Unisex professional trainer / nursing work shoe

Description

‘Elis’ Nurse Shoes are comfortable, breathable unisex professional trainers from the Safety Jogger Professional range, designed for nurses and other hardworking professionals who are on their feet all day. Based on the Elis O2 occupational sneaker, they combine a modern trainer look with certified workplace protection: an SRC-rated OxyGrip slip-resistant outsole, ESD anti-static protection and heel energy absorption. The shoes are metal-free and feature a water-repellent synthetic leather upper, breathable 3D mesh lining and a removable SJ foam footbed for cushioning and support. EN ISO 20347:2012 O2 ESD SRC certified and CE marked, they provide lightweight, all-day comfort in hospital, clinic, care, beauty and general service environments. Available as lace-up trainers in black or white and in a wide unisex size range.

  • Metal-free construction for increased comfort and suitability in environments where metal-free footwear is preferred
  • Water-repellent synthetic leather upper protects against light splashes while remaining easy to clean
  • Breathable 3D mesh lining improves ventilation and helps keep feet cooler and drier throughout the day

Usage

  • Select the correct size using the manufacturer or retailer size guide; ensure sufficient toe room and a secure but comfortable heel fit.
  • Loosen the laces, place the foot fully into the shoe, then lace up to achieve a snug fit across the instep without causing pressure points.
  • Wear with suitable work socks that manage moisture and reduce friction; avoid socks that are excessively thick or tight.
  • Use as occupational footwear in environments such as hospitals, clinics, care homes, dental practices, beauty salons, spas, catering and other service settings where anti-slip and ESD footwear is beneficial or required.
  • If prescribed or preferred, remove the SJ foam insole and insert custom orthotic insoles, making sure that the heel sits securely and the foot remains stable.
  • Clean the synthetic leather upper regularly using a damp cloth and mild soap if required; do not use aggressive chemicals, bleach or abrasive cleaners which may damage materials.
  • After cleaning, allow the shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature; do not place them near radiators, heaters or other high-heat sources.
  • Remove and air the insole periodically to reduce moisture and odour; replace the insole when it becomes flattened, damaged or unhygienic.
  • Inspect the outsole regularly for wear; replace the shoes once the tread is significantly worn or when slip resistance, cushioning or structural integrity is compromised.
  • Do not modify the shoes (for example by drilling holes, cutting the sole or altering the ESD plug), as this can affect anti-slip, ESD and certification performance.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for environments where EN ISO 20345 safety footwear with protective toecaps or additional protection (e.g. anti-perforation midsoles) is specifically required.
  • May not be appropriate for individuals with severe foot deformities or complex orthopaedic conditions requiring custom prescription footwear, unless assessed and approved by a healthcare professional.
  • Users with known allergies or sensitivities to synthetic leather, rubber, EVA, adhesives or textile linings should verify material compatibility before use.
  • Not recommended for heavy industrial or outdoor construction environments beyond the scope of EN ISO 20347 O2 ESD SRC.
  • Use in contact with aggressive chemicals, oils or solvents beyond the shoe’s tested resistance may degrade materials and is not advised without prior compatibility assessment.

Adverse Effects

  • Possible blisters, hotspots or rubbing during initial wear-in period or if the wrong size or lacing tension is used.
  • Foot, ankle, knee, hip or back discomfort if shoes are significantly worn, lack adequate support for the user’s foot type or are used inappropriately long without rest.
  • Increased perspiration or odour if shoes are worn for extended hours without adequate airing, sock changes or hygiene measures.
  • Rare cases of contact dermatitis or irritation for users sensitive to specific materials in the upper, lining, insole or adhesives.
  • Reduced slip resistance and increased risk of slips and falls if the outsole becomes heavily worn, polished smooth or contaminated with grease and not cleaned regularly.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight when not being worn.
  • Allow shoes to dry completely between uses, especially if they have become damp from cleaning, spills or perspiration.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures (for example, on radiators, in hot vehicles or near heaters) which may deform the outsole or degrade adhesives.
  • Keep away from strong chemicals, oils and solvents that could damage the upper, insole or outsole materials.
  • When not in active use, store shoes in their original box or on a shoe rack to maintain shape and protect them from dust and accidental damage.

Duration

Not applicable as a medical treatment. Under normal occupational use, a pair of Elis Nurse Shoes typically provides many months of service, depending on shift length, walking distance, user weight and floor conditions, with replacement recommended when tread or cushioning is notably worn.

Onset

Immediate upon wearing: cushioning, slip resistance, heel energy absorption and ESD protection are present as soon as the shoes are correctly fitted and used.
