Medisanitize 70% Alcohol IPA Antibacterial Spray for Surfaces is a UK-manufactured, hard-surface disinfectant formulated with 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to provide rapid and effective antimicrobial action. Supplied in a 500 ml trigger spray bottle, it is ideal for disinfecting a wide range of non-porous surfaces in healthcare, industrial, workplace and domestic environments. The product helps to prevent the spread of germs in any workplace or home and has been tested to EN1276, EN14476 and EN13727, demonstrating broad-spectrum efficacy against bacteria and enveloped viruses when used as directed.

Composition

Usage
- Ensure the area is well ventilated and keep away from sources of ignition (no smoking, open flames or hot surfaces).
- Spray directly onto the hard, non-porous surface to be disinfected, ensuring complete coverage.
- Allow the product to remain on the surface for the contact time specified on the product label to achieve the claimed EN1276/EN14476/EN13727 efficacy (follow on-pack directions).
- Allow to air dry or, where local protocol specifies, wipe with a clean disposable cloth after the appropriate contact time.
- Use only on compatible, alcohol-resistant surfaces; test on an inconspicuous area if unsure.
- Do not use on or near electrical equipment when energised; always follow local safety guidance.
- For external use on surfaces only; not for application to skin or ingestion.
- Wash hands after use or wear appropriate gloves according to risk assessment in professional settings.
Contraindications
- Do not use on skin, mucous membranes or broken tissue (product is intended for hard surfaces only).
- Do not use on surfaces that are incompatible with alcohol (e.g. some plastics, painted or varnished finishes, acrylics, certain LCD/optical surfaces) without prior compatibility testing.
- Do not use near open flames, hot surfaces or ignition sources due to high flammability.
- Not to be used in confined, poorly ventilated spaces without appropriate ventilation or controls.
- Contraindicated in users with known hypersensitivity or allergy to isopropyl alcohol, glycerol or any component of the formulation if there is potential for significant skin or inhalation exposure.
Adverse Effects
- Inhalation of high vapour concentrations may cause drowsiness, dizziness or respiratory irritation, as indicated in the Medisanitize IPA Safety Data Sheet.
- Direct eye contact may cause serious eye irritation, redness and discomfort.
- Prolonged or repeated skin contact (e.g. if handled without gloves) may cause dryness, irritation or dermatitis in susceptible individuals.
- Ingestion may cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract and symptoms of alcohol intoxication; medical attention is required.
- In the event of significant exposure, follow first-aid advice from the Safety Data Sheet and seek medical attention where appropriate.
Storage Conditions
- Store in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other sources of ignition; no smoking.
- Store in a fire-resistant area and use explosion-proof electrical/ventilation/lighting equipment where relevant, as per Safety Data Sheet guidance.
- Protect from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not store near strong acids, strong bases or oxidising agents.
- Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional and national regulations for hazardous or flammable waste.
Duration
Provides a one-off disinfection effect on treated surfaces at the time of application; no persistent long-term residual activity is claimed beyond the initial disinfection achieved during the labelled contact time. Surfaces should be re-treated according to local infection-control protocols and frequency of contamination.
Onset
Rapid antimicrobial action consistent with 70% isopropyl alcohol; bacterial and viral reduction is achieved within the validated contact times associated with EN1276, EN14476 and EN13727 testing when the product is used as directed.
