Description
Disposable plastic covers designed specifically for the VeinLite PEDI transillumination vein finder. These latex-free, single-use sleeves are supplied in a pack of 50 and provide a hygienic, protective barrier between the device and the patient’s skin to help prevent cross-contamination and protect the VeinLite PEDI from blood splatter and fluid exposure.
Bnefits
- Purpose-made disposable plastic covers for the VeinLite PEDI vein finder, ensuring an optimal fit over the device.
- Single-use design helps prevent cross-contamination between patients by creating a clean surface for each examination.
- Protects the VeinLite PEDI from blood spatter, fluid splashes, gels and contact with skin, helping prolong device life and maintain cleanliness.
- Latex-free material suitable for patients and clinicians with latex sensitivity.
- Supplied as a convenient pack of 50 covers, ideal for busy clinical environments such as paediatrics, emergency medicine, phlebotomy and aesthetics.
- Simple to apply and remove, helping to maintain workflow efficiency and support infection-prevention protocols.
Indications
- Use as a barrier sleeve over the VeinLite PEDI device during venous access procedures (e.g. cannulation, blood draws) in paediatric patients.
- Protection of the VeinLite PEDI during clinical use in hospitals, GP practices, outpatient clinics, emergency departments and aesthetic practices.
- Infection prevention and control where a disposable barrier between the device and patient contact area is required.

- Non-sterile, single-use disposable plastic covers designed to fit the VeinLite PEDI vein finder device.
- Latex-free construction to reduce risk of allergic reactions.
Packaging
- Quantity: 50 disposable plastic covers per packet/box.
- Configured for VeinLite PEDI model only (VPED-DPC).
- Retail pack labelled with product and compatibility information.
- Typical UK pricing approximately £26.39 inc. VAT per pack of 50 when supplied via Medisave (subject to change).
Usage
- Ensure the VeinLite PEDI device is clean and dry before applying a new cover.
- Remove a single disposable cover from the pack with clean hands or gloves, taking care not to contaminate the inside of the sleeve.
- Open the cover and slide it carefully over the VeinLite PEDI so that the light-emitting ring and patient-contact area are fully enclosed by the plastic cover.
- Smooth out any folds in the plastic at the contact area to maintain optimal light transmission and image quality.
- Use the VeinLite PEDI as normal for vein visualisation, keeping the cover in place throughout the procedure.
- After use and before moving to the next patient, remove the cover from the device without touching the exposed portion that contacted the patient’s skin.
- Dispose of the used cover immediately in an appropriate clinical waste or general waste stream, in accordance with local infection control and waste management policies.
- Fit a new disposable cover for each patient or whenever the device becomes contaminated.
Contraindications
- Do not reuse; covers are intended strictly for single use.
- Not suitable for use on patients or clinicians with known sensitivity to the specific plastic material if such an allergy is documented.
- Not intended to replace standard cleaning and disinfection procedures for the VeinLite device; must be used in conjunction with routine decontamination as per manufacturer guidance.
Adverse Effects
- If fitted incorrectly with folds or air pockets, the cover may slightly reduce light transmission or image clarity.
- In rare cases, contact irritation may occur in individuals sensitive to the cover material.
- Risk of cross-contamination if the cover is reused or removed and reapplied.
Storage Conditions
- Store in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Keep in original packaging or a clean dispenser until use to protect from dust and contamination.
- Avoid excessive mechanical stress (tearing, stretching) that could compromise the integrity of the plastic sleeves before use.

Single-use barrier for the duration of one patient examination or venous access procedure; must be discarded after each use.
Onset
Immediate barrier and device protection upon fitting the cover over the VeinLite PEDI.
