Medical device – absorbable PDO lifting thread
  • CE 2292 marking for Countourel PDO thread range, compliant with European medical device regulations.
Face & body multidirectional cog PDO thread (tensor thread)

Description

Countourel Max 18G W / 100mm is a CE-marked, absorbable PDO lifting thread with multidirectional cogs, designed for substantial lift, anchoring, and tissue elevation in thick skin and heavy tissue on face and body. Supplied in a box of 16 sterile threads preloaded on 18G, 100 mm W-shaped cannulae, it is intended for non-surgical face- and body-contouring procedures by trained medical professionals.

Bnefits

  • Multi-directional cogs provide high traction power and strong anchoring for effective lift and tissue repositioning.
  • Suitable for thick skin and heavy tissue — ideal for middle and lower face, body areas, or patients requiring more substantial lift.
  • Immediate mechanical lifting effect upon insertion; visible lift immediately after procedure.
  • Stimulates natural collagen formation over time as PDO thread is absorbed — helps improve skin texture and firmness long term.
  • Resorbable PDO threads — no permanent implant left, lowering long-term foreign-body risk.
  • Versatile: suitable for facial lifting (middle/lower third), deep wrinkle correction, body contouring, and customized applications per practitioner’s discretion.

Indications

  • Non-surgical lifting and contouring of middle and lower third of the face (cheeks, jawline, chin) for sagging skin or loss of firmness.
  • Improvement of deep wrinkles and skin laxity on face.
  • Lifting and contouring of body areas — e.g. arms, abdomen, neck, or other regions where tissue elevation and tightening desired.
  • General skin tightening and rejuvenation via collagen stimulation in treated areas.

Composition

  • Polydioxanone (PDO) absorbable monofilament thread
  • Bidirectional / multidirectional cogs (barbs) molded into the thread for anchoring tissue
  • Preloaded on a sterile 18G, 100 mm W-shaped cannula for insertion

Formulation

  • Resorbable medical device (thread lift) using PDO material
  • Cog (barbed) thread type for tissue anchoring and lift
  • Preloaded cannula delivery format (18G, 100 mm, W-shaped)

Packaging

  • Box of 16 sterile, individually packed threads / cannula assemblies (Countourel Max 18G W / 100mm, 16 pcs).
  • Sterile, single-use packaging to ensure sterility until use.

Usage

  • For use only by qualified and trained aesthetic physicians or dermatologists experienced in PDO-thread lifting techniques.
  • Prepare and disinfect the treatment area; apply local anesthesia if required.
  • Insert the 18G W-shaped cannula with the preloaded cog thread under the skin at the planned insertion lines, anchoring in deeper subcutaneous tissue.
  • Apply mechanical tension to reposition and lift tissue; once correct placement is achieved, withdraw cannula leaving the thread in place.
  • Post-procedure care: avoid strenuous physical activity, facial/body massages, heavy pressure on treated area for recommended period; follow practitioner’s aftercare instructions.

Contraindications

  • Active infection, inflammation or skin disease at or near the planned insertion sites.
  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to PDO (polydioxanone) or any component of the thread/cannula.
  • Uncontrolled systemic diseases, coagulation disorders, or use of anticoagulants/antiplatelet therapy that precludes safe invasive procedures — per physician judgment.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless cleared by physician and based on risk–benefit assessment.
  • Severe skin laxity requiring surgical intervention rather than thread lifting — as thread lifts may not provide adequate result in such cases.

Adverse Effects

  • Temporary swelling, bruising, redness or tenderness at insertion sites — common and typically resolve within days.
  • Minor bleeding or hematoma along cannula or thread paths.
  • Temporary puckering, dimpling or irregularities in skin contour as threads settle — usually improve over time.
  • Risk of infection if aseptic technique or aftercare is inadequate.
  • Possible asymmetry or uneven lift if threads placed incorrectly or if patient-specific healing is uneven — requires follow-up and possible correction by professional.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in original, sealed sterile packaging until use.
  • Protect from moisture, excessive heat, direct sunlight; avoid freezing or high humidity.
  • Store at room temperature in a clean, dry environment according to medical device storage guidelines.

Duration

Long-term aesthetic effect often maintained for up to 12\u201318 months after procedure, depending on patient, area treated and lifestyle.

Onset

Immediate mechanical lift and repositioning of tissues visible right after insertion; additional improvement over subsequent weeks due to collagen stimulation around PDO threads.
