Rescue and technical operations permanent marker

Description

The MARKER PEN YELLOW (Art.-No. 9860-2501) is a robust labelling pen developed for firefighting, search & rescue and technical assistance operations. It writes clearly and permanently on almost any surface, including metal, wood, plastic, concrete, rubber, glass and paper, even when surfaces are wet, oily, rusty or rough. With an operational temperature range from -45 °C to +65 °C, the pen is suitable for harsh environments and is widely used to mark already searched rooms in hazardous atmospheres or to label cutting points and prohibited areas (e.g. around airbag systems) during technical rescue. The yellow colour allows clear visibility and, when combined with the red version, helps distinguish markings from different teams or for different purposes. The pen is supplied as a single, ready-to-use marker without additional accessories.

Bnefits

  • Writes on almost any surface, including metal, wood, plastic, concrete, rubber, glass and paper.
  • Performs reliably on wet, oily, rusty, smooth or rough surfaces, ensuring legible markings in adverse conditions.
  • Wide operational temperature range from -45 °C to +65 °C, suitable for extreme environments.
  • Bright yellow colour provides high visibility on many substrates; can be combined with the red version for team or task differentiation.
  • Designed specifically for firefighting, search & rescue and technical assistance, supporting systematic and safe operations.
  • No cap and no sharpening required, making it quick and easy to use with gloves and in time-critical situations.
  • Compact and lightweight (approx. 14 x 2 cm; ~40 g), easily carried in pockets or compatible holsters.

Indications

  • Marking of already searched rooms and areas during firefighting or search & rescue operations, especially in hazardous atmospheres.
  • Labelling of points for application of hydraulic rescue devices (e.g. cutters, spreaders) on vehicles or structures.
  • Marking prohibited or hazardous areas such as airbag zones, no-cut zones and structural weak points.
  • General temporary or semi-permanent marking in technical assistance, industrial, logistics and construction environments.
  • Identification markings on equipment, tools, containers or surfaces where durable and visible marks are required.

Composition

  • Marker pen body made from durable plastic housing.
  • Integrated marking core containing highly pigmented, permanent yellow ink (exact solvent system not publicly specified).
  • Fibre or solid marker tip suitable for marking on rough and smooth surfaces.
  • Internal components engineered to function in temperatures from -45 °C to +65 °C.

Formulation

  • Permanent marking pen with high-visibility yellow ink.
  • Designed for universal use on multiple surface types, including wet, oily, rusty and rough materials.

Usage

  • Remove the pen from its packaging and ensure the tip is intact before first use.
  • Apply the tip directly to the surface to be marked, using steady pressure to create clear, visible lines or symbols.
  • Use on appropriate surfaces such as metal, wood, plastic, concrete, rubber, glass and paper, including when they are wet, oily, rusty or rough.
  • Use to mark searched rooms, access and cutting points, hazardous zones or other operational information as per local rescue/technical procedures.
  • Replace the pen if markings become faint, the tip is damaged or ink flow significantly decreases.
  • Store the pen with other rescue or technical equipment where it is easily accessible during operations.
  • Do not intentionally use on skin or for cosmetic/body marking purposes.

Contraindications

  • Not intended for medical, cosmetic or skin-contact use.
  • Do not use if the casing is cracked or damaged in a way that may cause ink leakage.
  • Do not use on surfaces where permanent marking is prohibited or may compromise safety or regulatory compliance.
  • Avoid use in confined, poorly ventilated spaces without appropriate ventilation or respiratory protection if strong odour or vapour is present.

Adverse Effects

  • Possible temporary skin irritation or staining if ink comes into contact with skin.
  • Eye irritation if ink splashes into the eyes; rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
  • Inhalation of vapours in poorly ventilated areas may cause discomfort such as headache or dizziness in sensitive individuals.
  • Ingestion of ink may cause gastrointestinal discomfort; seek medical advice if swallowed.
