Description

Avène Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream is a rich, fragrance-free barrier repair cream formulated with Avène Thermal Spring Water and [C+-Restore]™ postbiotic to help restore, purify and soothe irritated, weakened or dry skin for the whole family (infants, children and adults). It forms a protective occlusive film with a “dressing effect” that shields skin from external aggressors while promoting epidermal repair from 48 hours.

Indications

  • Sensitive, irritated or weakened skin in infants, children and adults.
  • Superficial epidermal irritations (redness, dry patches, minor scratches, superficial post-procedural irritation as advised by a healthcare professional).
  • Localized areas of dryness, roughness or chapping on face and body.
  • Irritations due to climatic aggressions (cold, wind), friction or superficial trauma.
  • Areas of compromised skin barrier requiring a protective reparative cream.
  • External intimate areas with superficial irritation (as directed by a healthcare professional).

Usage

  • Apply once or twice daily to the affected area on clean, dry skin.
  • Use a sufficient amount of cream to form a thin, even layer over the irritated area.
  • Gently massage until the cream is distributed; do not rub aggressively on fragile skin.
  • Suitable for infants (from birth), children and adults.
  • Can be used on the face, body and external intimate areas as advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • For external use only; do not ingest or apply inside the mouth, nose or on mucous membranes.
  • Discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if irritation worsens or does not improve.

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to Avène Thermal Spring Water or any listed ingredient.
  • Do not apply to open, bleeding, oozing or heavily exuding wounds without medical advice.
  • Do not use on infected skin lesions unless recommended by a healthcare professional.
  • For external use only; do not apply to eyes or internal mucous membranes.
  • If a previous adverse reaction to Cicalfate or Cicalfate+ products has occurred, avoid re-use unless cleared by a healthcare professional.

Adverse Effects

  • Transient mild irritation, stinging or redness at the application site may occur, particularly on very compromised skin.
  • Allergic contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity reactions to one or more ingredients are possible but uncommon.
  • If intense burning, swelling, widespread rash, itching or other signs of allergy develop, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Storage Conditions

  • Store at room temperature, ideally below 25–30°C.
  • Do not expose to temperatures below 0°C (do not freeze).
  • Protect from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Duration

Use once or twice daily until the skin is visibly repaired and comfortable; duration will vary depending on the severity, location and cause of irritation and should be adapted based on clinical response or medical advice.

Onset

Provides immediate soothing of discomfort after application and promotes restoration of sensitive, dry or irritated skin from approximately 48 hours of regular use.
