Door marking ribbon for searched rooms and corridors
Description
CHECKER STRAP (5 pcs.) is a set of high-visibility marking ribbons from TEE-UU designed to identify rooms and corridors that have already been searched, typically during fire, rescue or emergency operations. Each 30 cm long strap can be quickly attached to almost any type of door knob or handle using an integrated cord stopper, without the need to tie knots, and remains securely in place even under positive pressure ventilation. The 12 mm wide, signal-yellow ribbon with an 8 mm traversing reflective stripe is clearly visible, including in smoky or low-visibility conditions, and can also be located by touch at zero vision. Supplied as a pack of five straps with cord stoppers, without additional accessories.

- Cord stopper allows secure fastening to almost any door knob or handle without knotting.
- Provides 100% secure hold even under positive pressure ventilation conditions.
- High-visibility signal-yellow ribbon with reflective stripe is clearly visible in smoke-filled or low-light environments.

- Dimensions per strap: approximately 30 cm length x 1.2 cm width (12 mm).
- Colour: signal yellow with silver reflective stripe (approx. 8 mm wide, running along the ribbon).

- Designed for manual attachment to door handles via cord loop and stopper.

Usage
- Use to mark rooms or corridors that have already been searched during operations.
- Loop the strap around the door knob or handle of the room or corridor to be marked.
- Pull the cord through and secure using the cord stopper (toggle) to fasten the ribbon firmly without tying knots.
- Ensure the signal-yellow ribbon and reflective stripe are clearly visible from the outside of the room or corridor.
- After operations, remove the straps, inspect for damage and store for future use (e.g. in a CHECKER POUCH or similar holder).
- Follow local operational procedures and training guidelines for consistent marking conventions.
Contraindications
- Not intended for use as personal protective equipment (PPE) or fall protection.
- Do not rely on the strap alone where regulatory-compliant safety signage or barriers are required.
- Avoid use if the strap or cord stopper is damaged, heavily worn or unable to hold securely under tension.
- Do not use in situations where objects protruding from doors may pose entanglement risks, unless operational risk assessment deems it safe.
Adverse Effects
- Potential minor snagging/entanglement hazard if placed inappropriately on doors or in narrow passages.
- If not securely fastened, strap may become detached and present a trip or slip hazard.
- Incorrect or inconsistent use may lead to confusion about which rooms or corridors have been searched; clear protocols and training are essential.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to minimise material degradation.
- Keep straps clean and free from oils, chemicals and sharp objects that may damage the fibres.
- Ideally store organised in a compatible holder such as the TEE-UU CHECKER POUCH for rapid deployment.
- Inspect regularly for wear, fraying or damage and replace as necessary.
- Keep out of reach of small children when not in use.
Duration
Not applicable; used as an operational marking tool during the duration of emergency or training activities and reusable as long as the straps remain in good condition.
Onset
Immediate; once attached, the strap provides instant visual and tactile indication that a room or corridor has been checked.
