Description
Deso Face (often written DesoFace) is a next-generation fat-dissolving (lipolytic) injectable solution from Love Cosmedical’s FATLINE range, specifically formulated for the treatment of localised adiposity in the face and neck. It uses a lower, face-optimised concentration of sodium deoxycholate (0.5%)—a deoxycholic acid precursor that emulsifies and disrupts adipocytes—combined with co-ingredients such as caffeine and equisetum extract to promote lipid catabolism and drainage. Some distributor formulations also contain lidocaine for local anaesthesia. When injected subcutaneously by a trained medical professional, Deso Face targets stubborn fat pockets like the double chin, jowls, cheeks and jawline, gradually dissolving fat cells which are then eliminated via the lymphatic system. It offers a minimally invasive, non-surgical alternative to facial liposuction with relatively minimal downtime and less swelling compared with some older phosphatidylcholine-based fat dissolvers.
Bnefits
Specifically formulated to treat localised facial and submental (under-chin) fat, as well as jowls and neck adiposity.
Contains 0.5% sodium deoxycholate, a fat-dissolving bile salt that emulsifies adipocytes and promotes their breakdown.
Co-ingredients such as caffeine and equisetum support lipid catabolism, drainage and tissue tone.
Some presentations include lidocaine for improved treatment comfort via local anaesthesia.
Provides a non-surgical alternative to liposuction for suitable candidates with small, stubborn fat deposits.
Can improve facial contour, refine the jawline and reduce the appearance of a double chin.
Designed for patients with normal or slightly elevated body weight who have localised adiposity resistant to diet and exercise.
Reported to cause relatively less swelling and irritation compared with some older fat dissolvers while maintaining high efficacy.
Treatment sessions are relatively short and performed on an outpatient basis with minimal downtime.
Results can be long-lasting or effectively permanent in treated fat cells, assuming weight is maintained.
Indications
Localised adiposity of the face and neck in adults.
Subject to regulation as a medical device by authorities such as the MHRA in the UK when placed on that market.

Excess fat deposits in the cheeks, jowls and lower face that persist despite diet and exercise.
Small, stubborn fat pockets in the neck region.
Patients with normal or slightly elevated body weight who want non-surgical facial contouring.
Adjunctive contouring in combined aesthetic protocols, where appropriate, at the discretion of a qualified practitioner.
Composition
Formulation
Sterile, clear aqueous injectable solution for subcutaneous use in facial and cervical (neck) regions.
Sodium deoxycholate 0.5% concentration tailored for delicate facial adipose tissue, combined with caffeine and equisetum for enhanced lipolytic and draining action.
Some market presentations include lidocaine for additional patient comfort.
Non-animal origin components; the solution is designed for gradual lipolysis and lymphatic clearance rather than immediate mechanical removal.
Professional-use medical/aesthetic device to be administered only by suitably trained healthcare professionals.
Packaging
Box containing 5 vials x 10 ml each (total 50 ml).
Each 10 ml vial is intended for a single patient and possibly multiple injection points during one session, according to protocol.
Outer carton printed with Deso Face / Desoface branding, Love Cosmedical logo, batch number and expiry date.
Professional labelling indicating it is a fat-dissolving injectable for localised adiposity, for medical use by trained professionals only.
Usage
Deso Face is for professional use only and must be injected by suitably trained medical practitioners experienced in facial anatomy and intralipotherapy (e.g. doctors, prescribing nurses according to local law).
Treatment planning:
• Take a full medical history, assess localised fat distribution and rule out contraindications.
• Mark treatment areas (e.g. submental region, jowls, cheeks) with the patient in an upright position.
• Perform a pinch test to estimate subcutaneous fat thickness: protocols often use dosage adjustments based on pinch thickness.
Dosage and protocol (based on Love Cosmedical and distributor guidance):
• Use strict subcutaneous injection technique; avoid dermal and intramuscular injection.
• As a general guide, inject approximately 1/2 vial (about 5 ml) per 5 × 5 cm or 10 cm² area of localised facial fat with a pinch thickness under ~3 cm.
• Vials are distributed via multiple injection points (micro-bolus or fanning technique) across the marked area to ensure homogeneous fat exposure.
• Sessions are typically spaced every 5–6 weeks to allow full inflammatory and lipolytic response and lymphatic clearance between treatments.
• Most patients require 2–4 sessions, depending on the size of the fat pocket and individual response.
Injection technique:
• Clean and disinfect the treatment area thoroughly; follow strict aseptic procedure.
• Using a suitable needle or cannula (and aspiration where required per training), inject Deso Face into the subcutaneous fat layer, taking care to avoid vessels and nerves.
• Distribute small aliquots of product evenly throughout the target fat compartment.
• Gentle massage may be used post-injection to help distribute the solution, according to practitioner preference.
Aftercare:
• Inform patients to expect swelling, redness, tenderness and possible bruising in the treated area for several days.
• Recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, hot baths, sunbeds and alcohol for a few days after treatment.
• Advise on good hydration and a balanced diet to support lymphatic clearance.
• Advise patients to avoid applying makeup or potentially irritating products to the treated area for at least 24 hours (or according to clinic protocol).
• Schedule follow-up after 4–8 weeks to assess response and determine whether further sessions are required.
Important safety notes:
• Do not inject intravascularly or too superficially into the dermis; such errors may cause serious complications including necrosis.
• Do not exceed the recommended volume per treatment session or treat excessively large areas at once.
• Always follow the most up-to-date protocol and guidelines provided by Love Cosmedical or authorised training bodies.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity or allergy to sodium deoxycholate, caffeine, equisetum, lidocaine (in lidocaine-containing presentations), benzyl alcohol, sodium benzoate or any other ingredient in the formulation.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Patients under 18 years of age.
Obesity or generalised adiposity where localised injection lipolysis is inappropriate as a weight-loss method.
Active local or systemic infections, inflammatory skin diseases or open wounds at or near the proposed injection sites.
Significant hepatic, renal, uncontrolled endocrine or metabolic diseases (e.g. uncontrolled diabetes, severe dyslipidaemia) unless carefully evaluated and cleared by a physician.
Severe autoimmune diseases or conditions associated with impaired wound healing or tissue repair, unless risk–benefit is clearly favourable.
Coagulation disorders or ongoing anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy that significantly increases bleeding risk, unless appropriately managed.
History of severe anaphylactic reactions or multiple serious allergies.
Presence of permanent fillers, implants or other foreign bodies in the intended treatment area unless compatibility and safety are clearly established.
Very thin subcutaneous fat where safe injection depth cannot be guaranteed (e.g. certain bony facial areas or where skin pinch is minimal).
Adverse Effects
Very common and usually self-limiting: local pain or burning, stinging, erythema, swelling, warmth, tenderness and induration at the injection sites.
Common: bruising, haematoma, temporary nodules or palpable lumps as part of the inflammatory and lipolytic response.
Occasional: transient changes in skin sensation (e.g. numbness, tingling or hypersensitivity) in the treated area.
Less common: local infection (cellulitis, abscess) if aseptic technique is inadequate, requiring appropriate medical treatment.
Possible hyperpigmentation or textural changes in predisposed individuals, particularly if significant inflammation or sun exposure occurs during healing.
Rare but more serious: excessive local inflammation, prolonged induration or persistent nodules requiring medical management.
Very rare but severe complications (as with all deoxycholate-based lipolytics): tissue necrosis, ulceration, nerve damage or vascular compromise in the event of incorrect injection plane or intravascular injection; these require urgent specialist intervention.
Allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to any component, presenting with persistent swelling, rash, pruritus or systemic symptoms; in such cases treatment must be stopped and appropriate care instituted.
Storage Conditions
Store between 2°C and 25°C, as indicated by distributors such as Derma4U for Deso Face fat dissolver.
Keep vials in their original outer carton to protect them from light and contamination.
Do not freeze; avoid excessive heat or direct sunlight.
Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
Do not use vials that are cracked, leaking or if the solution appears discoloured or contains particulate matter.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Dispose of used vials, needles and syringes as clinical sharps waste in accordance with local regulations.
Duration
Treatment is usually performed as a series of 2–4 sessions spaced 5–6 weeks apart, depending on the extent of localised fat and patient response. The lipolytic effect on treated fat cells is long-lasting and generally considered permanent for those cells, though overall contour longevity depends on the patient maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle. Additional maintenance sessions can be performed if new fat accumulates or residual pockets remain.
Onset
Inflammatory and lipolytic processes begin shortly after injection, but visible changes develop gradually. Swelling typically peaks within a few days and then subsides over 1–2 weeks. Initial contour improvement is often visible from around 3–4 weeks after a session, with full results usually appreciated 6–8 weeks post-treatment. Many patients see the most noticeable contouring after the second or third session.
