Description
Nova Multipurpose Sanitizer is a concentrated, quaternary ammonium compound-based cleaner, disinfectant and deodoriser supplied in a 5 litre container. Formulated under the British Nova brand by Cleenol Group Ltd, it is designed for routine cleaning and disinfection of hard surfaces in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, surgeries, kitchens, canteens, hotels, schools, offices and other commercial and industrial environments. The product cleans, sanitises and deodorises in a single step and is suitable for use on floors, walls, paintwork, equipment, sinks, drains, washrooms, lavatories and waste bins. It complies with the European Suspension Test BS EN 1276 for bactericidal activity and is classified as a food-safe cleaner/sanitiser when used as directed.

Usage
- For professional use only; always read the product label, technical data sheet and local hygiene protocols before use.
- Heavy-duty cleaning and disinfection: Dilute at approximately 1:20 (250 ml Nova Multipurpose Sanitizer per 5 litres of warm water). Apply to heavily soiled or contaminated surfaces, scrub where necessary and allow at least 5–10 minutes contact time. Rinse where food contact or regulatory requirements apply.
- General routine cleaning: Dilute at approximately 1:40 (125 ml per 5 litres of warm water). Mop, wipe or scrub surfaces, ensuring complete wetting. Allow a minimum of 5 minutes contact time for full bactericidal effect.
- Light-duty cleaning and deodorising: Dilute at approximately 1:50 (100 ml per 5 litres of warm water). Use for maintenance cleaning of lightly soiled surfaces and for odour control in washrooms and waste areas.
- Preparation of solutions: Always prepare fresh solutions in clean containers. Do not mix Nova Multipurpose Sanitizer with other detergents, disinfectants or chemicals.
- Application: Apply by mop, cloth, sponge or suitable scrubber-dryer equipment. Ensure even coverage of the surface and maintain wet contact for at least 5 minutes to achieve BS EN 1276-compliant disinfection.
- Rinsing: Rinse surfaces that will come into direct contact with food or where local regulations require a potable water rinse after disinfection. For many general floor and hard-surface applications, rinsing is often not necessary, but follow site-specific protocols.
- Personal protective equipment: Wear appropriate gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate or strong solutions, especially for extended use or in poorly ventilated areas.
- Spill management: In case of spillage, absorb with sand or inert material and dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Rinse residual product to drain with plenty of water if permitted.
Contraindications
- Not for use on skin, mucous membranes, open wounds or as a medicinal or cosmetic product.
- Not for ingestion or internal use.
- Avoid use on surfaces that are known to be incompatible with quaternary ammonium compounds (e.g. certain soft metals or materials where QAC residues are contraindicated) without testing on an inconspicuous area.
- Do not mix with other cleaning agents, disinfectants, acids, oxidising agents or anionic surfactant-based products, as this may reduce efficacy or generate hazardous reactions.
- Avoid uncontrolled discharge into surface water or the environment; harmful to aquatic organisms with long-lasting effects in concentrated form.
- Use only in accordance with local food hygiene regulations when applying to food-contact surfaces, ensuring appropriate rinsing if required.
Adverse Effects
- Concentrate may cause skin irritation on prolonged or repeated contact.
- Causes serious eye damage in concentrated form; contact with eyes can result in pain, redness and potential corneal injury.
- May be harmful if swallowed; ingestion can lead to irritation of the mouth, throat and gastrointestinal tract.
- Concentrated product is harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects if released in significant quantities.
- Inhalation of mists or aerosols from improper use (e.g. high-pressure spraying in confined spaces) may cause respiratory irritation.
Storage Conditions
- Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- Keep away from extreme temperatures; protect from frost and excessive heat and from direct sunlight.
- Store upright in a designated chemical storage area, away from food, drink and animal feed.
