Wall-mounted glove, mask, overshoe and apron dispenser

Description

The DANICENTRE Standard Glove & Apron Dispenser is a wall-mounted utility cabinet from Daniels Healthcare designed for organised storage and dispensing of disposable PPE such as gloves, overshoes, masks and aprons. It features three upper compartments with large oval apertures for easy access to multiple glove sizes or mixed disposables, and a lower horizontal slot that dispenses standard rolls of aprons. The standard version incorporates an integral back plate/mounting plate for attaching a hand disinfection lotion or bottle holder. Manufactured from durable, easy-to-clean high-density styrene (H.D. styrene), the Danicentre provides a robust, long-lasting solution for treatment rooms, wards, clinics and other healthcare environments where PPE must be easily accessible at the point of care. This specific Medisave listing is a CLEARANCE item where the hinge has sheared; however, the unit still opens and closes, and is supplied at a reduced price with the damage clearly shown in images. Contents (gloves, aprons, bottles and fixings) are not included.

Bnefits

  • Provides a single, wall-mounted point for storing and dispensing PPE such as gloves, overshoes, masks and aprons
  • Three upper compartments allow segregation of glove sizes or different disposable items, improving organisation and workflow
  • Large oval apertures in each compartment provide quick and easy access to consumables, even in busy clinical environments
  • Lower horizontal slot is designed to take rolls of aprons and can also accommodate similar roll-format disposables (e.g. certain couch rolls or paper towels) depending on local use
  • Integral back plate on the standard model supports attachment of a hand disinfectant lotion bottle holder, promoting hand hygiene at the point of care
  • Constructed from heavy-duty, high-density styrene for durability, impact resistance and ease of cleaning
  • Wall-mounted design frees up worktop space and keeps PPE off potentially contaminated surfaces
  • Helps ensure PPE is stored in a consistent location, aiding compliance with infection control and PPE policies
  • Compact footprint relative to capacity, allowing installation in corridors, treatment rooms and near ward entrances

Indications

  • Use in hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, dental practices and other healthcare settings requiring organised PPE storage at the point of care
  • Treatment rooms, wards, theatres and outpatient areas where multiple glove sizes and aprons are used regularly
  • Care homes and community health facilities needing easy access to gloves and aprons for staff
  • Any medical, laboratory or industrial environment that requires quick access to disposable gloves, overshoes, masks and apron rolls
  • Areas implementing infection prevention and control protocols that specify dedicated PPE stations

Composition

  • Primary material: High-density styrene (H.D. styrene) plastic body and compartments
  • Integrated back plate on the standard model for mounting accessories such as a bottle holder for hand disinfectant lotion
  • Hinged front/cover section allowing access to interior for loading glove boxes and apron rolls
  • Moulded compartments forming three upper PPE sections and one lower apron-roll slot
  • Mounting points on rear for wall-fixing (screws and wall plugs not supplied; installer provides appropriate fixings)
  • This clearance unit: hinge has sheared but still allows opening and closing, as noted by Medisave

Formulation

  • Non-sterile, reusable wall-mounted dispenser cabinet (not a medical device or pharmaceutical product)
  • Rigid high-density styrene construction designed for long-term, repeated daily use
  • Smooth, wipe-clean surfaces suitable for routine cleaning with standard healthcare detergents and disinfectants
  • Neutral colour (typically white/cream) to suit clinical environments and allow easy visual inspection of cleanliness

Packaging

  • Supplied as a single assembled unit (DANICENTRE Standard Glove & Apron Dispenser) per carton
  • Manufacturer product code: ICC555 (standard model with integral mounting plate/back plate for bottle holder)
  • Unit dimensions: Height 480 mm, Length/Depth 145 mm, Max Width 560 mm (H480 mm x L560 mm x W148 mm in manufacturer specifications)
  • Approximate unit weight: ~2.5–2.6 kg
  • Carton typically contains one unit; screws/fixings are not included
  • Medisave clearance listing notes item damage (hinge sheared) and supplies accompanying images; contents (gloves, aprons, bottle holder, fixings) are not included

Usage

  • Select a suitable wall location near the point of care where gloves and aprons are frequently used, ensuring adequate clearance for the unit’s width (approx. 560 mm) and height (480 mm).
  • Using the rear mounting points, mark fixing positions on the wall; choose fixings appropriate for the wall type (e.g. masonry, plasterboard). Screws and wall plugs are not supplied and must be sourced by the installer.
  • Drill and insert wall plugs as required, then secure the Danicentre to the wall using suitable screws, ensuring it is level and firmly fixed.
  • Open the front of the unit and load the three upper compartments with glove boxes or other disposable items (e.g. overshoes, masks), arranging by size or type as desired. Ensure boxes are oriented so disposables can be withdrawn easily through the oval apertures.
  • Load a roll of aprons into the lower horizontal slot, ensuring the roll feeds smoothly and aprons can be dispensed one at a time.
  • If using the integral back plate, attach an appropriate bottle holder for hand disinfectant lotion (accessory not included) according to the accessory manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Label compartments if required to indicate glove sizes or contents in line with local PPE policies.
  • Clean the external and accessible internal surfaces regularly with suitable detergent/disinfectant wipes or solutions as part of routine environmental cleaning, following both facility protocols and cleaning product instructions.
  • For this clearance unit, inspect the damaged hinge before installation; ensure that, despite the sheared hinge, the door can still open and close safely without risk to users. Do not use if the damage compromises safe operation.
  • Do not overload the compartments beyond their intended capacity and avoid placing heavy objects on top of the unit.

Contraindications

  • Not intended for direct patient care or as a medical device; it is a storage and dispensing cabinet for PPE only.
  • Not suitable for installation on unstable, weak or non-load-bearing surfaces where the unit’s weight (plus contents) cannot be safely supported.
  • Should not be installed in areas where it may obstruct emergency exits, fire equipment or critical visual signage.
  • Use caution if the unit is damaged (e.g. cracked body or broken hinges); it should be repaired or replaced if structural integrity or safe operation is compromised.
  • Not designed for outdoor use or in environments with prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures or direct weather.

Adverse Effects

  • No direct clinical adverse effects are expected, as this is a non-contact storage product.
  • If installed incorrectly or on unsuitable surfaces, there is a risk of the unit becoming loose or falling, potentially causing minor injury or damage.
  • Sharp edges or cracks from damage (e.g. broken hinge) could pose a minor risk of cuts or snagging if not identified and mitigated.
  • Improper cleaning with incompatible chemicals could degrade the plastic (H.D. styrene), leading to discolouration, crazing or material weakening over time.

Storage Conditions

  • Store and use indoors in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to avoid UV or heat-related degradation of the plastic.
  • Before installation, keep the unit in its original packaging to protect from dust, dirt and accidental damage.
  • Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the packed unit to prevent warping or cracking of the H.D. styrene body.
  • Once installed, periodically inspect mounting points, hinge function and overall condition; tighten fixings and replace the unit if significant damage is noted.
  • Clean with suitable non-abrasive detergents/disinfectants according to facility infection control policies; avoid highly aggressive solvents that may damage plastic.

Duration

Not applicable \u2013 this is a reusable wall-mounted dispenser for PPE storage rather than a time-limited medical treatment or consumable product. It is intended for long-term use, subject to routine inspection and replacement if damaged or excessively worn.

Onset

Not applicable in a clinical treatment sense; organisational and workflow benefits (ready access to gloves and aprons, improved PPE compliance) are realised immediately once the unit is installed, stocked and in active use.
