Superficial AHA peel for sensitive skin
Description
FILLMED LIGHT PEEL (100 ml) is a professional, superficial chemical peel formulated for sensitive skin showing first signs of ageing. Based on a 20% gluconolactone and mandelic acid complex at about pH 3, it provides gentle keratolytic exfoliation to smooth fine lines, reduce dullness and revive radiance while maintaining high tolerance. Intended exclusively for in-clinic use by trained medical and aesthetic professionals as part of the FILLMED medical peels range.
Bnefits
- Targets fine lines and first signs of ageing on sensitive skin
- Improves radiance and helps restore a fresher, more luminous complexion
- Gently exfoliates to refine skin texture and smooth superficial irregularities
- Revitalises dull, sallow skin and helps even out the appearance of tone
- Superficial peel with keratolytic action designed to be well tolerated on sensitive skin
- Can be used before aesthetic procedures to optimise skin quality
- Non-invasive, needle-free anti-ageing option with minimal downtime when used correctly
- Gluconolactone provides PHA exfoliation with moisturising and antioxidant properties
- Mandelic acid acts as an AHA suitable for more reactive or darker phototypes than glycolic, while still providing anti-ageing benefits
Indications
- Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Dull, tired-looking skin lacking radiance
- Uneven, rough skin texture of the superficial epidermis
- First signs of photoageing on sensitive skin
- Skin renewal and complexion refresh prior to or between aesthetic treatments
- Patients seeking a gentle, superficial peel without needles or injections

- Peel complex 20%: gluconolactone + mandelic acid (AHA / PHA blend)
- Solution pH: approximately 3.0 (±0.3) for superficial keratolytic action
- Classed as a medical superficial peel within the FILLMED peels range
- Full excipient list and concentrations are provided in the official FILLMED LIGHT PEEL instructions for use (IFU)
Formulation
- Medical superficial peel solution for sensitive skin
- AHA / PHA complex with gluconolactone and mandelic acid
- Liquid peel to be applied with a brush in a controlled, in-clinic protocol
- Formulated to combine efficacy with high tolerance for sensitive skin types
Packaging
- 1 x 100 ml bottle of FILLMED LIGHT PEEL solution
- 1 x dosing tube for accurate measurement of peel volume (around 2.5–3 ml per treatment)
- 1 x application brush for even distribution
- Boxed kit with bottle, dosing tube, brush and instructions for use
- One kit provides approximately 40 peel treatments when used as directed
Usage
- For professional use only: must be applied by authorised and properly trained medical or aesthetic practitioners in accordance with local legislation.
- Thoroughly cleanse and degrease the skin; many protocols recommend the use of a dedicated FILLMED PRE PEEL solution before peeling.
- Measure the required amount of LIGHT PEEL solution (approximately 2.5–3 ml) using the dosing tube.
- Apply a uniform layer of the peel to the treatment area (face, neck and/or décolleté) using the supplied brush, avoiding eyes, mucous membranes and any broken skin.
- Leave the peel in contact with the skin for about 3 minutes for the first session; contact time can be adjusted slightly in subsequent sessions according to skin response and protocol.
- After the set time, rinse thoroughly with water and/or neutralise using the recommended FILLMED POST PEEL or soothing product, then gently dry the skin.
- Standard treatment course: 4 sessions of LIGHT PEEL spaced approximately 14–15 days apart (about 2 weeks), followed by a maintenance protocol typically twice per year as needed.
- Advise patients to avoid intense sun exposure and heat sources for several days after each peel and to apply a broad-spectrum high-SPF sunscreen daily.
- Instruct patients to use gentle, non-irritating skincare between sessions and to avoid other exfoliating or irritating products (e.g. strong retinoids or scrubs) unless directed by the practitioner.
- Always follow the latest official FILLMED LIGHT PEEL instructions for use and local clinical guidelines for superficial chemical peels.
Contraindications
- Known allergy or hypersensitivity to gluconolactone, mandelic acid or any other ingredient in the formulation
- Active skin infection, inflammation, dermatitis or open wounds in the treatment area
- Compromised skin barrier (e.g. severe eczema, active psoriasis, recent sunburn) on the intended treatment site
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless a qualified physician specifically decides otherwise according to local guidelines
- Recent use of strong topical or systemic retinoids or other photosensitising treatments, according to practitioner assessment and recommended wash-out periods
- History of abnormal scarring (hypertrophic or keloid) or very poor wound healing, unless the clinician judges the peel appropriate with caution
- Use on darker phototypes (higher Fitzpatrick types) may carry an increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; FILLMED and distributors specifically note that LIGHT PEEL is not suitable for darker skin tones due to potential for uneven patches of pigmentation
- Any general medical condition or concurrent treatment that, in the clinician’s judgement, makes chemical peeling unsafe
Adverse Effects
- Transient burning, tingling or warmth during application and shortly after neutralisation
- Temporary erythema (redness) and mild oedema in the treated area
- Mild desquamation or flaking of the stratum corneum over the days following treatment
- Dryness, tightness or heightened skin sensitivity for several days post-peel
- Improper use or use on unsuitable skin types may increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, prolonged erythema, or, rarely, scarring
- Very rare allergic reactions or contact dermatitis to one of the ingredients; any severe or persistent reaction requires medical evaluation and, if appropriate, vigilance reporting to the manufacturer
Storage Conditions
- Store in the original outer carton, protected from light.
- Keep at controlled room temperature, generally between about 8°C and 25°C; do not freeze.
- Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use to minimise oxidation and contamination.
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging or if the solution shows signs of deterioration.
- Keep out of reach of children and non-professional users.
Duration
Usually performed as a course of 4 in-clinic peel sessions spaced about 14\u201315 days apart (total treatment duration around 6\u20138 weeks), with maintenance courses recommended roughly twice per year depending on clinical assessment and patient goals.
Onset
Many patients notice enhanced radiance and smoother skin texture after the first one or two sessions, with more visible improvements in fine lines, dullness and overall skin quality typically evident after completion of the 4-session course and subsequent maintenance cycles.
