Description

Continu Sanitising Hand Wash 600ml is an alcohol-free, antimicrobial liquid hand soap supplied in a 600 ml foam-dispensing pump bottle. Developed for use in medical and dental environments, it is designed for surgical scrubs and for cleaning and disinfecting hands between patients and clinical sessions. The fragrance-free formulation is gentle on skin and does not cause dryness or irritation, even with frequent use. Many users report a conditioning effect and improved skin comfort compared with alcohol-based products. The hand wash is effective to EN test standards against bacteria, fungi and viruses and complies with EN 14476:2013 + A1:2015 for virucidal activity against all enveloped viruses, including coronaviruses, as independently tested by Blue Test Laboratories. Composition

Usage

  • For routine hand washing, wet hands with clean running water where available, following local hand hygiene policy.
  • Dispense an adequate amount of Continu Sanitising Hand Wash into the palm using the foam pump dispenser.
  • Rub hands together thoroughly to generate a rich lather, ensuring complete coverage of palms, backs of hands, fingers, thumbs, fingertips and spaces between the fingers, as well as around the wrists.
  • Continue washing for the contact time specified in local protocols (commonly at least 20–30 seconds for routine handwash; longer for surgical scrub, typically 2–3 minutes or as specified by institutional guidelines).
  • Rinse hands thoroughly with clean running water to remove all soap residues.
  • Dry hands carefully using a clean, single-use paper towel or other approved hand-drying method.
  • Use the product between patients and procedures in accordance with local infection prevention and control policies.
  • Do not mix the soap with other hand hygiene products in the same dispenser and do not attempt to refill the container from bulk product unless using an approved refill system.
  • Avoid contact with eyes; in case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to any ingredient in the formulation (e.g. alkyl ether sulfates or coconut-derived surfactants).
  • Not intended for use on broken, extensively damaged or severely inflamed skin unless advised by a healthcare professional.
  • For external use only; do not use in or around the eyes, mouth or on other mucous membranes.
  • Do not ingest or use as a general body wash outside of hand and forearm hygiene.

Adverse Effects

  • Under normal conditions of use, no significant adverse effects are expected and the product is generally well tolerated.
  • In rare cases, mild transient skin irritation, dryness or redness may occur, particularly in individuals with very sensitive skin; discontinue use if irritation persists and seek medical advice if necessary.
  • Eye contact with the liquid may cause mild irritation, watering or redness; rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
  • Ingestion may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort; rinse mouth with water and seek medical advice if symptoms arise or persist.

Storage Conditions

  • Store upright at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep between approximately 5 °C and 40 °C as indicated in the safety data sheet.
  • Keep container tightly closed when not in use to prevent contamination or leakage.
  • Do not freeze and avoid exposure to excessive heat.
  • Store out of reach of children and unauthorised persons.
  • Avoid release of large quantities into drains or the environment; dispose of residues and empty containers in accordance with local regulations.

Duration

Used as needed for each handwashing or surgical scrub episode; each application lasts for the duration of the washing procedure until hands are rinsed and dried. A 600 ml bottle provides multiple applications for ongoing daily use.

Onset

Antimicrobial action begins immediately during application and lathering; product is effective against bacteria, fungi and enveloped viruses within standard EN test contact times (typically from 30 seconds when used as directed).
