Bench-top PRP/PRF laboratory centrifuge

Description

The Centrifuge PRP-LAB is a compact European-model bench-top centrifuge designed specifically for platelet-rich plasma (PRP), platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and related small-batch regenerative medicine applications. It features a brushless DC motor, programmable speed range from 300 to 4500 rpm and a digital timer (30 seconds to 99 minutes), with gentle acceleration and braking profiles to help protect blood components during centrifugation. The unit offers a 12-place rotor (“12 nests”) for standard PRP/PRF tubes, weighs approximately 7 kg and is supplied as a CE-marked and FDA-approved desktop centrifuge, suitable for use in aesthetic clinics, dental practices and small laboratories.

Bnefits

  • Purpose-designed for PRP/PRF and small-batch regenerative medicine applications in clinics and smaller labs.
  • Wide programmable speed range (300–4500 rpm) to accommodate different PRP/PRF protocols and tube types.
  • Brushless DC motor for quiet operation, low maintenance and stable speed control.
  • Gentle acceleration and braking to reduce disturbance of separated blood layers and minimise hemolysis.
  • Twelve-position rotor (“12 nests”) allows simultaneous processing of multiple PRP or PRF tubes, increasing workflow efficiency.
  • Compact desktop footprint (~7 kg) making it easy to place in treatment rooms or small laboratories.
  • European model with CE marking and FDA approval, supporting regulatory compliance in key markets.
  • Digital timer (30 seconds–99 minutes) for accurate and reproducible centrifugation cycles.
  • 3-year warranty offering reassurance on reliability and after-sales support.

Indications

  • Separation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from whole blood for use in aesthetic, dermatologic, dental, orthopaedic and regenerative medicine procedures, in line with local regulations.
  • Preparation of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and related autologous blood-derived products using appropriate protocols and tubes.
  • General low-speed centrifugation tasks in clinics and smaller laboratories where a 300–4500 rpm range and 12-place rotor are suitable.

Composition

  • Bench-top centrifuge housing with integrated control panel and digital display.
  • Brushless DC motor drive system for low-maintenance, stable-speed operation.
  • 12-place rotor (“12 nests”) designed for commonly used PRP/PRF tubes (e.g. 10–15 mL blood collection tubes), supplied as a swing-out or fixed-angle rotor depending on configuration.
  • Transparent safety lid with interlock to prevent operation when the lid is open.
  • Internal electronic control system providing programmable speed and timer settings, acceleration/braking profiles and safety monitoring.
  • Non-slip feet and vibration-damping construction to enhance stability during operation.

Formulation

  • Non-sterile, reusable electrical laboratory centrifuge (no medicinal or biological components).
  • Low-speed PRP/PRF centrifuge, desktop configuration, designed for in-clinic or small-lab use.
  • Electrical mains-powered device with digital controls and brushless DC motor.

Packaging

  • Supplied as a single bench-top centrifuge unit with rotor installed or supplied separately, depending on configuration.
  • Includes power cable and basic user documentation (user manual/quick-start guide) in the outer carton.
  • Packed in protective foam or similar protective materials within a cardboard shipping carton to prevent damage during transport.

Usage

  • Install the centrifuge on a stable, level surface in a clean, dry environment with adequate ventilation, following the user manual.
  • Connect to a suitable mains power supply as specified on the rating label and in the instructions for use.
  • Fit the appropriate rotor and tube holders if not pre-installed, ensuring they are correctly seated and secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Load PRP/PRF or other compatible tubes symmetrically and in balanced pairs or sets across the 12 nests to avoid imbalance; never run the centrifuge with unbalanced loads.
  • Set the required speed (within the 300–4500 rpm range) and run time (30 seconds to 99 minutes) according to the chosen PRP/PRF protocol or laboratory procedure.
  • Close the lid fully; confirm that the lid is locked and start the run using the control panel.
  • Allow the centrifuge to complete the cycle and come to a full stop; do not attempt to open the lid until the rotor has completely stopped and the safety interlock releases.
  • Remove tubes carefully to avoid disturbing separated layers, and proceed with PRP/PRF processing as per clinical protocol.
  • Clean the rotor and chamber regularly as instructed in the manual, and perform periodic checks for wear, imbalance or abnormal noise.
  • Do not use the centrifuge with flammable, explosive or highly volatile samples, and always follow local safety and infection-control procedures when handling blood-derived products.

Contraindications

  • Do not use with unbalanced or improperly loaded rotors, as this may cause mechanical damage or safety hazards.
  • Not suitable for high-speed or high-rcf applications beyond its specified 300–4500 rpm range.
  • Do not use in explosive atmospheres or in the presence of flammable vapours.
  • Use only with compatible tube sizes and types recommended by the manufacturer; avoid glass or plastic tubes that are not rated for the selected speed.
  • Do not operate if the lid interlock, rotor, housing or power cable appears damaged.

Adverse Effects

  • If misused or overloaded, there is a risk of tube breakage leading to sample loss and contamination inside the chamber.
  • Operating with an unbalanced load can cause excessive vibration, noise and potential mechanical damage.
  • Electrical hazard risk if the device is used with damaged power cords, in wet environments or contrary to the safety instructions.
  • Potential biohazard exposure if blood tubes leak or break and appropriate decontamination procedures are not followed.

Storage Conditions

  • Store and operate in a dry, dust-free indoor environment, within the temperature and humidity range specified in the user manual (typically room temperature, non-condensing humidity).
  • Disconnect from mains power before cleaning, maintenance or prolonged storage.
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, corrosive fumes or excessive vibration when in storage.
  • Ensure the lid is closed and the rotor secured when moving or transporting the centrifuge to prevent internal damage.

Duration

Not directly applicable; the centrifuge is a reusable device used for individual spin cycles typically lasting from a few minutes up to around 20 minutes, with total treatment duration determined by the clinical PRP/PRF protocol rather than the device itself.

Onset

Immediate in operational terms \u2013 the device reaches the set speed within the programmed acceleration profile. Clinical onset of PRP/PRF treatment effects depends on the underlying medical or aesthetic procedure, not on the centrifuge.
