Medical footwear \u2013 unisex theatre nurse clog

Description

The Oxypas Smooth Unisex Theatre Nurse Clog with Anti-static and Anti-slip is a lightweight, washable professional work clog designed primarily for medical staff working in theatres, wards and clinical departments. Made from expanded EVA with a slip-resistant rubber outsole, Smooth combines effective shock absorption, excellent cushioning and a textured footbed to support comfort during long shifts. The closed upper protects the foot from spills and splashes, while the pivoting heel strap can be worn behind the heel or flipped forward for backless wear. An integrated antistatic / ESD system safely dissipates electrostatic charge, making the clog suitable for use around sensitive equipment and in operating theatres. Certified to EN ISO 20347:2012 OB ESD A SRC E and CE-marked, Smooth offers SRC-rated slip resistance (highest level), chemical and UV sterilisation compatibility and machine washability at 30 °C, making it ideal for healthcare, hospitality, catering, cleaning and other standing-intensive occupations.

Bnefits

  • Lightweight EVA-based construction reduces fatigue during long periods of standing and walking.
  • SRC-rated rubber outsole provides the highest level of certified slip resistance on wet and dry surfaces.
  • Exclusive antistatic / ESD system safely dissipates electrostatic charge, suitable for operating theatres and equipment-heavy environments.
  • Closed upper offers maximum protection against liquids, secretions and spills.
  • Textured footbed stimulates circulation and improves grip underfoot for added stability.
  • Shock absorption in the heel and cushioning across the sole enhance comfort throughout long shifts.
  • Pivoting strap allows the clog to be worn with the strap behind the heel for secure fit or forward for an easy backless option.
  • Chemically and UV sterilizable and machine washable up to 30 °C for easy decontamination and hygiene.
  • Unisex design with extensive size and colour range, ideal for uniform use across teams and departments.
  • Metal-free, antistatic and EN ISO 20347 occupational-footwear compliant, making it suitable for a wide range of professional environments.

Indications

  • Professional footwear for doctors, nurses, theatre staff and other hospital personnel.
  • Use in operating theatres, recovery rooms, wards and outpatient areas where closed, washable, non-slip and antistatic footwear is required.
  • Footwear for other healthcare settings such as clinics, dental practices, laboratories and sterile services.
  • Suitable for hospitality, catering, cleaning, beauty, spa and wellness professionals who need lightweight, slip-resistant clogs.
  • Recommended for any working environment where staff spend long hours on their feet and require shock-absorbing, washable footwear with ESD properties.

  • Lining: Typically none or EVA-based, with breathable, high-quality lining characteristics according to EN ISO 20347.
  • Footbed: Textured EVA footbed integrated into the clog body to aid grip and circulation.
  • Outsole: Non-slip rubber outsole (EVA/rubber combination in some technical sheets) providing SRC-rated slip resistance.
  • Antistatic / ESD plug integrated into sole for controlled electrostatic discharge.
  • Pivoting heel strap made from matching EVA/synthetic material with plastic hinge/connection.

Packaging

  • Supplied as a pair of clogs (left and right) per retail box.
  • Packaged in branded Oxypas / Safety Jogger Professional cardboard shoe box indicating model (Smooth), size, colour and standards.
  • Outer cartons used for institutional deliveries may contain multiple pairs sorted by size and colour.
  • Labelling on packaging includes CE mark, EN ISO 20347 classification, ESD symbols, size, colour and basic care icons.

Usage

  • Select the correct size using the manufacturer’s size guide; Smooth is a unisex model typically available in EU sizes 35–47.
  • If possible, try the clogs indoors first to confirm fit, ensuring sufficient toe room and secure contact across the instep.
  • Wear with socks to optimise comfort, manage perspiration and reduce friction.
  • For a more secure fit, position the strap behind the heel; for a backless, easy-on clog, pivot the strap forward over the instep.
  • Use the clogs in appropriate work environments where EN ISO 20347 OB SRC ESD footwear is acceptable; they are not fitted with safety toe caps and should not replace safety boots where impact protection is mandatory.
  • For daily cleaning, wipe the clogs with a damp cloth and mild detergent or wash in a household washing machine at up to 30 °C.
  • For higher-level decontamination, follow local protocols for chemical or UV sterilisation; the EVA/rubber materials are compatible with such processes within manufacturer guidelines.
  • Allow clogs to air dry thoroughly at room temperature after washing or sterilisation; do not expose them to direct intense heat sources (radiators, open flames, hot air blowers).
  • Inspect the outsole regularly and replace the clogs if the tread is significantly worn or if slip-resistance seems reduced.
  • Replace the clogs if there are visible cracks, deformation, loss of cushioning, or if ESD performance is suspected to be compromised.
  • Follow any additional care and usage instructions printed on the product label or packaging.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for environments where safety toe protection or puncture-resistant midsoles are required by risk assessment (e.g. EN ISO 20345 safety footwear).
  • Not appropriate for users with known hypersensitivity or allergy to EVA, rubber or other synthetic components of the clog.
  • Should not be used in areas requiring electrically insulating (non-conductive) footwear, as the clogs are antistatic / ESD and designed to dissipate static electricity.
  • Do not use if the clogs are visibly damaged, cracked, deformed, or if the outsole has excessively worn tread, as safety and slip-resistance may be compromised.
  • Users with significant foot deformities or specific orthopaedic conditions should seek professional advice before relying solely on standard occupational clogs.

Adverse Effects

  • Potential for rubbing, pressure points or blisters if size is incorrect or clogs are worn without appropriate socks.
  • Foot perspiration or odour may occur if clogs are worn for long periods without adequate drying or hygiene between uses.
  • Rarely, contact dermatitis or irritation in individuals sensitive to EVA, rubber or additives in the materials.
  • Worn or damaged clogs may increase the risk of slips, trips or falls if tread and support are compromised.
  • Wearing clogs while still damp after washing may cause temporary discomfort and, over prolonged periods, contribute to skin maceration.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
  • Allow clogs to dry completely after washing or sterilisation before storage.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to oils, solvents or harsh chemicals that may degrade EVA or rubber components.
  • Do not store under heavy loads or in tightly compressed conditions to prevent deformation.
  • For longer-term storage, keep in the original shoe box or a breathable container to protect from dust and accidental damage.

Duration

Oxypas Smooth clogs are intended as reusable occupational footwear for daily use over an extended period. Their service life depends on frequency of use, number of washing/sterilisation cycles, body weight and working conditions. They should be replaced when outsole tread or cushioning is significantly worn, visible damage is present, or institutional footwear replacement policies require it.

Onset

Comfort, slip resistance and antistatic performance are provided immediately upon wearing the clogs in appropriate conditions and with correct sizing.
