Sterile accelerator-free nitrile examination gloves (large)

Description

Premier Prestige Sterile Nitrile Powder Free Gloves - Large are sterile, powder-free, accelerator-free nitrile examination gloves that provide a safe alternative to latex and high resistance to many chemical products. Made from synthetic nitrile rubber (butadiene and acrylonitrile), these blue, fully textured gloves offer excellent touch sensitivity and grip, with strong resistance to oils, greases, chemicals and solvents such as petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin and xylene. They contain no natural rubber latex, proteins or powder, and are manufactured without chemical accelerators to minimise the risk of both Type I (latex) and Type IV (chemical) allergies. The gloves are ambidextrous, double chlorinated, standard cuff length, sterile, and supplied in a box of 50 large-size gloves (individually paired in sterile pouches).

Bnefits

  • Safe alternative to latex gloves, suitable for users and patients with latex allergy (Type I hypersensitivity).
  • Accelerator-free nitrile formulation reduces the risk of Type IV chemical allergies and skin reactions.
  • Powder-free and protein-free, eliminating the risk of powder-induced contamination and reducing the likelihood of powder-related skin irritation.
  • High resistance to a wide range of oils, greases, chemicals and solvents including petroleum jelly, liquid paraffin and xylene.
  • Fully textured external surface and light textured finish provide excellent grip and touch sensitivity, even when handling instruments or working in wet conditions.
  • Sterile, individually paired gloves suitable for aseptic and invasive procedures requiring a sterile barrier.
  • Standard cuff length and ambidextrous design for ease of donning and use on either hand.
  • Double chlorinated surface improves comfort and donning, reducing surface tackiness compared with non-chlorinated gloves.
  • Conforms to EN455 Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 with AQL 1.5, supporting medical-grade performance and quality.

Indications

  • Use as a sterile barrier glove for medical and dental examinations and procedures where sterility is required.
  • Aseptic techniques and minor surgical or invasive procedures requiring sterile, single-use examination gloves.
  • Situations where patients or healthcare workers are sensitised to natural rubber latex or glove accelerators, and latex-free, accelerator-free gloves are indicated.
  • Handling of body fluids, contaminated materials and certain chemicals in clinical environments where nitrile’s chemical resistance is beneficial.
  • Use across hospital wards, outpatient clinics, GP practices, theatres (for appropriate procedures), dental surgeries and other healthcare settings requiring sterile nitrile examination gloves.

Composition

  • Material: Nitrile (synthetic rubber composed of butadiene and acrylonitrile).
  • No natural rubber latex and no latex proteins.
  • Powder-free (no donning powder present).
  • Accelerator-free formulation (manufactured without standard chemical accelerators to reduce Type IV allergy risk).
  • Colour: Blue pigment in nitrile compound (exact pigment composition not specified).

Formulation

  • Sterile, single-use, powder-free nitrile examination gloves.
  • Large size; blue colour.
  • Shape: Ambidextrous gloves, suitable for either hand.
  • External surface: Fully textured for improved grip.
  • Chlorination: Double chlorinated for reduced tackiness and easier donning.
  • Standard cuff length with beaded cuff.
  • AQL 1.5; conforms to EN455 Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 for medical gloves.

Packaging

  • Box containing 50 large-size Premier Prestige sterile nitrile powder-free gloves (packed as sterile pairs in individual peel packs).
  • Outer dispensing carton printed with product name, brand, size (Large), colour (Blue), quantity, batch/lot number, expiry date and regulatory/standard markings.
  • Each sterile pair is individually packaged to maintain sterility until point of use.

Usage

  • Check the box label to confirm the correct size (Large) and integrity of the packaging before use; do not use if sterile packs are damaged or opened.
  • Perform hand hygiene according to local protocol before donning gloves.
  • Open the sterile peel pack using aseptic technique and remove the gloves without touching non-sterile surfaces.
  • Don gloves carefully, avoiding tearing or puncturing with fingernails or sharp objects; ensure the cuff is pulled over the wrist for full coverage.
  • Use for a single patient/procedure only; do not reuse or attempt to re-sterilise these gloves.
  • If a glove becomes torn, punctured or heavily contaminated during a procedure, remove and replace with a new sterile pair as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • After use, remove gloves using an appropriate technique to avoid skin contamination, then dispose of them as clinical/infectious waste according to local policy.
  • Perform hand hygiene immediately after glove removal.
  • Store remaining gloves in their original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight until the expiry date.

Contraindications

  • Known or suspected allergy or hypersensitivity to nitrile or any component of the glove formulation.
  • Not suitable where a different glove material is specifically required (e.g. for certain aggressive chemical exposures beyond the glove’s certified resistance; consult chemical resistance data if necessary).
  • Do not use if packaging or sterile peel packs are damaged, opened or visibly compromised, as sterility may be lost.
  • Not intended for reuse; reusing single-use sterile gloves increases the risk of glove failure, contamination and infection.

Adverse Effects

  • Potential for local skin irritation, dryness or contact dermatitis in some users with sensitive skin, particularly with prolonged or repeated use.
  • Rare allergic reactions to nitrile or other glove components, despite the gloves being latex-free and accelerator-free.
  • Excessive sweating or discomfort during long wear, which is common to occlusive protective gloves.
  • Risk of contamination or infection if gloves tear unnoticed or if sterile technique is not maintained during donning and use.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
  • Avoid excessive heat, humidity or exposure to ozone or strong UV light, which may degrade the nitrile material.
  • Keep in original carton and sterile inner packaging until use to protect sterility and cleanliness.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging; rotate stock using first-expiry, first-out principles.

Duration

Not applicable; gloves provide barrier protection only while worn and are intended for single-use episodes during individual sterile procedures.

Onset

Immediate barrier protection is provided once intact gloves are correctly donned.
