Nelsons Arnicare Cream 50g is a traditional herbal medicinal cream used for the symptomatic relief of bruises. Usage
- For external use only.
- Check that the tube seal is intact before first use; pierce the seal with the point in the top of the cap if present.
- Adults, the elderly and children: apply the cream gently to the bruised area.
- Use on unbroken skin only; do not apply to cuts, open wounds or irritated skin.
- Apply as required up to several times a day (commonly up to 4 times daily) following on-pack or leaflet guidance.
- Wash hands after use unless the hands are the area being treated.
- If symptoms worsen, persist or do not improve within about 7 days, or if any unusual symptoms occur, consult a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
- Always read the label and (where supplied) the patient information leaflet before use.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to Arnica montana or to any of the excipients (including parabens such as methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate)
- Application to broken, damaged or irritated skin
- Use on mucous membranes or near the eyes, mouth or other sensitive areas
- History of allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to topical arnica products
- Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended without medical advice, in line with common herbal product cautions
Adverse Effects
- Possible local skin reactions such as redness, rash, itching or irritation, particularly in individuals sensitive to arnica or parabens
- If a rash or other irritation occurs, discontinue use and seek medical advice if necessary
- Systemic adverse effects are not expected when used topically as directed on intact skin
Storage Conditions
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Store at or below 25°C (room temperature), in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the tube and carton.
- Ensure the cap is firmly closed when not in use.
Duration
Intended for short-term use on bruises; apply until bruising and associated symptoms have improved. If symptoms worsen, persist or do not improve within approximately 7 days, medical advice should be sought.
Onset
