Disposable FFP3 NR D particulate respirator face mask
Description
3M™ Aura™ 9330+ is an unvalved, disposable FFP3 NR D particulate respirator in a flat-fold, three-panel design. It provides high-efficiency filtration using 3M Advanced Electret filter material for protection against fine dusts, mists and metal fumes. The sculpted, low-profile nose panel and embossed top panel help improve the seal and reduce eyewear fogging, while an innovative chin tab aids ease of fitting and adjustment. This listing is for a bulk case of 440 individually wrapped masks, recommended as medical PPE for primary, outpatient, community and social care settings as well as a wide range of industrial applications.
Bnefits
- FFP3 NR D level particulate protection against fine dusts, mists and metal fumes.
- 3-panel Aura flat-fold design allows greater facial movement and improves comfort during speech.
- 3M Advanced Electret high-performance filter material provides effective filtration with low breathing resistance.
- Embossed upper panel and sculpted nose panel help reduce eyewear fogging and improve compatibility with eyewear.
- Innovative chin tab for easier positioning, fitting and adjustment on the face.
- Individually hygienically wrapped respirators to help protect from contamination before use and aid workplace dispensing.
- Colour-coded red headbands for quick visual identification of FFP3 protection level.
Indications
- Respiratory protection for healthcare staff in primary, outpatient, community and social care settings where FFP3 PPE is indicated.
- Protection against hazardous fine dusts, non-volatile liquid particles and metal fumes up to 50 x TLV / NPF 50, subject to local regulations.
- Use in industrial environments such as construction, metalworking, agriculture and other workplaces requiring FFP3 particle protection.
- Use alongside other infection prevention and control measures where high-level respiratory protection is needed.
Composition
- Filter: Polypropylene non-woven filtering media (Advanced Electret filter material).
- Straps: Polyisoprene headbands (latex-free).
- Staples: Steel.
- Nose foam: Polyurethane.
- Nose clip: Aluminium.
- Mask body: Polypropylene outer and inner cover web.
- Valve components: Not applicable (unvalved model).
Formulation
- Single-use (NR), non-sterile filtering half mask.
- FFP3 NR D classification to EN 149:2001+A1:2009.
- Unvalved, flat-fold three-panel respirator.
Packaging
- Bulk case containing 440 individually wrapped 3M Aura 9330+ FFP3 unvalved respirators.
- Outer cardboard shipper carton (approximate carton weight 5.48 kg) with dimensions around 606 x 416 x 432 mm.
- Each respirator supplied in hygienic individual packaging to help protect from contamination and aid storage and dispensing.
Usage
- Check the packaging is intact and within the manufacturer’s stated shelf life before use.
- With clean hands, unfold the top and bottom panels to form a cup shape and gently bend the nose clip.
- Hold the respirator in one hand with the open side towards the face and the nosepiece upwards; use the other hand to pull both straps over the head.
- Position the upper strap on the crown of the head and the lower strap below the ears, ensuring the straps are not twisted.
- Adjust the top and bottom panels for a comfortable fit, ensuring they are fully unfolded and not folded inwards.
- Using both hands, mould the nose clip to the shape of the nose and cheeks to obtain a close fit and effective seal.
- Perform a fit check before entering the hazardous area: for an unvalved respirator, cover the mask with both hands and exhale sharply; if air leaks around the edges or nose, readjust and repeat.
- Do not use the respirator in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen, or for protection against gases and vapours.
- Do not use with facial hair or conditions that prevent a good seal between the respirator and the face.
- Discard and replace the respirator if it becomes damaged, difficult to breathe through, visibly contaminated (e.g. with blood or body fluids) or after a single work shift.
Contraindications
- Do not use in atmospheres with less than 19.5% oxygen or in oxygen-deficient or immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) environments.
- Not suitable for protection against gases, vapours or substances such as glutaraldehyde that require additional gas/vapour filtration.
- Do not use when facial hair, jewellery or facial abnormalities prevent a proper seal between the face and the respirator.
- Users with underlying respiratory or cardiovascular conditions should seek advice from an occupational health or medical professional before use.
- Do not use if the respirator is damaged, soiled, deformed or past its expiry date.
Adverse Effects
- Possible discomfort or pressure on the nose, face or head, especially with prolonged wear.
- Potential for skin irritation, redness or contact dermatitis at points of contact in sensitive individuals.
- Breathing resistance may feel increased compared with no respirator, which can lead to fatigue or headache in some users.
- Fogging of eyewear may occur if the respirator is not fitted correctly or if the seal is compromised.
- If incorrectly selected or fitted, inadequate protection from airborne contaminants may occur, potentially leading to respiratory illness.
Storage Conditions
- Store in clean, dry conditions in the original packaging.
- Recommended storage temperature between -20°C and +25°C with maximum relative humidity < 80%.
- Avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures and exposure to solvents, oils or other contaminants.
- Observe the manufacturer’s indicated shelf life (typically 5 years from date of manufacture) and do not use beyond the expiry date.
Duration
Single-use, non-reusable (NR); each mask is intended for one work shift only, or less if it becomes damaged or contaminated.
Onset
Immediate respiratory protection once the respirator is correctly fitted, sealed and used in an appropriate environment.
