Dissecting / tissue forceps (toothed)
Description
The Instrapac Mcindoe Toothed Forceps 504 is a sterile, single-use tissue / dissecting forceps with 1:2 toothed jaws, intended for grasping and holding tissue or foreign bodies in surgical wounds. Made from medical grade surgical stainless steel and provided individually in a sterile, easy-to-open pack, it offers a cost effective and ready-to-use alternative to reusable instruments, reducing risk of cross-infection while ensuring high quality and reliable tissue handling for surgical, dermatology and aesthetic procedures. The instrument is CE-marked and designed in compliance with relevant medical device directives.
Bnefits
- Single-use sterile instrument reducing cross-infection risk between patients.
- High-quality medical grade surgical stainless steel construction for consistent performance and durability.
- 1:2 toothed jaw design gives a secure grip on tissue or foreign bodies, preventing slippage during dissection or wound handling.
- Cost-effective alternative to reprocessing reusable instruments — saves time, resource, and reduces sterilization burden.
- Individually packed in an easy-open sterile pouch for convenience and aseptic presentation.
- Compliant with medical device regulations (CE-marked), suitable for use in surgical, dermatology and aesthetic settings.
Indications
- Grasping and holding tissue during surgical, dermatological or aesthetic procedures
- Handling of foreign bodies or tissue in surgical wounds
- Holding or removing wound dressings or packing material during procedures or wound care.
- Use in minor procedures, outpatient surgeries, dermatology excisions, wound closure and aesthetic clinics where sterile, single-use instruments are preferred
Composition
- Medical grade surgical stainless steel (forceps body and jaws)
- Sterile single-use packaging (sterile barrier pouch) containing 1 forceps unit.
Formulation
- Instrument type: toothed tissue / dissecting forceps (single-use)
- Jaw design: 1:2 toothed interlocking jaws for secure grip on tissue
- Handles: finger-ring style handles (typical for surgical forceps)

- Sterile barrier maintained until opening, packaged for single use in clinical settings.
- Pack clearly labelled, with product code, CE mark, batch/lot number, expiry date and single-use instructions.
Usage
- Before use – inspect the sterile pack; do not use if the seal or wrapper is broken, damaged or wet.
- Check expiry date and product code as per local protocols.
- Open the pouch using aseptic technique, avoiding contamination of the instrument.
- Use the forceps to grasp and hold tissue, foreign bodies, dressings, or packing material as required during surgical or wound procedures. Do not use for cutting or as a substitute for scissors.
- After use, immediately dispose of the instrument as clinical/sharps waste according to local policy.
- Do not attempt to re-sterilize or reuse the forceps; the device is strictly single-use.
Contraindications
- Do not use if sterile packaging is compromised (open, damaged or wet).
- Do not reuse or reprocess; reuse may lead to infection risk, corrosion or mechanical failure.
- Not suitable for heavy-duty tissue manipulation or cutting — intended for tissue grasping and wound handling only
- Not to be used for non-professional, domestic or recreational purposes.
Adverse Effects
- Potential tissue trauma or bruising if excessive force is applied or if used improperly
- Risk of infection if aseptic technique is not followed or if sterility is compromised
- Risk of user injury (sharps hazard) if forceps are mishandled or disposal is improper
- Possible mechanical failure (e.g. misalignment, loss of grip) if used beyond intended tissue type or physical load
Storage Conditions
- Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature away from direct heat, moisture or direct sunlight.
- Keep in original sterile packaging until immediately before use.
- Avoid stacking heavy objects or compressing the packages to prevent damage to sterile barrier
