Non-sharps cardboard clinical waste carton

Description

25 Litre Clinisafe Yellow Cardboard Carton x 10 is a yellow, 25 L cardboard clinical waste container system supplied as a banded case of 10 flat-packed cartons. Constructed from FSC approved recycled cardboard with a strong rigid body and a robust, rip-resistant integral polyethylene liner/bag, it provides a safe, sustainable and cost-effective solution for the disposal of non-sharps soft clinical waste, including infectious, pharmaceutical, offensive and certain gypsum wastes. The flat-pack, ultra-lightweight design reduces storage requirements, transport costs and associated carbon emissions while supporting the reduction of single-use virgin plastic. The range is certified to UN3291 and NF X 30-507 for compliant clinical waste containment.

Bnefits

  • Safe, compliant containment of non-sharps soft clinical waste
  • Manufactured from FSC approved recycled cardboard with approximately 70% recycled content for the 25 L size
  • Integral heavy-duty, rip-resistant polyethylene liner with closure ties to reduce risk of leaks and exposure
  • Flat-packed, ultra-lightweight design to minimise storage space, transport loads and carbon emissions
  • Strong, rigid body that remains stable in use and stackable when full
  • Temporary and final closure features to help prevent overfilling and spillages during handling and transport
  • Simple ‘pop up’ / pop-and-lock assembly for quick setup in clinical areas
  • Colour-coded yellow carton for clear waste segregation in line with clinical waste regulations
  • Integrated carry handle(s) for easier manual handling and transport to final disposal
  • UN3291 and NF X 30-507 certified clinical waste packaging solution

Indications

  • Disposal of non-sharps soft clinical waste requiring incineration (e.g. infectious soft waste)
  • Disposal of medicinally contaminated soft waste in line with yellow clinical waste stream guidance
  • Use in medium usage clinical environments such as hospital wards, treatment rooms, outpatient clinics, GP and aesthetic practices for segregated clinical waste
  • Support of waste segregation and environmental sustainability programmes by reducing single-use plastic sharps-style containers where non-sharps solutions are appropriate

Composition

  • Strong rigid recycled cardboard outer body (FSC approved board, approximately 70% recycled content for 25 L size)
  • Integral heavy-duty polyethylene liner / bag with ties for closure
  • Printed colour-coded yellow exterior with labelling and barcoding for waste stream identification and traceability

Formulation

  • 25 L nominal capacity yellow cardboard clinical waste carton with integral liner, supplied flat-packed, certified for non-sharps clinical waste

Packaging

  • Case (band) of 10 x 25 L Clinisafe yellow cardboard cartons
  • Supplied flat-packed to reduce storage volume and facilitate transport
  • Each assembled container: nominal capacity 25 L with usable capacity of approximately 23 L (typical dimensions around 267 × 267 × 370 mm)
  • Pallet quantities (manufacturer level): typically 800 units per pallet for 25 L cartons, as per Clinisafe Cardboard Carton Range data

Usage

  • Remove a flat-packed carton from the band of 10 and unfold following the indicated fold lines.
  • Assemble the carton using the simple ‘pop up’ / pop-and-lock mechanism until the body is rigid and stable.
  • Open and position the integral polyethylene liner inside the carton, ensuring the liner fully lines the interior with the top edge folded over the opening as directed.
  • Place the assembled container in an appropriate clinical area or plinth/stand if used, ensuring it is clearly accessible but not obstructing walkways.
  • Deposit only appropriate non-sharps soft clinical waste into the container, respecting local yellow clinical waste stream guidance and any printed fill line.
  • Use the temporary closure feature between uses or when moving the container within the facility to minimise risk of spillage.
  • When the container approaches the recommended fill level, use the liner ties and the carton’s final closure mechanism to secure the liner and close the carton fully.
  • Once permanently closed, handle the container using the carry handle and transport it via approved clinical waste routes for final treatment or incineration, in accordance with local regulations.
  • Do not reopen the container after final closure; treat as sealed clinical waste packaging ready for disposal.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for sharps disposal; needles, blades and other sharps must be placed in approved sharps containers
  • Not intended for bulk free liquids beyond the capacity and performance of the integral liner; follow local guidance for liquid waste
  • Do not use if the carton or integral liner is visibly damaged, wet before use or compromised in a way that might affect structural integrity or leak resistance

Adverse Effects
