Clay mask / exfoliating mask

Description

Dermaceutic Mask 15% is a purifying clay-based mask designed to deeply cleanse and exfoliate combination to oily, acne-prone skin. Its potent blend of 15% glycolic acid, 2% salicylic acid and absorbent clays (bentonite/kaolin) removes dead skin cells, excess sebum and impurities; tightens pores and leaves the skin with a matte, purified appearance. Intended especially for oily or acne-prone skin, Mask 15 helps reduce imperfections, refine texture, and support clearer, smoother skin.

Bnefits

 • Exfoliates dead skin cells and removes impurities for a cleaner, smoother skin surface.
 • Reduces excess sebum and helps control oiliness — beneficial for oily or combination skin.
 • Tightens and refines pores for a more refined, matte appearance.
 • Unclogs pores and helps prevent acne or breakouts by removing debris and sebum.
 • Stimulates skin cell renewal thanks to glycolic and salicylic acids, improving skin texture over time.

Indications

 • Oily or combination skin needing deep cleansing and oil control.
 • Acne-prone or blemish-prone skin requiring unclogged pores and reduction in sebum build-up.
 • Skin with large or dilated pores looking for pore refinement and smoother texture.
 • Congested or dull skin needing exfoliation and renewal to improve clarity and radiance.
 • Not recommended for sensitive or easily irritated skin due to active acids; better suited for oily/combination skin requiring strong treatment.

Composition

 • 15% Glycolic Acid — alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that exfoliates dead skin cells by reducing corneocyte cohesion and stimulating skin cell renewal.
 • 2% Salicylic Acid — beta hydroxy acid (BHA), lipophilic and helps unclog pores by dissolving lipids and reducing intercorneocyte cohesion.
 • Bentonite (clay) — highly absorbent clay that absorbs excess sebum and toxins, tightens pores and purifies skin.
 • Kaolin — mild clay that contributes to oil absorption and mask texture/stability.
 • Other base/emollient and formulation agents: Cetyl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Steareth-21, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Octadecyl Di-T-Butyl-4-Hydroxyhydrocinnamate.

Formulation

 • Clay-based purifying mask / peeling mask with AHA and BHA acids and absorbent clay.
 • Intended for periodic use (not daily) as a deep cleansing and exfoliating treatment.

Packaging

 • 50 ml jar or tube (marketed as 50 ml) — typical packaging for clay masks in professional skincare distribution.
 • Outer box with full ingredient list, usage instructions and safety warnings (depends on retailer).

Usage

 • Apply a thin, even layer to cleansed and dry skin (face and neck), avoiding the eye contour area.
 • Leave on for 2 to 4 minutes (or until slight tingling) — do not exceed recommended duration.
 • Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
 • Use once or twice a week depending on skin tolerance and oiliness level.
 • Follow with a gentle, hydrating moisturiser; if used during day, apply broad-spectrum SPF (due to AHA/BHA exfoliation increasing photosensitivity). (common best practice — implied by active acids)

Contraindications

 • Do not apply to broken, inflamed or irritated skin.
 • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
 • Not recommended for very sensitive or reactive skin, or users not accustomed to strong exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA).
 • Use caution (or avoid) during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to high AHA concentration, as per manufacturer guidance.
 • Avoid combining with other strong exfoliating treatments (e.g. retinoids, peels) on the same day unless advised by a dermatology professional. (standard acid mask precaution)

Adverse Effects

 • Possible transient tingling, stinging or mild burning sensation during mask application, especially for first-time users or those with reactive skin.
 • Temporary redness, dryness or flakiness after use due to exfoliating acids.
 • Potential over-drying or skin barrier disruption if used too frequently or left on too long; dryness should be managed with moisturiser. (common for clay + acid masks)
 • Increased photosensitivity — risk of sunburn if adequate sun protection not used after application. (common AHA / BHA risk)

Storage Conditions

 • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. (standard for cosmetic masks)
 • Keep the container tightly closed when not in use to maintain formula stability.
 • Keep out of reach of children. (general cosmetic precaution)

Duration

Periodic use: 1–2 times per week as part of skincare routine or acne/oil-control protocol. No fixed long-term ‘treatment duration’; improvements in skin clarity, sebum regulation and texture usually observed with consistent use over several weeks.

Onset

Initial effects such as reduced oiliness, a cleaner feel and smoother surface visible immediately after rinse; more substantial improvements (finer pores, fewer breakouts, smoother texture) appear over several weeks of regular use.
