70% IPA electronic screen cleaning wipes
Description
PDI Easy Screen Wipes (EES1060 / XP00379) are pre-saturated cleaning wipes containing 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA), specifically designed for quick and effective cleaning of touch-screen healthcare equipment and other high-use electronic surfaces. Supplied in a canister of 100 low-lint, fast-drying wipes, they remove dirt, dust, grime and fingerprints while leaving a streak-free, residue-free finish. Easy Screen wipes are compatible with a wide range of materials commonly found in medical electronics, including polycarbonate, Corning Gorilla Glass, sapphire glass, aluminium silicate, acrylic, glass, etched glass and stainless steel. They are intended for cleaning external surfaces of energised electronic equipment such as monitors, tablets, electronic medical record devices, control panels, whiteboards and procedural lights in clinical environments.
Bnefits
- Contains 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for effective removal of dirt, dust, grime and fingerprints from electronic screens and high-touch surfaces.
- Formulated to clean without leaving streaks, residue or smears, helping to maintain clear, readable displays.
- Fast-drying, low-lint wipes reduce downtime of equipment and minimise fibre residue on sensitive surfaces.
- Designed and compatibility-tested for use on a wide range of materials including polycarbonate, Corning Gorilla Glass, sapphire glass, aluminium silicate, acrylic, glass, etched glass and stainless steel.
- Suitable for cleaning external surfaces of energised electronic equipment such as touch screens, tablets, EMR devices, monitors, keyboards, control panels and procedural lights.
- Ready-to-use, single-use wipes supplied in a convenient canister that dispenses one wipe at a time to help control usage and reduce waste.
- Supports infection prevention and equipment care as part of a layered approach to environmental hygiene in healthcare settings.
Indications
- Routine cleaning of external surfaces of touch-screen healthcare equipment and other electronic devices requiring 70% IPA-compatible cleaning.
- Removal of dirt, dust, fingerprints, smudges and light grime from monitors, tablets, mobile devices, keyboards, control panels, whiteboards and light switches.
- Use in hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, diagnostic departments and other healthcare environments where sensitive electronic equipment is used.
- Cleaning of procedural lights and other medical equipment surfaces where manufacturer guidance permits use of 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes.
Composition
- Active cleaning ingredient: 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (propan-2-ol).
- Remaining liquid phase: purified water and minor formulation components as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Carrier: low-lint non-woven wipe material impregnated with 70% IPA solution.
Formulation
- Pre-saturated disposable cleaning wipe containing 70% isopropyl alcohol in water.
- Low-lint, fast-drying wipe material designed for use on electronic and high-touch surfaces.
- Classified as a flammable liquid/solid containing flammable liquid due to isopropyl alcohol content.
Packaging
- Canister containing 100 pre-saturated Easy Screen wipes.
- Wipe dimensions (Medisave configuration): approximately 230 mm x 160 mm per wipe.
- Outer case configuration from manufacturer: 6 canisters of 100 wipes (6 x 100) for bulk supply.
- Resealable dispensing lid designed to present one wipe at a time and reduce evaporation.
Usage
- Ensure equipment manufacturer’s instructions permit cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes before use on a specific device or surface.
- Open the canister lid, pull the first wipe through the dispensing opening and close the lid to minimise evaporation.
- With the device powered on standby or as instructed by the manufacturer, gently wipe the external surface to remove dirt, dust and fingerprints, ensuring full coverage of the area being cleaned.
- Avoid excessive saturation of vents, open ports, connectors or seams; do not allow liquid to pool or penetrate into the internal electronics.
- Allow the surface to air dry completely; the 70% IPA solution will evaporate rapidly, leaving a streak-free finish.
- Discard the used wipe after a single use; do not re-use wipes between devices or patients.
- Repeat as necessary as part of the facility’s routine cleaning protocol for electronic equipment and high-touch surfaces.
- Keep the canister tightly closed when not in use and store away from heat, sparks, open flames and other sources of ignition.
- Follow local infection prevention and control policies and any specific device manufacturer recommendations when incorporating Easy Screen wipes into cleaning protocols.
Contraindications
- Do not use on surfaces or devices where 70% isopropyl alcohol is contraindicated or not recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Do not use on damaged, cracked or unsealed screens or surfaces where liquid ingress could harm internal components.
- Not intended for use on patients’ skin, mucous membranes, open wounds or invasive medical devices.
- Do not use near open flames, hot surfaces, sparks or other sources of ignition due to flammability.
- Individuals with known hypersensitivity to isopropyl alcohol should avoid direct contact with the liquid and vapour.
Adverse Effects
- May cause serious eye irritation on direct contact with eyes.
- Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause dryness, redness or mild irritation in sensitive individuals.
- Inhalation of high concentrations of vapour (e.g. in poorly ventilated areas) may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache or respiratory irritation.
- As a flammable product, misuse near ignition sources may pose a fire risk.
- Ingestion of the liquid is harmful and may cause irritation of the mouth, throat and gastrointestinal tract; the product is not intended for ingestion.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other sources of ignition.
- Keep canister tightly closed when not in use to minimise evaporation and contamination.
- Store upright to prevent leakage and keep out of direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised personnel.
- Dispose of empty canisters and used wipes in accordance with local regulations for flammable or alcohol-containing waste.
Duration
Not applicable \u2013 used as a single-use surface cleaning wipe; contact time is limited to the wiping and drying period as part of routine cleaning.
Onset
Immediate \u2013 cleaning action begins as soon as the wipe is applied; visible soil and fingerprints are typically removed within seconds as the surface is wiped and the alcohol evaporates.
