Depigmenting / pigmentation-correcting cream

Description

Dermaceutic Mela Cream is a potent depigmenting cream formulated to reduce pigment spots, melasma and uneven skin tone. As part of the Mela Peel protocol, it works on multiple levels of melanogenesis to inhibit melanin transfer, regulate pigment production and promote skin renewal — resulting in a more uniform, radiant and balanced complexion.

Bnefits

  • Reduces the appearance of pigment spots, melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
  • Harmonises and evens out skin tone for a more uniform complexion.
  • Regulates melanin production and inhibits melanin transfer in the skin.
  • Promotes skin cell turnover and renewal via exfoliating acids and retinol, helping fade pigmentation over time.
  • Improves skin texture and may also benefit uneven tone and post-acne marks.

Indications

  • Pigment spots, melasma or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
  • Uneven skin tone or complexion irregularities.
  • Dark spots due to sun exposure, ageing or hormonal causes.
  • Use as part of a pigmentation-correction or brightening protocol (possibly after peels or other aesthetic treatments).

Composition

  • Water (Aqua) — solvent/base.
  • Paraffinum Liquidum (mineral oil) — emollient/occlusive base.
  • Cetearyl Alcohol — fatty alcohol for emulsion stability and skin-softening emollient.
  • Kojic Acid — tyrosinase inhibitor, reduces melanin synthesis to brighten pigmentation spots.
  • Arbutin — skin–brightening agent that helps fade dark spots and even skin tone.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) — reduces melanin transfer, improves skin barrier and evens pigmentation.
  • Mandelic Acid — gentle AHA that exfoliates dead skin cells and supports skin renewal while reducing pigmentation.
  • Salicylic Acid — BHA that helps exfoliate keratinized cells and supports skin renewal, helpful for pigmentation and post-acne marks.
  • Phytic Acid — antioxidant and chelating agent helping to regulate melanin production and lighten pigmentation.
  • Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract (glycyrrhetinic acid) — brightening and soothing active helping to reduce pigmentation and calm skin.
  • Retinol (Vitamin A) — boosts cell turnover, stimulates collagen and accelerates renewal of pigmented cells.
  • Tocopherol (Vitamin E) — antioxidant to protect skin from oxidative stress.
  • Emollients, emulsifiers, preservatives and stabilisers — Polysorbate 20, Ceteareth-12, Glycerin, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, etc. (full INCI as per manufacturer).

Formulation

  • Cosmeceutical depigmenting cream / pigmentation-correcting night cream.
  • Rich emulsion base (oil + water + emollients) with multiple active ingredients targeting melanogenesis, pigment transfer and skin renewal.
  • Formulated for evening/night application (due to acids and retinol) to avoid sun exposure after application.

Packaging

  • 30 ml airless pump bottle (or opaque container) to protect sensitive actives (retinol, acids, antioxidants) from light and air.
  • Outer carton/box with full INCI list, usage instructions and safety warnings (varies by distributor/market).

Usage

  • Apply a very small amount to cleansed, dry skin in the evening.
  • Focus application on pigmented or discoloured areas; can be used on full face if needed.
  • If retinol and acids are new to your skin, begin with 1–2 applications per week, and gradually increase frequency as skin builds tolerance.
  • On any sign of irritation (redness, stinging, sensitivity), reduce frequency or discontinue use.
  • Always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day while using this product due to increased photosensitivity from acids and retinol.
  • Do not use on children. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Contraindications

  • Avoid using on very sensitive skin, or skin not accustomed to acids/retinol.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding (contains retinol).

  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight after application without proper sun protection.

  • Increased photosensitivity; risk of sunburn if sun protection is not applied during the day.
  • Potential for allergic reaction or irritation in those sensitive to active ingredients (acids, retinol, botanical extracts, preservatives).

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. (standard for cosmetic creams with active ingredients)
  • Keep container tightly closed when not in use to preserve stability of acids and retinol. (common cosmetic precaution)
