Description

Reliwipe Moist Saline Cleansing Wipes (Pack of 5) are individually wrapped, sterile, alcohol-free disposable wipes impregnated with a simple, safe 0.9% sodium chloride (saline) aqueous cleansing solution. Manufactured by Reliance Medical under the Reliwipe brand, these soft, non-woven fabric wipes are designed for gentle cleansing of skin and minor wounds and for removing blood, exudate or debris prior to dressing application. The saline solution is skin-friendly and suitable for all skin types, while the extra-strong, soft fabric is kinder to the skin than crepe or paper wipes. Each wipe is single-use and individually sealed to maintain sterility, making them ideal for inclusion in statutory workplace first-aid kits, sports and school kits, home first-aid boxes and clinical settings, including pre- and post-procedure cleansing in dermatology and aesthetic practice on intact or minor-wound skin, where appropriate.

Indications

  • Cleansing of minor cuts, grazes and superficial wounds prior to application of a dressing.
  • Removal of visible dirt, blood, exudate or topical residues from intact or superficially broken skin around a minor wound.

Composition

Usage

  • For external use only.
  • Open the outer pack and select a single sachet immediately before use.
  • Tear open the individual sachet along the indicated notch and remove the wipe.
  • Gently cleanse the area of skin or minor wound by wiping away from the wound, using each part of the wipe only once, until visible dirt and debris are removed.
  • Avoid excessive rubbing, particularly on delicate or highly sensitive skin.
  • Allow the area to air-dry briefly or gently blot with a sterile gauze if required, then apply an appropriate dressing or proceed with the planned procedure according to local protocol.
  • Use one wipe per patient per cleansing episode; discard the used wipe and empty sachet in clinical or general waste as appropriate.
  • Do not re-use wipes and do not re-saturate with other fluids.
  • Do not use in the eyes or on large or heavily contaminated wounds unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Always follow local first-aid or clinical guidelines in addition to the product instructions.

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to sodium chloride solutions or to any component of the wipe material (rare).
  • Do not use on individuals with a specific medical recommendation to avoid saline or aqueous cleansing solutions on the affected area.
  • Not intended for use as a substitute for irrigation of deep, heavily contaminated or serious wounds which require professional medical treatment.
  • Use with caution in very large or heavily exuding wounds and seek medical advice where appropriate.

Adverse Effects

  • Mild, transient stinging or discomfort may occur when used on open or irritated skin.
  • Rarely, localised skin irritation or contact sensitivity to the wipe material or saline solution.
  • If significant redness, rash, pain or signs of infection develop, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep in the original packaging until use to maintain sterility.
  • Avoid exposure to extremes of temperature and do not freeze.
  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging or if individual sachets are damaged or opened.

Duration
