30 ml pelican / dosage pump for 5 L containers
Description
The Ounce A Matic Pump Dispenser is a heavy-duty, reusable pelican-style dosage pump designed to fit standard 5 litre containers with a 38 mm neck. Each full stroke dispenses approximately one fluid ounce (30 ml), providing accurate, repeatable dosing of a wide range of liquids including hand soaps, hand sanitiser, barrier creams, detergents, cleaning chemicals, toilet additives, oils and other viscous fluids. Manufactured from robust plastic with a stainless-steel internal spring and valve, the pump incorporates a lock-down head to prevent leakage during storage or transport, making it ideal for infection control, housekeeping and general hygiene applications in healthcare and commercial environments.
Bnefits
- Provides accurate, consistent 30 ml dosing with each full pump action for reliable dilution and product usage.
- 38 mm closure is compatible with most standard 5 litre jerrycans and bulk chemical containers used in healthcare and janitorial settings.
- Helps reduce product wastage, overuse and spills by delivering a fixed, controlled dose.
- Hand-operated pelican pump design is simple to use and requires no power or complex installation.
- Lock-down pump head minimises risk of leaks and accidental dispensing during transport or when not in use.
- Heavy-duty, reusable construction suitable for high-footfall and high-usage areas such as clinics, wards, washrooms and industrial sites.
- Suitable for a wide range of liquids, including soaps, sanitisers, detergents and many cleaning chemicals.
- Supports infection control and hygiene protocols by offering convenient, contact-controlled dispensing from bulk containers.
Indications
- Dosing hand soaps, hand sanitisers and skin cleansers from 5 litre bulk containers in healthcare, food service and washroom environments.
- Dispensing barrier creams, moisturisers and emollients from large-volume containers in occupational health and clinical settings.
- Accurate dilution of detergents, surface cleaners, toilet additives and other cleaning chemicals in housekeeping and janitorial operations.
- Any setting requiring controlled 30 ml dosing from 5 litre containers, such as hospitals, clinics, care homes, educational facilities, offices, gyms and industrial sites.
Composition
- Pump body and dip-tube: high-density plastic (commonly HDPE or similar chemically resistant plastic).
- Internal spring: stainless steel.
- Internal valve and seals: chemically resistant plastics/elastomers suitable for soaps and many cleaning chemicals.
- Closure: 38 mm screw-on plastic collar compatible with standard 5 litre container necks (38/415 style).
Formulation
- Non-sterile, reusable, mechanical pump dispenser.
- Dispense volume: approximately 30 ml (1 US fluid ounce) per full pump stroke.
- Closure size: 38 mm screw thread for standard 5 litre containers.
- Lock-down feature on pump head to secure in a closed position for storage and transport.
- Designed for manual, hand-operated use with low to medium viscosity liquids (soaps, gels, detergents, sanitiser, lotions, etc.).
Packaging
- Supplied individually as a single Ounce A Matic Pump Dispenser per pack.
- Typically shipped in a protective plastic bag or small carton, labelled with product description and SKU (e.g. 019054 at Medisave; CE130-W or similar at other distributors).
- Intended to be fitted by the end-user directly onto a 5 litre container with a 38 mm neck.
Usage
- Check that the 5 litre container neck is 38 mm and compatible with the Ounce A Matic pump.
- Remove the original cap from the container and ensure the neck is clean and free from damage.
- Insert the dip tube of the pump into the container, then screw the pump closure firmly onto the 38 mm neck until secure and leak-tight.
- To use for the first time, release the lock-down mechanism (usually by twisting the pump head) and prime the pump by pressing repeatedly until liquid is drawn up and dispensed.
- Dispense product by pressing the pump head fully down; each full stroke delivers approximately 30 ml.
- For partial dosing or where a smaller volume is required, depress the pump part way or consult your supplier regarding the use of restrictor clips if available.
- After use, if the container is to be transported or stored, press the pump down and engage the lock-down position to minimise leakage.
- Periodically wipe the pump head and nozzle with a suitable disinfectant wipe to maintain hygiene and remove dried product.
- Do not use with strong acid-based or highly corrosive chemicals that may attack the stainless-steel spring or plastic components; consult chemical safety data sheets and supplier guidance before use.
- If the pump becomes stiff, damaged or fails to dispense accurately, replace it with a new Ounce A Matic pump.
Contraindications
- Do not use with incompatible or highly corrosive chemicals, particularly strong acid-based products that can corrode the internal stainless-steel spring or damage plastic components.
- Not suitable for highly viscous pastes or products that cannot flow through a standard pelican pump mechanism.
- Do not use where a sterile, single-use dispensing system is required.
- Do not use on containers with a neck size other than 38 mm unless a suitable adapter is provided.
- Do not use if the pump or closure is cracked, significantly worn or cannot be tightened securely onto the container.
Adverse Effects
- Improper fitting or damaged components may result in leakage or spillage of chemicals, which could cause skin or eye irritation depending on the product dispensed.
- Use with incompatible or corrosive chemicals may lead to pump failure, leakage or breakage.
- If not cleaned regularly, dried product around the nozzle can cause splashing or irregular dosing, potentially leading to overuse or underuse.
- Failure to lock the pump during transport may increase the risk of accidental discharge and contamination of storage areas.
Storage Conditions
- Store unused pumps in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- When attached to a container, store the container and pump upright on a stable surface to minimise leakage.
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures that could warp plastic components or degrade the spring.
- Keep out of reach of children and unauthorised users, especially when used with hazardous chemicals.
Duration
Not applicable; this is a reusable mechanical dispenser intended for ongoing daily use until it wears out, is damaged or is replaced for hygiene or operational reasons.
Onset
Not applicable as a medical treatment; the pump dispenses product immediately once installed, primed and the pump head is depressed.
