Lightly powdered clear vinyl examination gloves
Description
Aurelia Delight Clear PD Powdered Vinyl Gloves are economical, lightly powdered clear vinyl examination gloves made from very soft, thin vinyl to provide good tactile sensitivity and comfort in a wide range of applications. These non-sterile, ambidextrous gloves feature a smooth finish, beaded cuff and straight fingers, and are manufactured from 100% latex-free vinyl for users who require an alternative to natural rubber latex. The Light Powder (PD) helps with perspiration absorption and easier donning, making them suitable for general medical, care, hygiene and food-handling tasks. This listing refers to the Medium size, typically supplied in boxes of 100 gloves.
Bnefits
- Soft, thin vinyl formulation offers good tactile sensitivity and comfort for general examination and hygiene procedures.
- Lightly powdered interior assists with perspiration absorption and makes donning and removal easier, especially during extended wear.
- Smooth finish provides comfortable handling and adequate grip for routine tasks.
- 100% latex-free vinyl construction suitable for users with latex allergy or sensitivity.
- Glueless and free from thiurams, reducing risk of certain contact allergens.
- Beaded cuff enhances tearing resistance at the cuff and makes donning easier.
- Straight-finger, ambidextrous design fits either hand, simplifying inventory and dispensing.
- Food-contact approved, making the gloves suitable for food preparation and catering environments as well as healthcare and hygiene.
Indications
- General medical, dental and care-home examinations where non-sterile, single-use disposable gloves are appropriate.
- Infection control and hygiene procedures in clinical, community care and social care settings.
- Cleaning, housekeeping and janitorial tasks that require a light barrier to protect against non-hazardous fluids and contamination.
- Food preparation, serving and catering where food-contact-approved disposable gloves are required.
- Beauty, spa and salon treatments where a clear, economical, latex-free glove is preferred.
- Situations where latex-free gloves are required due to latex allergy or sensitisation among staff or clients.
Composition
- Material: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) vinyl, clear.
- Powder: Lightly powdered interior (typically USP grade corn starch) to aid donning and perspiration absorption.
- Thickness (single wall, minimum): approximately 0.05 mm at palm and fingers; 0.04 mm at cuff, depending on size.
- Weight: Approximately 4.5 g ± 0.2 g per glove (reference size).
- Cuff: Beaded cuff to improve strength and aid donning.
- Texture: Smooth finish (non-textured).
- Latex content: 100% latex free; not made with natural rubber latex.
- Chemical accelerators: Contains certain accelerators which may cause allergic reactions, as stated in the Declaration of Conformity.
Formulation
- Non-sterile, single-use disposable vinyl examination glove.
- Clear colour for unobtrusive appearance and easy visibility of contamination.
- Lightly powdered (PD) interior for easier donning and perspiration absorption.
- Smooth surface, straight fingers.
- Ambidextrous design suitable for either hand.
- Beaded cuff to reduce tearing and facilitate donning.
- Available in sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large; this SKU corresponds to Medium.
Packaging
- Inner box containing 100 clear, lightly powdered vinyl examination gloves (by count).
- 10 boxes per outer case (total 1,000 gloves per case), as stated on the product sheet (10 x 100).
- Dispenser box with perforated opening to allow easy single-glove withdrawal.
- Packaging printed with product name, size (Medium), lot number, expiry date, regulatory symbols and usage information.
- Outer shipping carton labelled with product description, size range, quantity, barcodes and manufacturer details for logistics and storage.
Usage
- Inspect the box and inner packaging before use; do not use if packaging is damaged or if the product is beyond its expiry date.
- Ensure hands are clean and dry before donning; remove sharp jewellery or trim nails to reduce the risk of tearing the glove.
- Select the correct size (Medium) to ensure a comfortable, non-restrictive fit and maintain dexterity.
- With the cuff facing towards you, insert fingers and thumb into the glove and gently pull the beaded cuff over the wrist, allowing the glove to conform to the hand.
- Repeat the process for the other hand using aseptic technique where required in clinical practice.
- During use, avoid contact with chemicals or substances for which vinyl gloves are not recommended; consult local COSHH and compatibility data where necessary.
- Change gloves between patients, between dirty and clean tasks on the same patient, and immediately if the glove becomes torn, punctured or heavily contaminated.
- To remove, grasp the outside of the glove near the wrist and peel it off inside out, holding it in the gloved hand; slide an ungloved finger under the cuff of the remaining glove and peel it off over the first glove, avoiding contact with the outer contaminated surface.
- Dispose of used gloves safely in accordance with local infection control, clinical waste or general waste policies; do not attempt to wash or reuse disposable vinyl gloves.
- After glove removal, clean or sanitise hands according to hand-hygiene protocols.
Contraindications
- Known or suspected hypersensitivity or allergy to vinyl (PVC), glove powder, or any chemical accelerators used in the glove formulation.
- Use in place of sterile surgical gloves in procedures where sterility is required; these gloves are non-sterile.
- Use for protection against strong chemicals, solvents or cytotoxic agents that are incompatible with standard vinyl gloves or beyond their tested performance.
- Use in high-risk clinical settings where a higher-performance material (such as nitrile) is recommended by local infection-prevention policies.
- Do not use if gloves are brittle, discoloured, torn, punctured or show other signs of deterioration, or if packaging integrity is compromised.
Adverse Effects
- Possible skin irritation, dryness or contact dermatitis, particularly in individuals sensitive to vinyl, powder or residual processing chemicals.
- Potential for allergic reactions in users sensitive to chemical accelerators present in the glove formulation.
- Increased sweating and skin maceration if gloves are worn continuously for long periods without breaks.
- Reduced tactile sensitivity and dexterity compared to thinner nitrile or latex gloves, particularly for very fine work.
- Risk of barrier failure and exposure to contaminants if gloves are reused, worn for too long, or used with incompatible chemicals or sharp instruments.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong artificial light sources.
- Recommended storage temperature generally between 5°C and 25°C; avoid extreme heat, cold or high humidity.
- Keep away from ozone-generating equipment and chemicals, oils or solvents that may degrade PVC/vinyl.
- Store in the original packaging until use to protect from dust, moisture and contamination.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging; rotate stock so older boxes are used first (first-in, first-out).
Duration
Single-use disposable gloves intended for one procedure or task only; they must be changed between patients and between separate tasks, or sooner if damaged or visibly soiled.
Onset
Immediate barrier protection is provided as soon as the glove is correctly donned and intact.
