Usage
- Ensure the patient’s skin is visibly clean before application; remove any make-up or surface contaminants with a suitable remover.
- Wash hands thoroughly and prepare an aseptic field; wear appropriate gloves before starting the procedure.
- Decant a sufficient amount of Clinisept+ Prep & Procedure into a clean disposable gallipot, or apply directly from the bottle onto a sterile gauze or cleansing pad. Use a fresh, clean gallipot for each patient and discard any unused solution after the procedure.
- Apply by thoroughly wetting a sterile gauze or cleansing pad with Clinisept+ and gently wiping over the whole area to be treated using a circular motion, ensuring the skin is completely wetted.
- Approximately 10 ml is sufficient to saturate a standard 10 cm cotton gauze pad; typical recommended volume per treatment is 30–50 ml, adjusted according to the size of the treatment area.
- If treating around the eyes, ask the patient to close their eyes before wiping over the eyelids.
- Allow Clinisept+ to remain in wet contact with the skin for at least 15 seconds to achieve effective antimicrobial action.
- Once applied, Clinisept+ Prep & Procedure leaves no residue on the skin and can be left to dry naturally. Do not dry or touch the skin after application unless with sterile gauze, a dressing pad, clean towel, or clean gloved hands.
- During the procedure, Clinisept+ may be reapplied using fresh sterile gauze or pads as required to maintain high levels of hygiene; discard used pads after each pass.
- Immediately following the procedure, for maximum care of recovering or irritated skin, thoroughly soak a gauze mask/square or cleansing pad with Clinisept+ and leave it placed on the treated area for 5–10 minutes to cool, calm and reduce redness. Repeat as necessary.
- For professional use only. External use on skin and mucosa; do not ingest. Avoid direct eye contact; if contact occurs, rinse with copious amounts of water.
