    Usage

    • Place the universal desk charger on a stable surface near a suitable UK mains outlet.
    • Insert the lithium-ion handles into the charging wells and connect the charger to the mains supply as per manufacturer instructions.
    • Attach the AutoStep ophthalmoscope head or Elite retinoscope head securely to a charged handle before use.
    • For ophthalmoscopy, select the desired aperture and filter, adjust the dioptre wheel to focus, and perform the eye examination in a dimly lit room following standard clinical technique.
    • For retinoscopy, position the patient at the recommended working distance, align the retinoscope streak or spot with the pupil, and move the light beam to assess refractive error according to clinical practice.
    • After use, switch off the instrument and return the handles to the desk charger to maintain battery charge.
    • Clean and disinfect external surfaces according to the manufacturer’s instructions for use, using only compatible cleaning agents.
    • Do not immerse the handles, heads or charger in liquids and do not use if the device appears damaged; contact service support.
