Body fat-dissolving / lipolytic injection
Description
Deso Body (Desobody) is a next-generation body fat-dissolving (lipolytic) injectable solution from Love Cosmedical, formulated specifically for the treatment of stubborn, localised fat deposits on the body. It is part of Love Cosmedical’s Fatline range and contains an optimally balanced concentration of sodium deoxycholate 1.25% (a deoxycholic acid precursor) combined with lipolytic and draining co-ingredients such as caffeine and equisetum extract. When injected into subcutaneous fat by a trained medical professional, Deso Body disrupts the membranes of adipocytes, leading to liquefaction of fat that is then removed gradually via the lymphatic system. This minimally invasive, non-surgical alternative to liposuction is indicated for contouring areas such as abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, back fat, bra rolls, hips, knees and other small localised fat pockets. Deso Body has been reported to be more effective and more comfortable, with less irritation, than older fat dissolvers based on phosphatidylcholine, and offers long-lasting, often permanent results when combined with a healthy lifestyle.
Bnefits
Targets and dissolves localised body fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise.
Uses sodium deoxycholate 1.25% – a well-studied fat-dissolving agent – optimised for body use.
Co-formulated with caffeine and equisetum to support lipolysis, microcirculation and drainage.
Non-surgical, minimally invasive alternative to liposuction for suitable candidates.
Improves body contour and silhouette in areas such as abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, knees, arms, back fat and bra rolls.
Can help smooth the appearance of cellulite while reducing localised adiposity.
Results are effectively permanent in treated fat cells, provided weight is maintained.
Treatment protocols typically require only a small number of sessions spaced 5–6 weeks apart.
Reported to cause less irritation and greater comfort than older phosphatidylcholine-based fat dissolvers.
Manufactured by a specialised Italian aesthetic medicine company with a strong safety and innovation focus.
Indications
Injection lipolysis for localised body fat (adiposity) in adults.
Reduction of small to moderate fat pockets on the body that persist despite diet and exercise.
Body contouring and silhouette refinement in areas such as abdomen, flanks, hips, inner and outer thighs, arms, knees, back (including bra rolls), buttocks and other localised deposits.
Improvement of skin firmness and smoothing of cellulite appearance associated with localised adiposity.
Patients with stable or near-normal body weight who seek targeted reduction, not general weight loss.
Composition
Formulation
Sterile, clear aqueous injectable solution for subcutaneous use only.
Sodium deoxycholate 1.25% body-strength concentration with adjuvant lipolytic and draining agents.
Non-animal origin components; solution designed for gradual adipocyte lysis and lymphatic clearance of liquefied fat.
Intended exclusively for professional use in medical/aesthetic settings by suitably trained practitioners.
Packaging
Box containing 5 vials x 10 ml each (total 50 ml).
Each vial is a single-patient, multi-injection unit of sterile solution for subcutaneous injection into localised fat deposits.
Outer carton printed with product name (Deso Body / Desobody), brand (Love Cosmedical), batch number and expiry date.
Professional-use labelling with instructions, indications and basic safety information (full protocol via distributor/manufacturer materials).
Usage
Professional use only: Deso Body must be administered exclusively by doctors or appropriately trained healthcare professionals experienced in injection lipolysis and local anatomy.
Injection depth: strictly subcutaneous; avoid intramuscular and intradermal injection.
• If the skin-fat fold (pinch test) is < 3 cm: inject approximately 1/2 vial ("bulb") per 10 cm² of localised fat.
• If the skin-fat fold is ≥ 3 cm: inject approximately 1 full vial per 10 cm² of localised fat.
• Distribute product across the area using multiple injection points or a fanning/cross-hatching pattern, respecting maximum per-session volumes.
Session frequency:
• Sessions are typically spaced 5–6 weeks apart to allow for fat cell lysis and lymphatic clearance.
• Most treatment plans involve 2–4 sessions depending on area size, fat thickness and response.
Technique and preparation:
• Conduct full medical history, physical examination and photographic documentation.
• Mark treatment zones with the patient in standing position.
• Clean and disinfect the skin thoroughly; observe aseptic technique at all times.
• Local anaesthetic (topical and/or injected) may be mixed with Deso Body or administered separately, according to local protocol and manufacturer’s compatibility guidance.
• Use appropriate needles or cannulas for subcutaneous injection; aspirate where required and inject slowly.
• Expect local redness, swelling, tenderness, warmth and possible bruising for several days.
• Encourage the patient to wear a compression garment in some body areas (e.g. abdomen, flanks, thighs) if recommended by the practitioner.
• Advise avoidance of NSAIDs that may increase bruising unless medically necessary; use paracetamol for pain relief if suitable.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot baths, sunbeds and direct heat exposure for a few days post-treatment.
• Maintain good hydration and a healthy diet to support lymphatic clearance.
• Schedule follow-up 4–8 weeks after each session to review results and decide on additional sessions.
Important:
• Do not inject into or near major vessels or nerves; take care in anatomically sensitive regions.
• Do not exceed recommended per-session doses or treat excessively large areas in a single sitting.
• Always refer to the latest product protocol/IFU supplied by the manufacturer or official distributors.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity or known allergy to sodium deoxycholate, caffeine, equisetum, benzyl alcohol, sodium benzoate or any other component of the solution.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Patients under 18 years of age.
Obesity or generalised adiposity where injection lipolysis is not appropriate as a weight-loss method.
Active local or systemic infection, inflammation or skin disease at the intended injection site.
Significant hepatic, renal or uncontrolled metabolic disease where additional fat metabolism may be problematic, unless carefully assessed and cleared by a physician.
Severe autoimmune disease, immunosuppression or uncontrolled systemic illness where wound healing may be impaired.
Bleeding disorders, anticoagulant therapy or platelet dysfunction unless risk is assessed and managed.
History of severe allergic or anaphylactic reactions to injectable agents.
Previous permanent fillers, implants or foreign bodies within the intended treatment region, unless compatibility and safety are clearly established.
Injections into areas with very thin subcutaneous fat where safe depth cannot be ensured (risk of dermal necrosis or muscular involvement).
Adverse Effects
Very common, usually transient: pain, burning or stinging at the injection site; erythema; swelling; warmth; induration and tenderness.
Common: bruising, haematoma formation, itching, transient nodules or palpable lumps as fat and inflammatory response settle.
Occasional: temporary alteration of skin sensation (paraesthesia, numbness, hypersensitivity) in the treated area.
Less common: local infection (cellulitis, abscess) particularly if aseptic technique is inadequate; requires medical treatment.
Rare but more serious: excessive inflammation, extended induration or prolonged nodules that may require medical management.
Very rare but severe complications (as with all deoxycholic acid–based lipolytic injections): inadvertent intravascular injection causing tissue ischaemia/necrosis, nerve injury, ulceration or scarring; these require urgent specialist care.
Possible hyperpigmentation or textural changes in predisposed individuals, particularly with excessive inflammation or sun exposure during healing.
Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to any component of the product, presenting with persistent swelling, rash, pruritus or systemic symptoms.
Storage Conditions
Store in a cool place away from direct light, as specified by the manufacturer (generally controlled room temperature; do not freeze).
Keep vials in the original outer carton until use to protect from light and contamination.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
Do not use if the vial is damaged, cracked, leaking or if the solution is discoloured or contains particulates.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Dispose of used vials, needles and syringes as clinical sharps waste according to local regulations.
Duration
Treatment is delivered as a short series of injection sessions, most commonly 2–4 sessions spaced 5–6 weeks apart. Fat cells destroyed by Deso Body are considered permanently removed; however, overall duration of visible contouring results depends on maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle. Follow-up or additional sessions may be performed if residual pockets persist or new fat develops.
Onset
Cell lysis and lymphatic clearance begin shortly after injection, but visible changes typically develop gradually over several weeks. Most patients start to notice contour improvement from around 3–4 weeks after treatment, with full effects usually evident 6–8 weeks after the final session.
