Skin brightening / anti-pigmentation serum

Description

Alastin A-Luminate Brightening Serum is a professional-grade, hydroquinone- and retinol-free brightening serum formulated to target multiple forms of unwanted discoloration, including dark spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and brown patches. Powered by ALASTIN’s proprietary PATH-3 Technology and a multi-modal blend of ingredients such as tranexamic acid, niacinamide, peptides, antioxidants and botanical extracts, it acts on several steps of the melanogenesis pathway in melanocytes, keratinocytes and endothelial cells. The non-comedogenic, clinically tested serum is designed for twice-daily use to help even skin tone, minimise recurrence of pigmentation and protect against future damage, while supporting overall skin health and luminosity.

  • Dispense approximately 1–2 pumps and apply evenly to the face; many practitioners also recommend extending to neck and décolletage if tolerated.
  • In the morning, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen as the final step in the regimen to help protect against UV-induced pigmentation.
  • Avoid direct contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Can be layered under moisturiser and other non-irritating skincare products; generally applied before heavier creams and sunscreens.
  • Introduce gradually in very sensitive skin (e.g. once daily or every other day) and increase to twice daily as tolerated, following professional advice.

  • Use as directed by a healthcare professional if part of a pre- or post-procedure protocol.

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the serum’s ingredients (e.g. tranexamic acid, niacinamide, peptides, botanical extracts or excipients).
  • Broken, irritated or compromised skin barrier on the intended treatment area (e.g. active dermatitis, infection, open wounds or significant peeling) unless cleared by a healthcare professional.
  • Use immediately after aggressive resurfacing procedures on the same area (e.g. deep chemical peels, ablative lasers) without explicit approval and timing guidance from the treating practitioner.
  • Caution in individuals with a history of strong reactions to multiple cosmetic products or with very reactive/sensitive skin; professional supervision is recommended.
  • Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been specifically established; use only if recommended by a qualified healthcare professional.

Adverse Effects

  • Generally well tolerated in clinical studies; however, as with many active cosmetic serums, some users may experience transient mild irritation, redness, tingling or dryness, especially when first introduced.
  • Rarely, more pronounced irritation, stinging or sensitivity may occur; if this happens, frequency of use should be reduced or discontinued and advice sought from a professional.
  • Very rare potential for allergic or idiosyncratic reactions (e.g. persistent erythema, swelling, itching or rash); discontinue use and seek medical attention if such reactions occur.
  • As a brightening product used in conjunction with increased sun protection, no specific photosensitising ingredient such as hydroquinone or retinoids is present, but inadequate sunscreen use may limit results or allow further pigmentation to develop.

  • Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
  • Keep the airless pump securely closed when not in use to maintain product integrity and minimise oxidation or contamination.
  • Do not freeze or expose to extreme temperatures.
