Alcohol surface disinfectant spray

Description

Azo™ Spray 70% IPA 500ml is a professional hard surface disinfectant spray containing 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in deionised water. It is designed for rapid disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces and non-invasive medical equipment in clinical, dental, laboratory and aesthetic environments. The quick-drying, no-residue formulation kills 99.9999% of pathogens, with fast bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and yeasticidal activity validated to EN 13727 and related standards. The handy 500 ml trigger spray bottle allows targeted, convenient application and helps reduce cross-contamination as part of routine infection control.

Bnefits

  • Contains 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol for rapid and effective hard-surface disinfection.
  • Kills 99.9999% of pathogens with fast contact times (typically from 15 seconds, under 1 minute for many bacteria).
  • Broad-spectrum efficacy – bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and yeasticidal when used as directed and validated to EN 13727 and other relevant standards.
  • Quick-drying, low-residue formulation that leaves no smearing or streaking on hard surfaces.
  • Preservative-free solution (no additional biocidal preservatives) to minimise residues and streaks.
  • Supplied in a convenient 500 ml trigger spray bottle for easy use on all hard surfaces and equipment.
  • BPR compliant and manufactured in the UK to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Designed for professional use in healthcare, dental, laboratory, aesthetics and other high-risk environments.

Indications

  • Rapid disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces in clinical, dental, aesthetic, laboratory and general healthcare environments.
  • Surface decontamination of non-invasive medical devices and equipment (where compatible with alcohol and in line with manufacturer guidance).
  • Disinfection of worktops, trolleys, couches, treatment chairs, door handles and other frequently touched surfaces.
  • Use as part of routine infection prevention and control procedures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination after cleaning.

Composition

  • Isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) 70% v/v (biocidal active ingredient)
  • Deionised water (0.2 micron filtered) approximately 30% v/v
  • No added preservatives, detergents, dyes or fragrances in the spray solution
  • Delivered via a 500 ml trigger spray bottle

Formulation

  • Ready-to-use liquid surface disinfectant.
  • 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol in 0.2 micron deionised water.
  • Fast-drying, low-residue, non-smearing formulation.
  • Intended for use on hard, non-porous surfaces and compatible non-invasive medical devices.
  • Preservative-free and colourless solution.

Packaging

  • 500 ml HDPE or similar plastic bottle with trigger spray head.
  • Outer label detailing product name, active ingredient, usage instructions, safety and hazard information, batch number and expiry date.
  • Supplied individually or in outer cases (e.g. 12 x 500 ml) for professional users.

Usage

  • Ensure gross contamination and visible soiling are removed first using a suitable detergent or cleaning product if required.
  • Hold the trigger spray bottle upright and spray directly onto the hard, non-porous surface from a suitable distance to ensure full coverage.
  • Ensure the surface is visibly wet and allow the disinfectant to remain in contact for the required contact time (typically at least 15–60 seconds, following local protocols and manufacturer guidance).
  • Allow the surface to air dry; do not wipe dry immediately, to ensure adequate contact time for disinfection.
  • For equipment where pooling liquid is undesirable, spray onto a disposable cloth and then wipe the surface, ensuring sufficient wetting and contact time.
  • Do not use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Avoid spraying near ignition sources, open flames or hot surfaces due to flammability.
  • Dispose of any used cloths in accordance with local clinical or domestic waste procedures.

Contraindications

  • Not for use on skin, open wounds or mucous membranes.
  • Do not use on invasive medical devices or where the device manufacturer advises against alcohol-based products.
  • Avoid use on alcohol-sensitive materials (e.g. some plastics, rubber, painted or varnished surfaces) unless compatibility has been confirmed by testing on a small inconspicuous area.
  • Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to isopropyl alcohol or similar solvents.
  • Do not use near naked flames, hot surfaces, sparks or other sources of ignition due to high flammability.

Adverse Effects

  • Prolonged or repeated skin contact (e.g. from handling wet surfaces) may cause dryness, irritation or dermatitis.
  • Inhalation of vapour in poorly ventilated areas may cause transient headache, dizziness or respiratory irritation.
  • Eye contact may cause irritation, redness and watering; immediate rinsing with plenty of water is required.
  • If signs of allergic reaction or significant respiratory or skin irritation occur, discontinue exposure and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Keep container tightly closed when not in use to minimise evaporation of alcohol.
  • Keep away from sources of ignition, open flames, hot surfaces and sparks – 70% IPA is highly flammable.
  • Do not expose to high temperatures or freeze.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Dispose of empty containers in accordance with local regulations for flammable or chemical waste.

Duration

Used intermittently as required for rapid surface disinfection; each application provides fast antimicrobial activity over the specified contact time and should be repeated according to local cleaning and infection control schedules.

Onset

Rapid \u2013 antimicrobial action begins on contact, with effective kill of many key micro-organisms typically achieved within 15\u201360 seconds of adequate surface wetting and contact.
