Wall-mounted glove, overshoe and apron dispenser
Description
The DANIELS® Danicentre Basic is a wall-mounted utility cabinet designed for convenient storage and dispensing of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as disposable gloves, overshoes and aprons. The unit incorporates integral compartments accessed via large front apertures, with an internal shelf that accommodates most sizes of glove or overshoe boxes and a lower area for a roll of aprons. Made from durable, wipe-clean high-density styrene, the Danicentre Basic provides a robust, space-saving PPE station that can be mounted in treatment rooms, wards, clinics and other healthcare environments to keep essential PPE organised and easily accessible at the point of care. Unlike the Danicentre Standard, the Basic version does not include a back plate for attaching accessories such as a hand-disinfectant bottle holder.
Bnefits
- Provides an all-in-one wall-mounted station for gloves, overshoes and aprons, improving PPE availability at the point of care
- Internal shelf accommodates most common sizes of glove or overshoe boxes, supporting different sizes or types of gloves
- Lower section provides space for an apron roll, enabling convenient horizontal dispensing of disposable aprons
- Helps keep PPE organised, visible and off potentially contaminated work surfaces, supporting infection prevention measures
- High-density styrene construction is rugged, lightweight and easy to wipe clean with standard healthcare detergents/disinfectants
- Large front apertures allow quick, easy access to consumables even in busy clinical environments
- Wall-mounted design frees worktop space and creates a dedicated PPE location staff can rely on
- Simple, neutral styling integrates easily into a wide range of clinical and care settings
Indications
- Hospitals, clinics and GP surgeries requiring organised, wall-mounted PPE dispensing at the point of care
- Dental surgeries, outpatient departments and treatment rooms where multiple glove sizes and aprons are routinely used

- Any healthcare, laboratory or industrial environment implementing infection control protocols that specify dedicated PPE stations
- Areas where worktop space is limited and a wall-mounted PPE solution is preferred
Composition

- Front apertures for dispensing gloves/overshoes (large openings for easy access)
- Lower internal area and horizontal slot dedicated to holding and dispensing a roll of aprons

Packaging
- Supplied as one assembled DANIELS® Danicentre Basic wall-mounted dispenser per pack
- Branding: Daniels / Sharpsguard Danicentre family
- Typical external dimensions for Danicentre units (from manufacturer catalog): approximately 560 mm (width) x 480 mm (height) x 145 mm (depth)
- Pack quantity: 1 unit
- Fasteners (screws and wall plugs) and PPE contents (gloves, overshoes, aprons) are not included and must be sourced separately
Usage
- Select a suitable wall location near the point of care where gloves and aprons are frequently used, ensuring sufficient clearance for the unit’s width and height and that it will not obstruct emergency equipment or exits.
- Using the rear mounting points as a guide, mark the fixing positions on the wall. Use wall plugs and screws appropriate to the wall construction (e.g. masonry, plasterboard); fixings are not supplied with the unit.
- Drill the wall and insert wall plugs if required, then secure the Danicentre Basic to the wall with suitable screws, ensuring the unit is level and firmly attached.
- Open the front of the unit (if applicable) or load from the top/front depending on local practice, and place glove or overshoe boxes on the internal shelf. Arrange by size or type so that the corresponding box aligns with each dispensing aperture.
- Load a roll of disposable aprons into the lower area, feeding the leading edge through the lower slot so aprons can be dispensed one at a time.
- Optionally label or colour-code compartments to indicate glove sizes or contents, in line with local PPE policies.
- Clean the external surfaces and accessible internal areas regularly with approved cleaning/disinfection products compatible with HD styrene as part of routine environmental cleaning.
- Inspect fixings and the body of the unit periodically for signs of damage or loosening and re-tighten or replace as necessary.
- Do not overload the unit beyond the intended number/size of glove boxes and a single apron roll, and avoid placing heavy items on top of the cabinet.
Contraindications
- Not intended for direct patient use or as a medical device; it is solely a storage and dispensing unit for PPE.
- Should not be installed on surfaces that cannot safely support the weight of the unit plus its contents.
- Not suitable for use in outdoor or high-humidity environments where prolonged exposure to weather could degrade the plastic.
- Do not use or continue to use the unit if it is significantly damaged (e.g. cracked body, broken mounting points) or cannot be securely attached to the wall.
- Do not use as a step, support or load-bearing shelf; it is not designed to support body weight or heavy equipment.
Adverse Effects
- No direct clinical adverse effects are expected, as this is a non-contact storage product.
- If mounted incorrectly or on an unsuitable wall surface, there is a risk of the dispenser becoming loose or detaching, potentially causing minor injury or damage.
- Cracks or sharp edges resulting from damage could pose a minor risk of cuts or snagging if not identified and addressed.
- Use of harsh or incompatible cleaning chemicals may damage or discolour the HD styrene, potentially weakening the unit over time.
Storage Conditions
- Before installation, store the unit in a dry indoor environment away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to prevent warping or UV degradation of the plastic.
- Avoid stacking heavy objects on the packaged unit to prevent distortion or cracking of the HD styrene.
- Once installed, maintain the dispenser in a clean, dry interior setting and clean regularly with suitable, non-abrasive detergents/disinfectants.
- Do not expose the unit to open flames, extreme temperatures or aggressive solvents that could damage the material.
- Inspect periodically and replace the unit if significant wear, cracking or structural damage is observed.
Duration
Not applicable \u2013 this is a reusable wall-mounted PPE dispenser, intended for ongoing, long-term use subject to regular cleaning and inspection, rather than a time-limited medical treatment.
Onset
Not applicable in a clinical sense; organisational and infection-control benefits are realised as soon as the unit is installed, stocked with PPE and brought into routine use.
