Fluid resistant procedure face mask

Description

LHM Procedure Mask PINK x 50 is a box of 50 single-use, fluid-resistant procedure face masks in light pink, designed for use in clinical and healthcare environments. Manufactured by LHM Medical Technology, the masks are ASTM Level 3 and EN 14683 Type IIR compliant, providing high protection against droplets, splashes and aerosols while remaining light and comfortable for prolonged wear. Each mask is a 3-ply, earloop-style, non-woven medical mask with high bacterial and particulate filtration efficiency (BFE/PFE ≥98%) and fluid resistance up to 160 mmHg. The masks are CE-marked and marketed in the UK as MHRA-approved, making them suitable for use by healthcare professionals in settings such as clinics, dental practices, hospitals and aesthetic treatment rooms.

Bnefits

  • ASTM Level 3 and EN 14683 Type IIR fluid-resistant procedure mask providing high protection in clinical environments
  • 3-ply construction with BFE and PFE ≥98% to effectively filter bacteria and particles
  • Fluid resistance up to approximately 160 mmHg, helping protect against blood and bodily fluid splashes
  • CE-marked medical device and marketed as MHRA-approved for use in the UK healthcare sector
  • Comfortable elastic earloops designed to reduce pressure on the ears during extended wear
  • Soft, skin-friendly inner layer to enhance comfort and reduce irritation
  • Lightweight, breathable non-woven materials supporting easy respiration while maintaining protection
  • Loose-fitting but secure design suitable for routine procedures and patient contact situations
  • Supplied in a box of 50 masks, convenient for clinics and practices with moderate to high throughput
  • Available in light pink colour to coordinate with clinic branding or differentiate staff roles

Indications

  • Use as a fluid-resistant procedure mask in healthcare and clinical environments
  • Protection for healthcare workers and clinic staff during patient procedures where droplets, splashes or sprays may occur
  • Use when patients are in isolation to protect them from potential contaminants from staff or other patients
  • Appropriate for dental, medical, aesthetic and other outpatient settings requiring ASTM Level 3 / Type IIR barrier performance
  • General use in infection control protocols where a high-filtration, fluid-resistant medical mask is indicated

Composition

  • Three-layer non-woven medical mask construction
  • Outer layer: waterproof non-woven fabric designed to resist liquid penetration
  • Middle layer: melt-blown polypropylene filter treated with electret technology to enhance particle and bacterial filtration
  • Inner layer: soft, absorbent non-woven or tissue-like material designed for skin contact and moisture absorption
  • Elastic earloops for securing the mask behind the ears
  • Adjustable nose strip (mouldable metal or plastic insert) to improve facial seal over the nose bridge
  • Mask dimensions approximately 175 mm x 95 mm (adult size), as per standard LHM ASTM Level 3 masks

Formulation

  • ASTM F2100-19 Level 3 fluid-resistant procedure mask
  • EN 14683:2019 + AC:2019 Type IIR medical face mask
  • Three-layer, earloop-style mask for single use
  • Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE): ≥98%
  • Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE): ≥98%
  • Differential pressure (ΔP): <6.0 mmH2O/cm² (breathability within Type IIR limits)
  • Fluid resistance: 160 mmHg
  • Flame spread: Class 1 (where specified for LHM Level 3 procedure masks)
  • Colour: light pink

Packaging

  • Box of 50 light pink LHM procedure masks
  • Masks supplied as flat, pleated, earloop-style masks ready for immediate use
  • Retail and clinic-ready carton with product and regulatory information on outer packaging
  • Cartons may be supplied in outer cases for bulk orders to clinics or distributors

Usage

  • Perform hand hygiene with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub before handling the mask.
  • Remove one mask from the box, ensuring it is intact and free from visible damage or contamination.
  • Orient the mask so that the coloured (pink) outer layer faces away from the face and the nose strip is at the top.
  • Place the mask over the nose and mouth, then position the earloops around each ear to secure the mask.
  • Mould the nose strip firmly over the bridge of the nose to minimise gaps and improve the seal.
  • Adjust the mask so it fully covers the nose, mouth and chin, ensuring it fits snugly against the sides of the face.
  • Avoid touching the front of the mask during use; if adjustment is necessary, perform hand hygiene immediately afterwards.
  • Replace the mask if it becomes damp, visibly soiled, damaged or difficult to breathe through, or in accordance with local infection control policies.
  • Remove the mask by handling only the earloops, taking care not to touch the front surface, and discard immediately in an appropriate clinical or household waste container depending on setting.
  • Perform hand hygiene immediately after mask removal and disposal.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to any component materials of the mask (for example specific non-woven fabrics, metals in the nose strip or elastic materials in the earloops).
  • Not intended for use on infants or very young children for whom the mask size is unsuitable or may present a suffocation risk.
  • Not designed to provide respiratory protection equivalent to a respirator (e.g. N95/FFP2/FFP3) in situations where such respirators are specifically required by local guidelines.
  • Should not be reused, washed or reprocessed; single use only.
  • Do not use if the packaging is damaged, the masks are visibly contaminated or the product is past its marked expiry date.

Adverse Effects

  • Possible skin irritation, redness or discomfort on the face or behind the ears, particularly with prolonged wear.
  • Occasional difficulty breathing or subjective breathlessness in individuals with underlying respiratory compromise when wearing any procedure mask.
  • Fogging of spectacles or eye protection if the nose strip is not adequately moulded, which may affect visibility.
  • Pressure-related discomfort at the ears or nose bridge with extended use.
  • In rare cases, allergic contact reactions to materials used in the mask, nose strip or earloops.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
  • Keep in the original packaging until use to protect against dust, moisture and contamination.
  • Avoid storing near chemicals, solvents or strong odours that may affect the mask materials.
  • Protect from crushing, deformation or other physical damage to the box and contents.
  • Observe any manufacturer-stated storage temperature range and expiry date on the packaging.

Duration

Single-use device; each mask is intended to be worn for the duration of a single clinical encounter or procedure, or for a limited continuous period in line with local infection control guidance, and must then be discarded.

Onset

Immediate protective effect upon correct application and fit over the nose and mouth.
