Acne / Spot Treatment Gel
Description
A triple-action pore treatment gel (formerly marketed as Spot Treatment Gel) designed to target clogged pores, acne blemishes and oily skin. Combines a blend of Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA) — Acetyl Mandelic Acid, Citric Acid and Tartaric Acid — with Salicylic Acid (BHA) and Pro-Vitamin A (Retinyl Acetate) to exfoliate dead skin cells, clear impurities, reduce oiliness, and help blemished skin heal. Supplied as a 15 g gel tube.
Bnefits
- Targets clogged pores and reduces appearance of blemishes/acne by exfoliating and clearing impurities.
- Helps reduce excess sebum and oily shine over time — good for oily / acne-prone skin.
- Refines pore appearance and helps smooth skin texture.
- Promotes healing of existing blemishes and helps prevent new ones from forming.
- Fragrance-free and formulated as a lightweight gel (less likely to clog pores compared to heavy creams).
Indications
- Acne-prone or oily skin with clogged pores or excess sebum.
- Presence of blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads, or pimples.
- Skin prone to shine / oiliness needing pore-clearing treatment.
- Users looking for spot treatment rather than full-face exfoliation (apply only on affected areas).
Composition
- Salicylic Acid (BHA) — active acne-fighting exfoliant.
- Acetyl Mandelic Acid (AHA) — part of AHA blend for exfoliation.
- Citric Acid (AHA) — exfoliant / pH adjuster.
- Tartaric Acid (AHA) — exfoliant / pH adjuster.
- Retinyl Acetate (Pro-Vitamin A) — cell-communicating / skin renewal agent.
- Excipients and vehicle agents: Alcohol Denat., Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, PEG-8, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Arachis Hypogaea (Peanut) Oil, Aqua/Water, plus standard preservatives and gel base components.
Formulation
- Leave-on gel (spot treatment), 15 g tube / 0.5 oz.
Packaging
- 15 g (0.5 oz) squeezable gel tube.
Usage
- Cleanse skin thoroughly before application.
- Apply a thin layer directly to affected/blemished areas once or twice daily (some sources mention up to 3 times daily).
- For best results apply before moisturiser.
- During daytime use, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen when exposed to sun (due to exfoliating acids).
- Avoid applying to entire face; use only on spots/blemishes.
Contraindications
- Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient (e.g., salicylic acid, peanut oil, retinyl acetate, alcohol).
- Do not use on broken, irritated or inflamed skin beyond typical acne lesions.
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding (as per some retailer cautions).
Adverse Effects
- Possible skin dryness, redness, or irritation — especially in sensitive skin or if overused. (common with AHAs/BHAs)
- Risk of increased sensitivity to sunlight — use sunscreen to avoid sunburn or hyperpigmentation.
- Potential allergic reaction (rare) — especially for users allergic to peanut oil (Arachis Hypogaea Oil).
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Keep tube tightly closed when not in use.
- Keep out of reach of children. (As per general external-use cosmetics guidance)
Duration
Use for duration until blemishes resolve; repeated as needed (spot-treatment). Continuous use not typically advised over large areas.
Onset
Some improvement in blemish appearance may be seen within a few days; more consistent pore clarity and reduced breakouts over several weeks with regular spot-treatment. (Manufacturer and distributor claims)
