Safety hypodermic needles

Description

Hypodermic Sol-Care Safety Needle 22G x 50mm (2\) is a sterile, single-use hypodermic safety needle with an integrated pivoting safety shield, designed for use with standard Luer Lock and Luer Slip syringes for aspiration and administration of medication. The 22-gauge, 50 mm bevel-up needle and colour-coded black hub allow easy gauge identification and low-angle injections. Supplied as a box of 100 individually wrapped needles.

Indications

Use in conjunction with a standard syringe for aspiration and administration of medications.

Packaging

Box of 100 Sol-Care Safety Needles (SN2205 variant).
Each needle supplied individually wrapped in sterile packaging.

Usage

Verify that the packaging is intact and the product is within its expiry date before use; do not use if the package is damaged or previously opened.
Attach the Sol-Care Safety Needle firmly to a compatible Luer Lock or Luer Slip syringe following aseptic technique.
Prepare the medication and the injection site in accordance with local clinical protocols.
Perform aspiration and/or administration of the medication using appropriate injection technique (e.g. subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular, intravenous) as clinically indicated.
After completing the injection, activate the safety shield by pushing the protective arm forward with the thumb or against a hard, flat surface until an audible click confirms the shield is locked over the needle.
Visually confirm that the needle tip is fully covered and the shield is locked in place.
Immediately dispose of the used, shielded needle and syringe as a single unit in an approved sharps container; do not attempt to recap, bend or manually remove the needle.
Device is intended for single use only; do not reuse, re-sterilise or share between patients.

Contraindications

Do not use if the sterile packaging is damaged, opened or compromised, as this may lead to infection or other injury.
Single-use device: do not reuse or re-sterilise; reuse may increase risk of infection, needlestick injury or device malfunction.
Use only by trained, licensed healthcare professionals familiar with injection techniques and sharps safety procedures.
Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the device if such sensitivity is suspected.
Do not intentionally bypass or disable the safety mechanism.

Adverse Effects

Local injection-site reactions such as pain, tenderness, redness, bruising or minor bleeding.
Risk of infection at the injection site if aseptic technique is not followed.
Potential tissue trauma, nerve injury or vascular injury if injection technique or site selection is inappropriate.
Risk of accidental needlestick injury if the safety mechanism is not correctly activated or sharps-handling protocols are not followed.
Rare risk of hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to device materials in susceptible individuals.

Storage Conditions

Store in a clean, dry environment at room temperature, within the temperature range specified on the product packaging.
Keep away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture and corrosive environments.
Store in original packaging until immediately prior to use to maintain sterility.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
Protect from mechanical damage during storage and transport.
