Usage

  • Genesis is a professional device and must only be operated by trained healthcare or aesthetic professionals familiar with radiofrequency technology and mesoestetic protocols.
  • Before treatment, carry out a full consultation, review medical history, assess indications/contraindications and obtain informed consent.
  • Select the appropriate program (facial or body) from the 44 pre-set protocols or configure the free programme according to the patient’s needs.
  • Prepare the skin by cleansing and, where indicated, applying the recommended Genesis conductive gel and/or booster ampoules suited to the treatment goal.
  • For the stimulation (RF) phase, choose the suitable RF handpiece (capacitive RF with LED, capacitive RF, or resistive RF) and adjust intensity and treatment parameters within recommended ranges for the chosen program.
  • Apply the handpiece with constant movement over the treatment area, maintaining adequate contact and monitoring patient comfort and skin temperature throughout.
  • For the delivery phase, use the Smart Transcutaneous Drive handpiece and follow the protocol to deliver active ingredients via electrophoroporation and electrophoresis, ensuring correct placement, contact and timing.
  • Use appropriate contact mediums and follow safety instructions to avoid excessive heating or patient discomfort.
  • After completing the treatment, remove any residual gel and apply suitable finishing products (e.g. soothing cream, sun protection) as recommended by mesoestetic.
  • Advise patients on post-treatment care, which typically includes avoiding intense heat exposure (sauna, sunbeds), very hot showers and aggressive topical products for a short period after treatment.
  • Follow the recommended course of treatments: commonly around 6 sessions for facial indications and 10 sessions for body indications, typically carried out twice weekly, as indicated in mesoestetic protocols.
  • Perform regular maintenance, cleaning and disinfection of handpieces and surfaces according to the manufacturer’s IFU, and arrange periodic technical servicing as required.

Contraindications

  • Presence of active skin infections, open wounds or acute inflammation in the treatment area.
  • Active skin diseases at the treatment site (e.g. active acne, eczema, acute dermatitis) unless specifically cleared by a dermatologist.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, as a precaution due to lack of safety data.
  • Cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators or other active electronic implants.
  • Significant metal implants or prostheses in or near the treatment area where RF energy could interact.
  • Severe systemic illnesses, uncontrolled metabolic or endocrine disorders, or active malignancy, unless cleared by a treating physician.
  • Known sensitivity to electromagnetic fields or history of seizures/epilepsy where RF stimulation may be problematic.
  • Severe circulatory disorders or conditions where increased local temperature is contraindicated.
  • Recent use of photosensitising or skin-irritating treatments in the area that may increase risk of adverse reactions.
  • Patients with significant keloid or hypertrophic scarring tendency should be evaluated cautiously.
  • Any other contraindication specified in the official mesoestetic Genesis instructions for use and local clinical guidelines.

Adverse Effects

  • Temporary erythema (redness), warmth and mild oedema in the treated area immediately after treatment.
  • Transient sensations of tingling or heat during application of radiofrequency.
  • Rare superficial burns or blistering if incorrect parameters, insufficient movement or poor contact are used.
  • Possible temporary exacerbation of redness in couperose or rosacea-prone skin if parameters are not correctly adjusted.
  • Occasional discomfort or sensitivity in the treated area for a short time after sessions.
  • In very rare cases, pigmentary changes or textural irregularities if overheating occurs.
  • As with any electrical medical device, improper use or failure to follow instructions may increase the risk of adverse events.

Storage Conditions

  • Install and store the Genesis device in a clean, dry, dust-free treatment room or equipment area.
  • Operate and store within the ambient temperature and humidity ranges specified in the instructions for use (typically normal clinic room conditions; avoid extremes of heat, cold and humidity).
  • Keep the device away from direct sunlight, heat sources and liquids that could spill onto the unit.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the device and do not block cooling vents.
  • When not in use, power the device down according to the manufacturer’s instructions and protect handpieces in their holders or dedicated storage supports.
  • Avoid dropping or striking handpieces; store them carefully to prevent cable strain or damage.
  • Only authorised technical service should open or repair the device; follow mesoestetic’s maintenance and calibration recommendations.

Duration

Protocols described by mesoestetic suggest approximately 6 sessions for facial treatments and 10 sessions for body treatments, usually with 2 sessions per week. Individual session duration varies by indication and area treated but typically lasts around 20\u201360 minutes, with cumulative immediate and progressive results over the course of the treatment plan.

Onset

Patients generally experience immediate tightening or improved radiance after the first session, with progressive improvements in firmness, wrinkle reduction, hydration and body contour over subsequent sessions as collagen remodelling and tissue changes develop.
