Description

Bioderma Cicabio SPF 50+ Ultra-Réparateur is an ultra-repairing, soothing and anti-hyperpigmentation cream developed for weakened, damaged or irritated skin that is exposed to the sun. Suitable for the whole family (adults, children, babies; excluding premature infants), it combines a very high SPF 50+ broad-spectrum photoprotection with an advanced repairing complex to optimise epidermal reconstruction, restore microbiome diversity and help achieve a more aesthetically pleasing scar. The fragrance-free, dye-free and non-comedogenic formula includes copper and zinc antibacterial agents, hyaluronic acid and centella asiatica-derived triterpenes (asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid) together with ectoin and a grapevine extract to promote high-quality healing, hydration and protection. Its non-greasy, non-sticky, water-resistant texture has a \bandage effect\ that shields the area from external aggressions while remaining easy to spread and massage over scars.

Indications

  • Damaged, weakened or irritated skin exposed to the sun.
  • Minor skin aggressions and superficial epidermal damage (after dermatological procedures such as laser, superficial peels, dermabrasion, sutured wounds once closed, etc.), as advised by a healthcare professional.
  • Scars and recent marks at risk of post-scarring hyperpigmentation when exposed to UV.
  • Sunburned or over-heated skin (excluding burns due to excessive sun exposure for which it should not be used directly on the wound).

Usage

  • Use on damaged but re-epithelialised (closed) skin; do not apply to open or oozing wounds.
  • STEP 1: Cleanse gently with an appropriate mild cleanser such as Cicabio Baume Lavant, then pat dry.
  • STEP 2: Apply Cicabio SPF 50+ Ultra-Réparateur to the weakened area in a thin or thick layer, as advised by your healthcare professional.
  • Use twice daily (morning and, if relevant, midday/afternoon) until the skin is completely repaired.
  • In case of sun exposure, reapply frequently (at least every 2 hours and after sweating, swimming or towel drying) to maintain protection.
  • Scar massage protocol, if authorised by your healthcare professional: massage with the flat hand along the direction of the scar; then perform small circular motions with the fingertips (local friction); finally use gentle "pinch and roll" (palpation and rolling) along the scar to improve suppleness.
  • Avoid the eye contour and mucous membranes.
  • Can be used under makeup once fully absorbed.
  • Do not expose babies and young children directly to the sun; when exposure cannot be avoided, use protective clothing and adapted photoprotection on intact skin.

Contraindications

  • Do not apply to open, oozing or bleeding wounds, or to second/third-degree burns or burns caused by excessive sun exposure.
  • Do not apply to infected skin or in cases of obvious local infection without medical supervision.
  • Avoid use on mucous membranes (inside the mouth, nose, genital area) and around the eyes.
  • Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the listed ingredients, including UV filters, centella asiatica derivatives, preservatives or excipients.
  • Excessive or unprotected sun exposure remains dangerous even when using high SPF products; follow general sun-safety recommendations.
  • Premature babies: not recommended unless explicitly advised by a healthcare professional.

Adverse Effects

  • Possible mild transient stinging, burning or redness at the application site, especially on very sensitive or recently damaged skin.
  • Rare risk of allergic or irritant contact dermatitis to one or more components (e.g. UV filters, preservatives, centella asiatica derivatives, BHT).
  • In acne-prone or very oily skin, there is a small risk of comedones or breakouts despite the non-comedogenic claim.
  • Eye contact may cause irritation, tearing or burning; rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
  • In case of persistent irritation, swelling, blistering or any unexpected reaction, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Storage Conditions

  • Store at room temperature, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep the tube tightly closed after each use to protect the formula from air and contamination.
  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging and discard if the texture, colour or odour changes markedly.

Duration

Apply twice daily on damaged but closed skin until the epidermis is fully repaired and the scar has matured, typically for several weeks to a few months depending on the severity and medical advice. Use as long as the area is at risk of sun-induced hyperpigmentation.

Onset

Soothing of discomfort and reduction in the urge to scratch may be felt from the first applications, while visible improvement in redness, irritation and scar quality occurs progressively over days and weeks of regular use. Protection against post-scarring hyperpigmentation is provided immediately when the product is applied in sufficient quantity and renewed frequently during sun exposure.
