Professional peel neutralizer / post-peel solution
Description
Professional, foaming sodium bicarbonate neutralizing solution designed to rapidly stop the action of NeoStrata ProSystem chemical peels. The solution is sprayed or applied over treated skin to neutralise unbuffered glycolic and other acids, providing precise control of peel contact time and helping to reduce irritation, burning and post-peel discomfort. Intended for clinic and doctor use as part of in-office NeoStrata peel protocols.
Bnefits
- Rapidly neutralises unbuffered acids in NeoStrata ProSystem chemical peels to stop exfoliation on demand.
- Allows precise control over peel timing, helping ensure safer and more predictable treatment outcomes.
- Foaming action provides a clear visual cue of ongoing neutralisation; foam dissipates when neutralisation is complete.
- Sodium bicarbonate-based formula effectively raises skin pH to terminate acid activity.
- Helps calm and soothe skin after chemical peel, reducing burning, stinging and irritation.
- Optimised for use with NeoStrata ProSystem glycolic and multi-acid peels.
- Large 975 ml (33 fl oz) refill size suitable for high-volume or busy clinics.
- Easy-to-use liquid format that can be decanted into a spray bottle or applied with gauze/pads.
- Formulated for professional use only, aligning with in-clinic safety and procedural standards.
Indications
- Neutralisation of NeoStrata ProSystem professional chemical peels (e.g. glycolic acid and multi-acid peels).
- Termination of peel activity on the face or body at the desired end-point during in-office treatments.
- Post-peel calming step to reduce burning, stinging or discomfort following acid application.
- Use in aesthetic clinics, dermatology practices and medical spas following manufacturer peel protocols.
Composition
- Aqua (Water)
- Glycerin
- Propylene Glycol
- Sodium Bicarbonate
- Glycine
- Benzalkonium Chloride
Formulation
- Foaming, aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution with humectants (glycerin, propylene glycol) to help maintain skin comfort.
- Slightly alkaline neutraliser formulated to raise skin pH and terminate acid peel activity.
- Contains glycine, an amino acid that can support buffering and skin comfort.
- Includes benzalkonium chloride as a preservative/antimicrobial to maintain product integrity.
- Clear liquid designed for spray or gauze application as part of NeoStrata ProSystem peel kits.
Packaging
- 975 ml (33 fl oz) professional refill bottle intended to replenish smaller spray or dispensing bottles (e.g. 200 ml clinic bottle).
- Typically supplied as part of NeoStrata ProSystem professional peel range via authorised distributors.
- Outer packaging and labelling include professional-use-only indication, ingredients, safety information and usage directions.
- Designed for back-bar/clinic use rather than direct retail to consumers.
Usage
- For professional, in-clinic use only as directed within NeoStrata ProSystem peel protocols.
- After the desired peel contact time or when clinical end-point is reached, apply the neutraliser generously to all areas where the peel solution was applied.
- Apply by spraying directly onto the treated skin or by saturating gauze/pads and wiping over the peel area.
- Allow the product to foam; continue application until foaming is no longer produced, indicating complete neutralisation.
- Ensure eyes and lips are properly protected and covered during use; avoid direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
- Once neutralisation is complete and foaming has stopped, rinse the treated area thoroughly with water if recommended in the specific peel protocol.
- Follow with post-peel soothing products and broad-spectrum sunscreen according to the clinic’s protocol.
- Discard any decanted product according to clinic hygiene policies; do not contaminate the bulk container.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to sodium bicarbonate, benzalkonium chloride or any listed ingredient.
- Do not use on patients with a history of allergic reactions to similar neutralising solutions without appropriate testing or medical oversight.
- Avoid use on areas with open wounds, active infections or severe dermatitis unless specifically directed by a physician within a controlled protocol.
- Not intended for direct consumer/home use; for professional in-office procedures only.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water.
Adverse Effects
- Transient sensations of tingling, warmth or mild irritation during neutralisation, especially immediately after strong acid peels.
- Rarely, redness, dryness or mild irritation may persist for a short time post-procedure, typically resolving with appropriate post-peel care.
- In very rare cases, allergic contact reactions to components such as benzalkonium chloride may occur; discontinue use and seek medical evaluation if significant swelling, pruritus or rash develops.
- Improper or inadequate use (e.g. insufficient neutralisation) may contribute to prolonged acid exposure and increase risk of peel-related complications such as burns or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Storage Conditions
- Store at controlled room temperature, generally 15–25 °C, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
- Keep the container tightly closed when not in use to prevent contamination and maintain foaming performance.
- Do not freeze.
- Store in a professional/clinic environment out of reach of unauthorised personnel and children.
- Follow local regulations for storage of professional cosmetic/peel ancillary solutions.
Duration
Used as a single-step neutralisation phase immediately following each application of NeoStrata ProSystem peels; not used as a standalone ongoing treatment. Frequency corresponds to how often professional peel sessions are performed (typically every 2\u20136 weeks, as determined by the treating professional).
Onset
Neutralisation begins immediately upon contact with peel-treated skin, with rapid pH elevation and visible foaming; neutralisation is generally complete within seconds to a few minutes, as indicated by the cessation of foaming and reduction in stinging or burning sensations.
