as described and then rinse thoroughly with water of drinking quality after the required contact time, in line with the medical device manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not use on surfaces known to be sensitive to oxidative agents (such as marble, copper or brass) or on materials contrary to the instrument manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Use biocides safely; always read the label and product information before use and follow local infection prevention and occupational safety guidance.
- For professional use only; use appropriate protective equipment if indicated in the safety data sheet (e.g. in case of prolonged skin contact or splash risk).
Contraindications
- Do not use on surfaces or devices that are incompatible with oxidative agents (e.g. natural stone such as marble, or metals such as copper and brass), as discolouration or damage may occur.
- Not intended for direct application to skin or mucous membranes.
- Not suitable for use on surfaces explicitly contraindicated by the medical device manufacturer or where hydrogen-peroxide-based disinfectants are prohibited.
- Do not mix with other cleaning or disinfecting agents; avoid simultaneous use with other chemical disinfectants on the same surface unless compatibility has been confirmed.
- Do not use on powered equipment in a manner that could allow liquid ingress into electrical components contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Adverse Effects
- Prolonged or repeated skin contact with the liquid from the wipe may cause dryness, irritation or whitening due to hydrogen peroxide.
- Eye contact with the solution may cause irritation and should be avoided; rinse cautiously with water for several minutes if eye exposure occurs and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
- Inhalation of aerosols or mists generated from vigorous wiping or use in poorly ventilated areas may cause mild respiratory irritation in sensitive individuals.
- On incompatible or sensitive materials, the product may cause discolouration, corrosion or other surface damage due to its oxidising properties.
Storage Conditions
- Store in the original, tightly closed container/flowpack in a cool, dry place below approximately 25 °C.
- Protect from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
- Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised persons; for professional use only.
- Use within 3 months after first opening the flowpack, in accordance with the manufacturer’s stated in-use shelf life.
- Do not freeze and do not store near incompatible materials or strong reducing agents.
Duration
Required surface contact times vary by target microorganism and test method: typically from about 30 seconds to 2 minutes for many bactericidal and virucidal claims, and up to 15\u201360 minutes for sporicidal activity (including C. difficile) according to EN and VAH test data. Users should follow the specific contact times stated on the local product label and instructions for use.
Onset
Onset of antimicrobial effect is rapid; virucidal activity against some viruses is demonstrated from around 30 seconds and bactericidal activity from approximately 1\u20132 minutes of wet contact time under specified test conditions.
