Irrigation / Infusion Set

Description

The Easyflow Irrigation Set – Double Lead with Bubble Trap (code EMC4055N) is a sterile, single-use Y-type irrigation set designed for medical irrigation and infusion procedures. The set includes two Easyflow spikes with protectors, two clamps, a chamber with a bubble trapper to remove air bubbles from fluid lines, a 1676 mm tube (ID 7.05 mm), a roller clamp, a medical clamp, a catheter adapter with silicone tubing (114 mm long, ID 4.75 mm) and a cap. It is intended to safely deliver irrigation or infusion fluids while minimising the risk of air embolism, and is CE-marked. The set is supplied sterile and individually wrapped for single-patient use.

Bnefits

  • Dual-lead Y-type design allows simultaneous connection of two fluid sources or high-flow irrigation from a single bag.
  • Integrated bubble-trap chamber helps remove air bubbles, reducing risk of air embolism during infusion or irrigation.
  • Long tubing (≈1676 mm) provides flexibility and mobility for clinical setups.
  • Includes all necessary components (spikes, clamps, catheter adapter, silicone tubing) in a single sterile set — ready to use out of the pack.
  • Single-use, sterile and disposable — minimises cross-contamination and infection risk.
  • CE-marked medical device supplied by a recognised distributor.

Indications

  • Irrigation of body cavities, surgical sites or organs requiring sterile fluid flushing.
  • Continuous bladder or urinary tract irrigation (e.g. post-surgery or catheter maintenance) when used with appropriate catheter / drainage systems.
  • General infusion or irrigation procedures where controlled fluid delivery and air-bubble removal are required.
  • Endoscopic irrigation during urological or surgical procedures (when used with appropriate endoscope sheath and sterile fluid).

Composition

  • Flexible medical-grade tubing (PVC or equivalent) — main tube 1676 mm length with internal diameter 7.05 mm
  • Silicone tubing adapter — 114 mm long, internal diameter 4.75 mm
  • Injection spikes (2) with protective caps
  • Roller clamp and medical clamp (clamp components likely PVC or medical-grade polymer)
  • Y-type connector / bubble-trap chamber (moulded plastic / medical polymer)
  • Catheter adapter and cap (medical-grade plastic / polymer components)

Formulation

  • Disposable sterile irrigation/infusion set in Y-lead configuration
  • Single-use components pre-assembled and sterilised; ready for aseptic connection to fluid bags and catheters
  • Includes inline bubble trap chamber to capture air before fluid enters patient line

Packaging

  • Individually sterile-wrapped pouch for single-use irrigation set
  • Labelled with product code EMC4055N, CE mark and sterile status
  • Sold individually (each) or as multipack cartons depending on supplier (e.g. 15 units per case per distributor listing)

Usage

  • Use only once — the irrigation set is designed for single-use. Do not re-sterilise or reuse.
  • Maintain aseptic technique when opening packaging and connecting spikes to fluid bags.
  • Hang fluid bag(s) on IV stand, insert spike(s) into fluid bag port(s), and ensure protective caps are removed properly before use.
  • Open clamps and allow fluid to flow through the tubing until all air is expelled via the bubble-trap chamber, ensuring no air bubbles remain.
  • Connect catheter adapter or intended endoscope/instrument via the silicone tubing adapter.
  • Adjust flow rate using the roller clamp as needed for the procedure or irrigation requirements.
  • After use, discard the entire set (tubing, connectors, spikes, clamps) into appropriate medical sharps / biohazard waste container, following local disposal protocols.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if the sterile pouch packaging is damaged or opened prior to use — sterility cannot be guaranteed.
  • Not for long-term indwelling use — the set is designed for short-term irrigation/infusion only.
  • Do not reuse or re-sterilise — reuse may compromise integrity and sterility, increasing risk of infection or device failure.

Adverse Effects

  • Risk of infection if aseptic technique is not maintained or if set sterility is compromised.
  • Potential for air embolism if air is not properly expelled before connection due to user error.
  • Local reaction or irritation if incompatible fluid or medication is used.
  • Mechanical failure or leakage if tubing or connectors are damaged during handling — may result in fluid spillage or compromised irrigation.

Storage Conditions

  • Store unopened irrigation set in a clean, dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep in original sterile packaging until use to maintain sterility.
  • Do not freeze or expose to extreme temperatures.
  • Handle gently to avoid damaging tubing, spikes or connectors prior to use.
