Used cold, it acts as a relieving compress to help reduce swelling and bruising after minor injuries such as sprains, strains and knocks. Used warm, it helps to soothe and comfort aches, pains and muscle stiffness. The reusable gel pack is intended for general first aid and sports injury use and is a non-sterile, external-use product commonly supplied into healthcare, workplace and sports environments.

Usage

  • For cold use: place the pack in a refrigerator or freezer until adequately chilled; do not allow it to freeze rock solid if the manufacturer advises against it.
  • Before applying to the skin, if necessary wrap the pack in a thin cloth or towel to avoid direct prolonged contact with very cold surfaces.
  • Apply the cold pack to the affected area for up to 15–20 minutes at a time or as directed by a healthcare professional, allowing the skin to return to normal temperature between applications.
  • For warm use: follow the heating instructions on the product label; typically, place the pack flat in a microwave and heat in short intervals, checking the temperature regularly.
  • After heating, carefully remove the pack, check the temperature with your hand and, if required, wrap in a thin cloth or towel before applying to the skin to avoid burns.
  • Apply the warm pack to the affected area for short periods (for example 15–20 minutes), checking the skin regularly and discontinuing use if discomfort occurs.
  • Do not puncture or open the pack; if the outer pouch is damaged or leaking, discontinue use and dispose of the product according to local waste guidance.
  • Always supervise use in children, older adults or individuals with reduced sensation or circulation.

Contraindications

Adverse Effects
